Ok so I know you can stress females to grow like males, but can you do it the other way around to? That Canadian guy the US tried to extradite, its even on his website in those words. All these websites with that quote seem to imply that super thrive can somehow make a male flower like a female but nobody explains :(

believe me.. if super thrive could turn males to females we all would be using it.. there would be no need to fem seeds...

Ok well I've been trying to do research the last couple hours and I've changed my mind a bit. I've used foxfarm organic nutrients (which aren't heavy in salt/salt based) and so people say it is not as necessary to flush. So many people seem to do fine with a 2 week flush (don't suffer any significant drawbacks) and plenty of people seem to do fine feeding right up to harvest. So I think I will go half and half just to be safe and only water plainly the last week. So on to some questions: Do you know much about any advanced harvesting tricks like keeping them in the dark the last few days before harvest, or harvesting at x time of day, or harvesting on a day they would normally be watered (harvest with dry vs wet soil, or half way between waterings, or not even watering at all x amount of time before harvest), stuff like that?

there is no need to do an extended dark period.. it wont do much... the day i harvest (if i am going to do it straight) i keep all the lights off... otherwise just try to keep the ones you want to chop in the dark and the rest under the light.. move them to a closet if you can.. jsut something.. its not a big deal.. jsut optimum right at lights on..

*How do you feel about the use of molasses? I have that grandma's stuff a lot of people use up until harvest, they say at 1 tablespoon per gallon. Is there any special way to do it? Or can I just whip out a measuring spoon and dump a tablespoon of it in the gallon jug and shake right before feeding?*(that stuff can be thick and sticky, should I let it sit in water for a day or something?

good stuff... has a LOT of benefits... just pour and mix well.. thats all you need to do.. you can actually use it all the time during your grow.. its really good stuff..

PS: here are some pics from 10 minutes ago, feel free to revise your estimate ;) * although I feel they look better in these pics than in person, esp 1 version of the photos (since I can only post.. 4 at a time I will wait until my response to your response to this post before posting the pics of the smallest plant :P so I don't double post). The tall/lst one *Alma has always had the biggest issues, and had them more frequently (and when I went to long without giving a high N veg nute in flowering I think it messed her up pretty bad for the rest of the grow *a lot of her big leaves there are purple, the picture dosen't capture it well but they give me the impression they are supposed to be purple and not that it is a sign of a problem). The 2nd tallest doesn't seem to want to handle full strength nutes very well (getting nute burn spots on her fan/larger leaves on the top/main cola (no apparent problems below the top 1/3rd, do you you think that means I should continue full strength for her since its only on those leafs near the top?), and the smallest which is not among these photos, appears to have no issues what so ever with full strength nutes and hasn't had any problems with yellowing or dropping any leaves for awhile (funny how the one that grew most abnormally and is smallest in size is handling things best o_O) *day 93 since the tallest popped out of the dirt (day 92 for the others), and this is the 38th day of 12/12. *sry again I talk so much, it is so hard not to!
they look good.. feeding is a balancing act... sometimes you will need to feed more.. sometimes less.. checking the run off when you feed will help you better know what to do the next feeding... id cut back the nutes a little.. just sorta a 2/3 strength thing...

id guess you have about 4 weeks left... 3 to 4...

I think you may be right, only been feeding once a day for 15 mins, waiting on a pump...
if thats all your feeding then ya, thats the prob.. lol just gotta feed em a bit more..

So the yellow leaves come from a lack of nitrogen?
assuming there are no ph/lock out issues than ya, yellowing is most commonly caused by lack of N

Well all my problems seem to have been over feeding and under feeding. When I don't feed enough of the veg nute i use (foxfarm growbig) the leaves turn yellow, when I use too much of something they get spots that look like dry or burnt bits on the leaves. Pretty sure a lack of nitrogen is the most common cause of yellowing... And since someone else posted I ill put up the pics of the smallest plant now! (again feel free to revise your estimate if you think you can :P now I'm just curious how well you can guess, we can make it a game, you get another guess now and the day they get cut haha)
do you want me to guess a weight of them or chop date?? i need a pic of something to compare them too.. a pop can or something.. so i can get a good idea of how big they really are...

the burnt spots are salt build up in the leaves from over feeding... its not a bad thing.. you just know the plants max feeding ability..

