btw
the rockwool works great also and youd be fine in a 6" cube for those good size plants but...

if you require a stealth set up the rockwool is a pain in the ass to dispose of

soil and coco you can toss on the ground but rockwool isn't so easy and I don't like going to the trash dump with large bags of wasted cubes every couple months
if you toss them into a fire they'll get nice and dry and light weight but its a pain

the grow rocks can be re-used but its a total fucking pain to clean them and each time you re-use them they seem to collect more and more salts building up... but it wont be any easier throwing that stuff out either when the time comes lol

I think my math on how much water ytoull need was off

30 minutes will only give you 1/2 gallon water... that plenty for a 6" rockwool cube but for coco it migh tbe different

ive not grown in coco but maybe for coco youll water 1 gallon volume for the entire day per plant...im not sure exactly, ask around

I think @ttystikk grows in coco

I have used Tupur, which is a mix that does much to mitigate the problems of coco by itself. Tupur is nearly impossible to overwater, but once it's good and wet the grower needs to let it dry out. This is best accomplished by sizing the container and the plant in it appropriately so watering intervals are easier to manage.

tupur

that's new to me... is that like a peat base mix?

the idea was to water a bit less than what he would need if using rocks or roughly about what rockwool would require so if he switches to dtw hes not going thru tons of solution

Tupur Royal Gold; coco, perlite and composted forest litter. Very tolerant of high EC and imperfect pH of nutrient solutions.

I placed my pots in deep dish drip trays. The excess would drain through and then be drawn back up. Worked great!

im not sure its hard to tell

drgood what size pots are those in your system?

@ttystikk how large a plant would you recommend for his container size? as in finished canopy size,

do you think 4 plants per 4x4 or 5x5 area under 1 light would work well for that container size and a coco/perlite mix?

I don't see his container size. How big?
