giving defoliation during flower a try

Heres a serious question i have a customer who is having an issue in flowering i think hes in 4-5th week and ive seen this problem happen before to s few customers and I dont know best answer to give him maybe u guys know better than me and can recommend something other than flushig w epsom salts (this was my recommendation).

He brought me these 3 leaves lol i dont got much to go by other than this.. Check pics below. So basically he says he is experiencing lower leaves only browning tips that r obviously getting crunchy and dry and falling off. He said browning starts on outside leaf edges and tips and leaf turns yellow etc.. But otherwise the plants are all green and healthy (havent seen pics of whole plant but i take his word for it since all he told me). Says no problem with any uppe growth or signs of anything wrong and still budding as normal.

I told em its either a nutrient salt build up or possibly not feeding enough nutrients.. Im not that familiar with H&G but hes running coco/peat mix and using the bud xl, cal mag supplement, and hygrozyme. Hes down here right now if anyone can help em out I give credit to you guys and tell em if he has any questions maybe u guys can help him out better than me cuz he said he flushed and followed my directions and the problem is still happening and I am honestly stumped. Which is why I thought not feeding enough then? He said any help would be awesome.


This all he gave me.

He just told me it started in week 2 and thats its getting worse and alot of the leaves are browning from outter edges until they turn yellow and fall off easily. He said his run off ph is good and ppm are between 1000-1400 on some containers. If anyone familiar w H&G or knows wtf is causing this Be cool if you could help him out cuz I told him to flush and it hasnt changed anything he says. This was about 3 weeks ago. U think its under fed or something else?

I asked u before if u dont have anything to contribute stfu. Im trying to help someone out here. Quit the shit

Think its burn not a deficiency huh? Im thrown off cuz of the purple petioles, hard to tell deficiencies, lock outs and burns without knowing everything hes doing. He said hes only feeding at half strength I think* thats why i told em to flush just to be sure.

I thought he had a salt build up that lead to a nutrient deficiency with p-k deficiency symptoms. Like i said hard not knowing exactly what he was feeding, but hes really good customer and id like to help him out. I had him flush for a few watering and he said it didnt get any better, thats why i thought maybe he wasnt feeding enough.

Unless its a ph issue hes having (*he says that his run off is good) idk though. Lol thanks for response see if anyone else chimes in on it.

what is hygrozyme and why is he using it. did you sell him that and tell him to use it in the 5th week of flower?

What is with this 5th of flower you're supposed to use X,Y,Z. Come on people. Learn what makes a plant tick and get off the noobie scheduler grow chart hype created only to sell product.

Flushing with epsom salts? WTF.

He has a nutrient issue and most likely is pushing his plants, notice the leaf tip burn. That's not a deficiency, it looks like a moisture stress issue to me.

What's causing it is anybody's guess since the NPK values and such are not provided - not enough info.

Yes i told him to flush with epsom salts low dose to flush the medium. Some people use 1/4 strength nutrients i didnt want him to use any more nutrients in case it was over fertilized and he had a very mild mag def on upper leaves I dont think I mentioned that sorry. Was having some cupping and yellowing between veins on upper growth, on a few plants.

Moisture meaning over watered or room to moist? Idk his watering schedule but hes done a few grows im pretty sure he isnt over watering but idk. U think that could cause the leaves to look like that, and yellow up and die off? Or too dry from air movement? Just trying to figure out what u mean so I can help him figure this out, hes a really good guy older dude, real good people.

I know He has a dehumidifier i sold him one not too long ago he was having high humidity but i think he got it before he started flowering. He said its been good now, and temperatures mid 70s.

And i not here to argue im trying to help someone out, second uncle ben i can pull up a post u made in response to someone having a nutrient lockout and deficiency in whoch you told them to flush using epsom salts as well and if u want me to go dig it up i can pull post up and show everyone it too, but lets not go there

@pk_boosted2 - The common protocol is to create your own thread in subforum "Marijuana Plant Problems" instead of hijacking and polluting a thread on a different subject. (not that it hasn't happened already) There you will find more troubleshooters so you can get more input.

Im not going thru all that trouble i told him to try some forums online. Idk how to start forums and posts or whatever anyways not gonna spend all day trying to help him out he can come on here do that himself if he needs to lol

Again, you gave him bad advice which result in more harm to his plants. Mg deficiencies, if any, show up on the lower leaves not upper. Being that most if not all growers use some form of Mg supplements, it is highly unlikely. I mean if you have some problem then come up with the most common, dumbass forum advice and blame it on pH or Mg.

Upper leaf chlorosis is due to one or more micro deficiencies, the most common being Fe and Zn.

Start a thread by going to "Marijuana plant problems", click on the "start new thread " button and post. It's much easier than 4ml/l sensi bloom A, 4ml/L sensi B, 2ml/L Big Bud, 2ml/L B-52, 2ml/L overdrive. 2ml/L bud candy, 2ml/L bud ignitor, 2ml/L piranha, 2ml/L tarantula, 2ml/l voodoo juice. Promise.