Thanks for again holdin my hand thru this goose.

Wanted to see if you could perhaps elude on teripins you spoke of. SOunds like those are the things i be searchin after for years, the flava essentially.

Here's the deal, my main nugs (they may be the only ones that have the slightest bag appeal).

Anyway, i chopped those last monday night. so it's been a full week.had on dryer for 3 days, then in jars for 1 day, then back on dryer (after ur mesg. above) until today. This afternoon they were super moist again (after feeling like they were WAY too dry yesterday, amazing how deceiving that shiz can be). So tonight I opened them up & poured most of the fatties into a reg. paper grocery bag, which I'll prb. do for a few hours, as you suggested.

Here's the thing, man it just really smells like extrememley pungent plant matter, are those teripins still get sorted out??? Or is this the nature of ruderalis that the technology is still young, and they are what they are.

If so, all good, I just wanna know how, to what degree & when ur girls start gettin stanky.

This is all speculation, but I really assumed for the place to be super stank w/ headie smellin fruits. However, @ nest it smells like hay or straight plant material when I get up close to them.

FYI, the photo girls looked to enjoy the 36 hours of dark, quite a bit of new, healthy lookin leaves. Just gettin used to my systems bein fully automated (dude i was handwatering photo seedlings x3 times a day for the past 6 weeks. The pump I got, wasn't strong enough to pump the nutes up the full 8' I needed, just underestimated there.

YOu are right on evthin my man, but especially that old "ya learn more from 1 grow than from thousands of pages of readin). Worked well, cause the pump that came with the v-drip was some weak ass little 66gph pump, so I threw the one I bought for drip tray & it worked great & didn't miss a step.

Thanks for evthing bro, just hopin to try & salvage something tasty from these autos.

Be candid though, if ya think their teripins are not gonna sort out, just lemme know.

thanks homey
the teripins wont start to develope until the bud is completely dried out... they dont activate until they are dried.. so once the buds are actually dried and storeable it will take a week or two for them to really develope... you'll notice more and more everyday...

now with the ruderalis in them they may or may not get super dank... the hemp plants are a bit shakey... and autos are un predictable.. but expect soemthing at least...

-just give it time.. thats the main thing..

Nah I was just being silly, seeing if you would revise your estimation of 4-6oz based on some newer pics, and then a final guess the day they get chopped :P Ok well the those pots they are in, will easily hold a gallon jug of water with about 1/2 an inch of wiggle room around the base. The littlest plant is 18 inches from dirt to top, the tallest one growing straight up is 2 ft tall from dirt to top, and the sideways one is about 2.5 feet. *here are the better looking pics (well the flash makes the buds stand out a lot better but the color of the plants worse)

PS: so I cut back to 2/3rds nutes for all the plants this morning, did you recommend that because of the light nute burn or because they don't need as much approaching the 7th week?* is this something I should continue?

PSS: Just got from work and remembered something I noticed. A couple of the plants (one more than the other) seem to be growing a little piece of cotton near their top. It looks like a fluffy piece of someones sock or something growing at the top. Whats that about o_O?

Here's a few pics of my plants bro. Let me know what you think about the pistils and buds. They have been getting 12/12 light for three weeks and four days and have been showing bud for two weeks and two days.

The pistils started shrivelling up and turning amber/brown yesterday after I sprayed them down for the second time with the water/alcohol mix.

You can see some webs in a couple pics too

Just thought i maybe remember u sayin that it was best to pinch em say @ right before dark period, as opposed to early on in light period, perhaps so they can recover better???

whatcha think?

Hey Sam, I bought this ec meter and want to be clear about how to read it, it reads out with 3 numbers or three numbers x10, so if it just reads 500 is that .5 ec? :?

