Whatdya think? Throw an oscillating fan in there, lay em out spread apart on the rack n just check a couple times a day to see if they're ready for jars? Would you cut the sugar leaves off before or after drying? N what do you typically do w/ the sugar leaves? I don't really want to put them all in a bag n cause mold. Not sure it's even worth trying to salvage all the sugar leaves on these dwarves, might just trash em...I wanted to try making some hash but maybe that can wait for another day

Here's what I got going on:

Quite the fancy setup, don't fret, they'll dry just like they've been drying for thousands of years, a little more refined in your setup but the basics are the same ;)

Don't trash the sugar leaves/trim! You'll thank me later. Just dry them until you're happy with them going into curing jars. Trim them and set aside the trim/sugar, even the popcorn if you don't want to smoke it or have enough, everything except any stalk. By that time, they'll be dry and you shouldn't have to worry about mould. If you're concerned that they're still a bit wet, just put the trim into a separate jar and burp for a while until you're sure it's dry. Over a couple of grows you'll build up some weight and you can then make edibles, hash, oil with it etc. you may not be thinking about this now, but you seem to have the bug, you will want this stuff, it's full of trichs and great for making anything you want from it. Try it, you'll like it, I haven't bought oil, hash or edibles for years. if you don't use gloves or even if you do, keep the finger hash as well, it builds up over time into a nice chunk of super-potent hash, reserved for special occasions, like when you can't sleep and need to pass out in 10 minutes - lol

No. Unless I have to deal with high humidity. The drying net you got is quite common here in NL but for those who dry fast (and want to sell it asap).

The thing with drying and curing advice is that it depends a lot on the environment you grow in. If you live in a very dry area (like 40 or lower) or it's a dry season it's better to leave many leaves on, even the fans, just hang the entire plant up side down, or individual colas. If it's humid (like 60-70) I trim and cut the colas up in smaller nuggets.

I always dry some colas with leaves and some without and the results are quite consistent: more leaves is more taste, less leaves is more risk of hay. But, again, that in my space. I like mine to be dry enough to go into jars within 7-9 days. Less is too fast, more is too risky (again for me).

Point is, you need to find a balance. Try a few different ways and you'll figure out what works best for you this and the next couple of runs. Don't aim fans at it, use the exhaust to circulate the air (I dim my exhaust as needed to control RH).

Mmmmmm, scissor hash. My favorite.

I dry my sugar leaves and popcorn buds in a brown paper bag then cure them. I use them mostly for butter so I can make edibles. Save them till you get enough to do something with. Waste not, want not.

One thing I wanted to mention, pain may not be a problem for you being such a young man, but autos are fucking great for pain. It's the increased CBD that does it. I broke my back and my wife has arthritis and that's the main reason I grow them. Not to mention that they are fun to watch.
You are coming to payback time for all the work you have done. Enjoy my friend.

Good advice on saving the sugar leaves. If however you want to use them asap.... oh... missing albums... was going to point to a post for a simple quick and dirty cheap ice hash method but can't even find it. It works best with fresh trim (so it doesn't crumble and sort of pollute the extract like dry leaves do).

In short:
- Add (fresh) trim and ice to a large pan
- Stir, shake
- Sift the plant material from it
- Let the rest settle
- Siphon off the water (I use a small 4mm tube) without disturbing the settled trichs)
- Throw it on a plate, let it dry, mold it, role it, smoke it, and good night :eyesmoke:

I've done this 4 or 5 times, before I started creating BHO and the results were always topnotch. Similar to finger/scissor hash but seemingly a little cleaner and softer. Better than most of the hash I can buy anyway.

High CBD strains are starting to be more available. Just picked up these Harlequin BX4 to try. Fortunately I don't suffer from any sort of on-going pain but I want to have a high CBD strain for hockey/soccer nights, the older I get the more it hurts when I get off the field, cement (ball-hockey and indoor soccer are brutal on your knees) or ice, this should help, it's supposed to be a 1:1 ratio of THC/CBD, anywhere from 7% to 12% of each :) Bought only 4 seeds as they're expensive but figure I'll run them all and find myself a male for pollen (hate to pay this kind of money for seeds!) and a decent female pheno to clone and keep at least one running for those nights where I'm hurting :(

Yeah will do, will probably post that grow as there seems to be quite an interest in these high CBD strains. Going to be a little while, need to get my cycle right so I have the breeding tent available when I go to run them, if I (hopefully) pop a male there's only a small window I can grow it out for pollen so I need to make sure it will be available.

