How to Build a ScrOG Screen (Tutorial)

It all depends on how big you want them to get. You start to train before the flip. The key to mastering scrog is determining when to flip in order to fill the screen when the stretch is done.

If you give us the height of your room, hood, and wattage info we can help you determine the Max height of the screen

closet: 9'4"x22"x7'9"
hood: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002JLB6L0/ref=oh_details_o01_s02_i00

How high should I set my screens? How far into the plant's life should I put the screens in my closet?

I wouldn't just say that scrog is worth it, id say its necessary. I just cant imagine any cannabis plants growing through maturity with only 3 feet of vert space without having been trained to grow horizontally. Especially when you consider the vert space used by the pots and the light. I hardly know anything about the grow you are planning, but based on what you have told me I would definitely recommend that you use lots of low stress training and a screen!
Very good info. Thanks.

The only reason my vert space is limited is because I am strongly considering mothering a plant or two in the upper chamber and having a flower chamber below. I am at that part in my grow box build where I need to make this decision before I order my lights. If I don't split the chambers, the vertical space will be about 6ft high, and still the 2ft x 1.5ft.

I am going to be testing the grow box with bag seed until I get the kinks out and then considering some non-autoflowering strains to play with. Preferably some short-medium growers (if I keep the dual chamber).

Growing the dank..the highest you would want your screen is about 3' from the ceiling. This would give you allowance for 1' of hood height, 1 foot of space between the final tops and the light and 1' of space for the plants to grow through the screen. I typically place the screen when the plants need to be "smooshed down" or trained. So..when they are higher than the final screen height.

im in, I've been trying to figure out how high I should set my screen. My room is 5 ft 10 inches. I will be using a dimable 600w hps. I will be getting either the SS II you recommended or the bb.

thanks man!
