Thanks, tried some last night and it's definitely better than my first batch. More or less the same resin than under the LED's but this CMH rocks it for maturity and density. Not cured but still good tasting and smoked more like hash than pot since it's not cured.

BTW: I just put the 4x Harlequin BX4 (high CBD) seeds into paper towels last night. Treating this as a breeding project, hoping to get at least 1x Male & 1x Female to add some of these very expensive seeds to my seed personal seed stash. Anything else would be a bonus. Hopefully better luck with 4 seeds. Last round I tried 2x Blueberry seeds that I wanted to grow out and ended up with 2x males :( Got a nice bag of pollen though and I'm just past the 3 week mark into breeding some plants with that Blueberry pollen, always a bright side ;)
Best of luck with those Harliquin seeds. I hope you get a nice breeding pair. If no males you could always reverse a female for some S-1's.

It's looking like i might need to check into CMH if it's doing that for you!!

Thanks, have read up on that but I'll let the chips fall where they fall. I try not to screw with mother nature too much beyond the absolute necessities (like lighting indoor - lol). I follow Darwinism, let the strongest survive and all that. It's just something I've observed over the years, whenever we attempt to control or right out ignore mother nature, it comes back to haunt us in some way. Worst case I get some nice smoke to try, maybe a couple of phenos if I'm lucky. I even have a bit of an issue with fem seeds, I could fem them but I don't, just doesn't seem right. Some strains now are only available in fems so I still use them when regs are not available, but I won't make them on purpose.

Can't say enough good things about this CMH, very specifically though, the Elite Agro bulbs. Even though I've only finished one round, I have no doubt they'll repeat the results. With my own experience in trying out a few LED panels (low-end mind you), and a good solid reference with my son's hps grows, these lights for the power they draw are simply unbeatable for the price. Only thing I've seen that would be similar are some of these DIY 3070 COB grows, some Area 51 panels and the current king of LED's imo, the Apache AT600, all of them run in the range of $2.50 - 3.00/watt though. This last run sucked where I ended up with 3 males out of 5 plants so nowhere representative of the potential of this light. Just getting ready to start a full 3x3, maybe 3.5x3.5' footprint in the next week or so, I'll be documenting that one as well, likely under the same thread I have going in my sig. I'll be shooting for at least 1 gpw based on the bulb draw (315w), possibly more.

i WILL follow that.

hey man.. great job... did u use a scope to check trichomes to make sure it was done before chopping or do you go on looks?

just to let u know.. my yields went up 15% just from using a scope. and cutting down when they are actually done swelling and starting to work on just strictly ripening..

and the potency went up soo much .. smell and taste went up a lot more then I thought it would.. most of the smells and tastes and bulk weight come in the last few weeks..

also I ran a ton of autos.. there a waste of space indoors.. compared to other photo periods.. some people like em.. I didn't think they yielded well enough.. the potency wasn't good enough. but hey u never know..

but amazing job for being on a hiatus

Thanks man. Yeah I used a lupe. Pulled the first northern lights a little early, but the bigger one is still growing - gonna give it at least a couple more weeks. The berry ryders were definitely done. They turned amber sooner than I expected but I'm happy w/ the yield. Here's the bigger BR after a couple days of drying (I did a shit job trimming/manicuring lol...):IMAG1030.jpg

Small update - I LST'd Pine Time and added the LED for side lighting on the 2 smaller girls until the bigger Northern Lights comes down:

The northern lights that got pulled first is now in a jar w/ a boveda pack and a hygrometer. Gonna have to keep burping it for a couple days at least (staying right around 67 RH in there).

Your trim job don't look too bad from what I can see. Trimming is something you will get better at with experience. My wife is the best trimmer I know. That bitch has surgeon like skills, lol.

Don't forget to keep the plants rotated with that side lighting. Having that led like that should make a big difference.

Nice haul ayr0n, congrats! Enjoy that NL, hear it has a good punch :)
Thx @GroErr it's definitely got a little more kick than the BR. The buds on the NL's weren't as dense or half as big but they smoke good n have more potency.

