How big can you grow in a 2 gallon pot?

3 gallon is the ideal ratio. 2 gallons work great as well. IMO anything over 3 is wasting soil
Say What? I run 5's and 7's.........Solo's to 1's to 3's and when it's time to flip I uip pot to 5 or 7's and wait 8 days - then straight into the bloom room...

The rule of thumb is a gallon for every zip in yield. If your good, you can dbl that....But a plant at 26" and flipped in a 2 gallon is no doubt going to be rootbound....

3 gallons is even on the small side for flipping to flower @ over 2 ft.

More root more fruit. If you cheapies are trying to save a few dollars on the soil it takes to fill a 5 gallon, well.... your pretty cheap, and robbing yourself of fruit

I have used all sizes of pots and bags. I get bigger plants with bigger bags up to 5 gallons. The smaller plants in smaller containers make just as good of buds and sometimes almost as many. On balance I do get the best results with 5 gallons. Anything bigger than 5 gallons doesn't help much.
Also, it is hard to tell with just one grow because all seeds are not created equal. With bags there isn't much chance of getting root rot.

thanks for the info. i guess i better get some bigger pots.:o i have grown mostly in dwc. for ease of up keep i am trying soil. so far it is not easier. between the gnats and flies it is starting to be a pain in the ass.:peace:
Gnats , flies your soil is too wet, let it dry more between watering. diatomacious earth on top & mixed in 1st 1/2 inch. Large grained sand on top works. Put diatomaciouse earth on a small area, put a piece of potato there, gnat babies like potato more. Potato attracts them, earth kills them. Don't get discouraged, I had 1 bad soil grow at first, second grow better 3rd grow dialed in. Soil grow tastes better IMO..

I've seen dixi cups go all the way to harvest and 5 gallon pots,it's up to you.
Imho 3 to 5 gallon are best I stay in dixi cups untill around 12 inchs and then to my 3 or 5 gal containers, after 2or 3 weeks more veg they go to flower.

Thanks for the reply I’m running soil and trying to keep from watering every day with a short veg time and just flip ! Trying to SOG method and just trying to get an idea on how much water I’ll be using for 216 plants !

I'd suggest running a much smaller plant count. Especially if you need to ask about watering. Get the basics down and then expand.

I grow in 2 gallon pots and my plants reach up to 5 feet and get good yields. I like checking on my plants everyday or 2 so 2 gallon is perfect for me. If you want to water less or grow bigger than 5ft I would recommend going up to 3+ gallons.

Also top the soil with play sand or perlite and any gnats that try to dig in or out rip off there wings and die so 1week and h will have the fungus g ants gone
