Or turn off the HPS and take pics in the dark before the light goes on or shortly after it goes out (those minutes really don't matter).

Tip: water the medium / root zone, not the plant itself, i.e. stop spraying.

Plants look great though (apart from the one poor (ahum, edit: ) girl you pulled the wings off ;) ). Instead of topping you could pinch 'n snap 'n bend the main/terminal shoot/bud to bring it down to the level of the lower shoots. It has pretty much the same effect as topping, except you don't lose anything so more suitable for autos than topping.
Lol yeah that'd prob be a better idea for the photos.

Does it hinder the root development if they get too much water / nutes through foliar feeding? I switched to just ph adjusted water for the past couple days, been misting them a couple times a day...

A common expression is that you make the roots lazy. Especially since you have seemingly quite large pots, you want the plant to make an effort to grow as many roots as possible. So even though it can certainly look like it is, it's not really "helping" them, it's more like pampering, something that can backfire during flowering. And yes, foliar feed can get in the way of regular nutrient uptake. A major process in plants is transpiration, which simply put refers to taking up water through the roots and sweating it out of their leaves. This process allows the roots to suck nutrients towards the roots, bringing them close enough for uptake. By spraying too often you basically clog the pipes of the factory slowing down the process, which in turn reduces the (more complete) nutrient uptake through the roots

But, that wasn't the main reason for my tip. I thought perhaps you were doing it because you had low humidity. They're starting to flower now though, if you continue spraying them you risk mold and pistils can turn brown prematurely and create a skewed perception later on. So if you want to spray (which certainly isn't always a bad thing, just easy to overdo), stop doing so when they start to flower.

Yeah it's probably time to stop spraying. My humidity is a bit low but it'll be a godsend when these flowers get bigger. Last thing I need is mold

Fed the girls a compost tea yesterday. First time making one lol...what a mess. Spent about a half hour cleaning up afterwards.

Here's one of the Northern Lights at day 22:

So I've got a little problem w/ taking pictures now...my dark period is when I'm sleeping so I can't snap photos right when the lights go out or right before they come on...really don't want to drag them out of the tent for pictures, trying not to disturb them too much...

I'm gonna try using a better camera n see if any of the settings can compensate for the HPS. If that doesn't work I'll just start photoshoping them to accommodate for the yellow/orange I guess :\

A white balance option on the camera helps a lot. In PS, try Image>Adjustments>Match Color then check the Neutralize option. Not perfect but usually a major improvement.

Had to kill two of the girls today...not real happy. Might have a 3rd herm that'll go in the trash too. Not sure where I went wrong - they all grew quick and looked healthy besides the one that got topped :/

Sorry @polo the don I know you wanted to see how the Chemdawg made out but both threw out bananas...I'm gonna pop the last chem bean just to see if I can get one through without balls but I started reading around and it sounds like even the original chemdawgs were herm prone and most of the crosses are too. Read a couple variations of the story but somewhere in the chemdawg lineage was some hermy pollen... :\ Gonna pop 3 beans in solo cups tonight...1 Chemdawg, 1 more Berry Ryder and 1 Pineapple Punch (From Auto Seeds too)

Well I think I jumped the gun assuming the 2nd chemdawg was herm..Got paranoid after finding the first two herms with staminate flowers n thought I saw them on the other chemdawg lol. While I was at work most of those little balls popped out hairs so I'm gonna say its still female for now n just keep a close eye on it. With that said I've got space for 2 more 2gallon smart pots now so 2 more autos are going in...

I'm so sorry for your loss. Hopefully ChemDog #2 stays a she. Such a shame.
What was the other strain that threw nanners?
Its a trip that you managed to hermie not one auto strain, but two. Hermies are kinda rare with autos, you should buy a lotto ticket. I'm just giving you a hard time. Maybe on the ones your about to pop, don't fuck with em!

I keep my canopy even by using big bowls, old pots, lil plastic crate like thingies or what ever is handy. Autos really like to do their own thing. I've found it best for me to just let them "grow however they wanna grow". I feel like they don't really need much direction from me.

Funny how we think alike, I'm gonna soak a Pinapple Punch from auto seeds tonight or tomorrow.

I know at least one of them ChemDogs is gonna make it to the bong. Hopefully two.

Keep your head up,
Polo.

Lmao yeah man Idk how I pulled off stressing 2 different auto strains to herm on my first grow but one of these chemdawgs will defff hit the bong. The other one that threw out a nanner was the tiny northern lights that was the runt I topped lmao. Same one that got half the taproot ripped off early on so I'll def take the blame on that shit LOL.

What size pot are you gonna run your pineapple punch in ?

I'm sure your gonna double cup them again, but is there a reason you can't start them in the final pot? You know, kinda limit possible stress factors?..?
Yeah I used a 2 liter with the bottom and top cut off to give more vertical depth for the roots, but I'm starting it already in the pot this time instead of trying to transplant:

Two gallon fabric pots. Not smart pot brand but equal quality. What I like about them over smart pots is they are tall and skinny instead of short and fat like smart pots. They are 11" tall and 7" wide with handles. I feel like the deeper the taproot can go the better for autos. I got a ten pack off Amazon for I think $22 bucks last year. I'll try to find the link for ya later.

I think this is the pots. I tried to look through my amazon purchase history to make sure but I buy too much shit and it don't go back that much but I pretty sure these are the ones. If you ever need more good pots for autos, I recommend these.

Damn good looking. That's a really good deal - and having em deep and narrow would let you fit more into the same space but still provide plenty of medium for an auto. Definitely gonna grab a 10 pack of these when I get my 2nd tent set up
