Well, you can make a complicated veg fixture, or...

Clones vegging under ONE 22w Utilitech 5000K household globe mounted in a cheap vanity fixture.

ok I switch to 12/12 yesterday on the 20/4 (might give me a chance to remember the date for once :D)

so to day you could say its the fist day of flowering, tho I fist consider it flowering when I see flowers, biggest plant have shown sex however, so I guess I can begin to count from now on with that one ;)

used a few hrs in the grow room to day, made a few tweaks, got some maylor up that was on a other wall from my HPS grow doing no good, got the intake/out take replaced to make the air flow pass the plants more effective, and made a good clean up getting reading for flowering, checking for light leaks aso.

a few pictures of how it look now:

fresh air is coming in by 3x 4" tubes at the bottom left side, and at the plant`s top the 6" out take is located at the right side, temps is 78F and RH is now 42% after I got my humidifier (located outside the grow room near the 3x4" intake tubes where there also is a fresh air intake)

light is about 20 inch`s over the screen and I cover about 2,5x2 ft. and most of the canopy get 3-4K foot candles and just over the screen it quickly get up to +5K .. hope to see a lot of Bud site`s peak up there soon :D

yeah :)

DSC01481.jpgDSC01482.jpgDSC01483.jpg

fist week of 12/12 done and new top`s peaking up all over, guess I might have to do a bit of de-leavening to get the light to em all, white hairs is showing at every top ..

so fare so good plants seems to love the LED`s have even got the light as close as 18" (+4K ft candles according to my light meter and the Par light should be close to perfect)

seems to have the water/feeding cycles dialed in more or less (knock on woods)

watering is every 3-4 days, where fist day they are moist and transpiration a lot, and next two they really shoot up and grow a inch or so, last day they stay dry and seems to do other stuff the growing over the soil

well just what I notice, I wonder if there is sumthing I can do so they don't look droopy fist few hrs after watering ?
water slowly with 18C temperated Tap water (no chlorine, pure ground water) with a PH around 6,8 (no PH adjustment, tap is 7,4 coming out with a medium - high amount of calcium and hit 6,7-7 after 10ml of plagron terra bloom per gallon of water, every watering (half strength of what the bottles say) plants is in a 4G air pot and a normal square 7G pot with a normal light mix from plagron, tho with a few things mixed in

DSC01335.jpg

most food have been used up in Veg. (6 and 8 weeks of Veg) Im sure so plants will flower on the terra bloom basic nuts, might add some epsom salt now and then for some extra Mg/sulfate and I also have some Ripen (6/5 P/K) for the last few weeks if I decide to use it ?

just had to try out de-leaveing a bit, been a great "fan" :D of keeping them fan leave`s on the plant on my previous grows but have seen some proof of it having some advantages specially in a horizontal grow and in my case a scrog, so want to see for myself, have done a mild one you could say, just them big fan leaves that cover all them new small shoots

DSC01487.jpgDSC01488.jpg

now the light can reach them, hope to see some grow on them side branches :)

other one I left alone, as its a bit behind and do look so nice and healthy, and is growing up so the main steam is located just at the edges of the light with all the small side shoots coming up inside the strong light

DSC01493.jpg

might do a bit of lollipopping tho, and see if I can get some bigger colars on that one

day 9, guess its safe to say my plants love the LEDs :D

DSC01499.jpgDSC01501.jpg

stretch is on full, but I don't see much compared to my old 600W HPS :D well they do grow but instead of 4 inch`s of steam and a nod/bud site I get 2 inch`s of steam and 3 nod points :D
tons of small side shoots is coming up on the big plant, might have to do a bit more de-leaveing at the end of week two before I leave em be

Veg plant is getting ready under the T5HOs to replace em in 7 weeks time ;)

day 11

plants really enjoy the LEDs :D cant wait to see how they preform once the Buds begin to swell up and gain weight

they are, have got most conditions dialed in, water, nuts, air flow, temps/RH all is close to perfect, plus I made a bit more de-leaveing so light can hit the lower grow spots and got the light 2" closer so its now about 15" from the top`s

water every 3-4 day (with the 600W it was more like every 2th day)

use about the same amount of nuts as with the HPS (no burns yet, but you could also say I only pour in half the nuts as I only water half as much)

5ml plagron terra bloom (2-2-4) per liter of water, every watering, weird numbers ?? but plants look nice dark green and healthy, not much/any clawing and most top grow that get plenty of light stand strait up with a slightly upwards curling to the leaves :D

have a bit of green sensation (plagron bud booster) for week 4-5 and I also give em a ts of Epsom salt now and then to keep them Mg hungry LSD plants happy

the 6" ventilation is maybe overkill for the LEDs but with a few tweaks it actually made my air flow pass around the plants so effective that I don't even use a fan, most leaves is moving slightly from the flow alone :D

temps is 22-24C and the bottom of the plants and 26-28C at the top canopy and the RH is between 38% and 42%

day 12 of flowering (just love the tight nod space the LED give compared to my 600W HPS, even doing the stretch :D)

DSC01513.jpgDSC01514.jpgDSC01515.jpgDSC01516.jpgDSC01517.jpgDSC01518.jpgDSC01520.jpgDSC01521.jpgDSC01522.jpgDSC01523.jpg

nothing to complain about so fare, if they continue to preform like this Ill be happy about the swap from the HPS

day 13 of 12/12

gave em a good watering with clean water and a ts. of Epsom salt to day, seems to enjoy it, no burns to report, but pretty dark green and a bit of pink leave steam and since the stretch should be over in a few days its time to be a bit careful with the nitrogen I guess ..

DSC01539.jpgDSC01540.jpgDSC01544.jpgDSC01545.jpg

guess its time to pack down the 600W and place it in a box in the basement, Im happy with them LEDs, might only cover half the space as the 600W but light intensity is as strong 15" away (5-6K foot candles) as the HPS and heat is old history, can keep ambi temps inside my grow room and at the top of the canopy its just 1-2C hotter and with less then half the power used, fan`s is`t necessary either so more power saved :D

and plants seems to love the light, very tight Nod space even in the stretch, not that I would top in flowering, but if I should I would have a hard time finding a spot to do it :D guess them 6500K WW LEDs is doing there job much better then the pure 2100K HPS now Im just exited about what all them 630/640/660/700nm LEDs will do to my Buds in week 3-7 :D

thanks :D

and yea I hope so, that was the plan :D

stretch should be over more or less, hope to see some Bud grow now, will top dress em with Bat guano (15% P.) this week when watering
beside that, just let em do there thing, wont de-leave more other then a single leave here and there that is blocking to much

By 'top dress' I hope you mean on the medium, not on the plant leafs. FYI high P is one of many myths perpetrated by nutrient companies