I've been using water filtered thru a Pur filter and it reads 455 and about the same out of the tap, and my plants seem well, my nuted water reads 160 x10... Heres pic they are all fom bagseed germed about a month ago...

im hydro illiterate, but ill try to answer this one with math and logic

ec meter measures ppm yes?so a reading of 500 X10 would be 5000, no?

i noticed my bud SimpsonSampson has been over at skunkschool for a while now, ill try and answer any nonhydro questions i can

im a part time hobby grower myself, but i started to notice problems around week 3, too strech a little droopy most of the day, exct exct, so now i put it under CFLs most of the day and in the window in the morning exclusively

what is citral? the plant will grow as big as you let it. being a hobby grow it will be a bit strechy because it doesnt get enough light, but the real question is how long will you veg for and how much space do you have?

Here's a couple pics of one my vegging plants. the leaves are curling, clawing, cupping, i don't really know what you'd call it.

Trying to figure where I screwed up this time. Light's too close? Over watered? Nute problem? None of the above?
what are your temps? thats my first guess at your prognosis...

My temp in that room seems to range between 75-85. Lights have been on for the last 16 hours and right now it's 82 in there. I wasn't monitoring temps in that room until this week. I keep the lights pretty close and I did add a 68 watt CFL the other day too so maybe that bumped the temp up a bit. hmmm

Thanks for the suggestion.

I get the math part, but I want to know if 500 is .5 ec and lets say 150 x 10 is 1.5 ec?

Thanks KaleoXxX +rep for responding :peace:

ill prolly keep the same guess on weight for now.. looks to be about right...

the cut back in nutes was due to the slight burn... but if it goes away you can increase it back up.. they use the most nutes towards the end when they finish..

id have to see a pic of the cotton.. but it sounds like bud mold.... which would be a bad thing.. means you dont have enough air circulation or ventilation...

they look good.. you should remove the webs as you see them... the alcohol will kill the pistils.. but they will grow back.. so you shouldnt be concerned there...

your welcome bro

you ideally want to cut down right before or at lights on.... if thats what you mean..

Great post man...Thanks for the info it helped alot
thank you and your welcome!

i would assume humidity... they dont look bad tho.. but im guessing your humidity is up there...

ive read somme of the pages and man am i learning alot i mean alot well my question is im growing my plant ussing the dwc system with a water pump and an air pump with a dripp system an well i live by myself and have it in a room with two windows where the sun hits it all day and the night time is dark its in my upstairs room where no one can see it hopeully well my question is will it simulated like it really was growing outside? im growing citral how big will it get? any tips p.s i cant grow outside no room heres a pic
no... it wont grow well this way.. the plant wont recieve enough direct sunlight so properly grow.. you make get something in the end.. but it wont be worth the time... you either need a light or to move it outside...

i would assume that what you are saying is right.. it doesnt give much info on the page.. but it would make sense to read it that way..

but then again im not sure if it might be PPM read out.... so 160x10 would be a ppm of 1600.. its really hard saying because they dont give much info on the page...

i would assume tho, again, that you are right... so 160x10 is a 1.6 ec in the end...

im hydro illiterate, but ill try to answer this one with math and logic

yeah.. i went awol a couple days.. i dont go to skool anymore... i just took a couple days off here.. had some personal shit going on ya know.. thanks for chiming in tho! always appreciate the help!

i still think its more to do with humidity.. which can be temp varried... do you know the RH of your room??

i think you have it right, the thing didnt come with instructions though?

i understand alot of us guys trow out the directions, but i always keep them in case i need clarification
i dont know how many times i wish i had instructions to shit to go back and re read stuff.. lol

I have them but they are vague as to ppm as opposed to ec
the problem with ppm and EC is that there are 3 PPM scales.. but only 1 EC scale.. so if you are reading ppm you have to know what scale you are using.. then figure out what ec that translates into...

Your kind of a badass bro. You were gone for a couple days and BAM! you just replied to everyone in one post. Thanks for the replies.
I'll check the RH of the room later today. I only have one humidity meter right now and it's in the flower room so I'm just going to go pick up another at Home Depot while getting some materials for a job.

sorry bro, i mean't "is there a best time during the day to suercrop the gals".

Sounds like you thought I was askin for best time to chop.

Just wondering, since supercroppin is a high stress technique, if its better done @ lights on, or if it matters.

lemme know & preesh bro