I'll be intrested for a while no matter how long it takes to get going, growing, and results in. You know where to find me. Shoot me a link if you journal the prosses, if not PM me info on them when you have it.

I just cut the small one down completely. Probably could have gone longer but there's some Amber trichs, and I'll let the big one go a while longer before touching it then harvest tht one in stages. I'd say the small one I cut down will be roughly 1.5 oz dry if they lose 2/3 of the weight during dry / cure. Can't call it a complete success until it's cured and rolled up but I'm feeling pretty Damn good right now :)

The first two pics are with the flash on so they don't look right but the 3rd pic is closer to what it looks like irl

Calibrating the hygrometers, jars n boveda packs on deck...so close but so far lol. Small buzzkill tho - my girl flipped out because the entire house stunk after trimming the little BR. Gonna have to figure something out or just try and time harvests out when she'll be gone for a while :/

That sure is frosty. Looks like a lit of fun. Savor it you only get one first.

Stinks so good.
Harvest is the most dangerous time for getting caught. We only harvest on Sunday evenings with a lot of candles burning.

Ohhh I will lol. Cannot wait. Luckily I think I've got the drying tent dialed in to do a nice slow dry which should hopefully make for a good smoke. Got the humidity down low enough to not worry about mold but high enough that they don't just dry right out. Just gotta remember to empty out the dehumidifier lol.

I think your guess on yield was a lot closer than mine. If all 7 of the girls made it to harvest I would be way over the 5oz goal. W/ these 4 probably still hit at least 6-7. Didn't realize how much bud was forming down lower on these ladies. 600w might be overkill for the 32"x32" tent but w/ the temps in check it seems to be really penetrating the canopy and beefing up the lower nodes without any negative affect from excessive light/heat. Contemplating throwing the LED up for side lighting to finish these other girls up and then maybe germinate these 2 Jack Herer X AK47 autos.

Can't thank you guys enough for helping me make this grow a success - big thanks to @polo the don , @GroErr and @Sativied for all the tips and info.

Yeah the odor is ridiculous. Maybe I'll try out the candles when the big BR gets chopped. Trimming is no joke. I thought those guys in Humboldt trimming for a living had it made dealing w/ weed all day but that shit is NOT fun lol. Gotta pick up some gloves or something cuz I coulda damn near climbed the wall like Spiderman last night by the time they were all trimmed down. Hard AF to get it off your hands too

Yeah, terrible problem to have stinking up the house. My GF lives the trimming which is great cause I don't - lol Looks like we may be trimming up the JTR, she looks ready to go. I find trimming after it dries easier and most of the heavy smell is gone by then. BTW: Just any sort of vegetable oil rubbed in well will get rid of any resin left in your fingers. I don't bother with gloves unless I'm going to sit there for hours. Haven't had to do that for a while since I have up outdoor guerrilla grows. Now it's just a couple of plants at a time which isn't too bad. Enjoy and keep that trim! Or send it my way - lol

Haha I did keep most of the trim and threw all the small popcorn buds in w/ it. I manicured half of the bigger buds and left the other half w/ their leaves on to see the difference in the dry/cure. This is all still surreal, doing this legally...Feel like a fucking kid on Christmas morning loool

Ohhh man wish I knew that last night. Thanks for the tip. Dawn wasn't cutting it :\ Prob washed my hands a dozen times n just gave up

 Well said. I enjoy it for like 10-15 minutes and then I look at the rest I still have to trim... I use nearly pure alcohol (same stuff I use for bho) to wash my hands afterwards.

Enjoy the homegrown harvest! :weed:

Yea don't feel like the Lone Ranger, most of us HATE trimming. Like @GroErr my wife loves to trim. She says it helps her relax and forget about the daily stresses of her job. Good thing she likes because I chop 6 every other week from the perpetual grow, not to mention our personal tents. It literally makes my dick hard to watch a bad bitch trim up a donkey dick cola.

One thing I do is wear gloves to trim, put them in the freezer for a couple hours and the resin just peels off. I fucking love finger/scissor hash. So flavorful.

A good dry and cure and your on your way.

Hell yeah. She's got u feeling like Denzel in American Gangster over there - that's what's up. Might need your wife to give my girl some coaching cuz all I'm getting is a "that fucking stinks" and "what do you need alllll that weed for?!" Lmao.