Very nice.
Feels pretty good don't it?
Awww yeah
Hello, anybody home?
I'm curious about that LED side lighting. How's that working out?
Haha yeah my bad. The sidelighting seems to be working good, just gotta get these temps figured out. It's a little too hot w/ both lights running right now.
He's too busy rolling and smoking, forgot where he left his laptop ;)
^^^ that too :P

Ohh total dry weight on the 4 plants was 231 grams of bud (not counting what I took out to smoke :P) plus about 2 oz of trim / popcorn.. Got roughly 2oz per plant, but really one was closer to 3 1/2 oz (bigger BR) and another was closer to 3/4 oz (smaller NL). I'm really happy w/ the results on the autos - photos coming next ;)

Glad to see you found your laptop and nice haul ayr0n, good luck on the photo run :)

Just a thought if you have some extra cash at some point. Was looking at the tent size and lighting (32"x32"x63" & 600w hps right?). With that space one of these LEC 315w/CMH lights I'm using would fit very nicely in there, you'd be pulling a total of 380w (@120v) and maximize the output of that light for the space, in other words get the same or similar yield and using 250-300w less power. I know you guys in CA pay through the nose for power, might be worth looking at. Based on what I'm seeing so far in the second run and full 3x3 footprint, if I don't fuck up I should be pulling 12-14 oz, if I kill it I'm looking to hit 454g's from a 315w bulb. Just bought another, it'll finish off my outdoor in the garage (brought them home so I don't get ripped with 3 weeks left) and then go into my flower room to run 4 week perpetual through the winter months :bigjoint:

@ayr0n half a pound on 4 autos. WOW! Nice job. Let the auto haters hate.

@GroErr 1 lb, 315watts. That blows away the GPW goal so many growers try to achieve. I think I'll have to get some of those CMH lights.
3 months ago I would have called me crazy but after seeing what that light did on 2 small plants, I think it's just a matter of finding the right footprint in W x L + height to hit 400g's, + strain(s) to hit that 454. Doubt think I'll hit the 454 only because of JTR, can't see getting more than 3 oz./90g's off that one as it's not a big producer. Pretty sure I can hit 100g's/4 oz. per plant on the PPP though, got 3.4 oz from a 24" plant, these were 30" coming in, tied them down to 24", and they've bounced back to ~28" average height. Will be interesting to see how it fares in this 35" W x 38" L x 28" H footprint which is probably stretching it. Never know, if you go beyond the efficiency of the footprint for any particular light that can drive diminishing returns. Only way to know is to try it though, not a lot of references out there for this light. I think I've found the sweet spot for height above the canopy now. Tried 16" - 18" and was seeing some light bleaching still. Now at 20" - 22" over the canopy and not noticing any bleaching/burn after 3 days (that's all it took for me to notice the initial bleaching). At that height it covers the edges well, the only question is will penetration suffer towards the middle/bottom and will that affect yield? I'm thinking not as I'm already seeing bud development right down to the bottom again, smaller of course than the top canopy but that's normal/expected. Here's an IR camshot of the girls a couple of minutes ago. After only 13 days of 12/12 you can already see the colas taking shape/developing, the speed of flowering is still blowing me away. I think it's a combo of the lights + the 14/10 stretch technique I stumbled upon, they seem to like it :bigjoint:

They should be tasting/smelling nice by now. Had one of those incidents Friday, a friend of a friend was over who doesn't know I grow indoor and smokes daily. Rolled up a JTR spliff that's about 3 1/2 weeks cured and smelling/tasting perfect. She was raving about the taste/smoothness and about 2 minutes in it hit her, looked up with a big smiley on and asked me what the fuck I sprayed them with ;) Shhhh.... I just say I know a guy but it's limited stock and very expensive ;)

Hey Gro, I been looking into those CMH lights. I have some questions. Do they come in anything larger than 315w? I run 600's. How is the heat output? And from what I understand they can be used with a HPS/MH ballast, correct?

@ayr0n sorry for the threadjack.
