Dry sift tumbler

I've been using a small DIY tumbler that I made out of a drum humidifier for years and it works great, the screen was bought at an art store, no ideal what size. I want to build a bigger unit but not sure what size screen I need to do it in one run with a good grade of sift at the end. Any help would be appreciated.

First off the size of the screen is only part of it

its the size of the head of the trichomes that you are trying to catch that matters and that can vary from strain to strain and grower to grower

I have a 7 bag system and the 120 is what i like it works great for what i grow

I would buy a 90 and a 120 and see what works best for you and what you are running through it

Well the thing is I was going to make this thing pretty big so was kinda hoping to do a "one drum does it all" kinda thing. So a 120 would let all sizes of heads to pass through correct? Would a 120 size give me say a black Afgani type lol. Thats what I get now but have no clue what size it is.

I do the 120 but then I put it in a 45 so all of the small leaf pices fall out of the good stuff and I keep whats left inside of the 45 and discard or use for eddables the stuff that made it through the 45

So let me get this straight. The heads are bigger than 45 microns so they stay behind and the plant material is smaller. Wow, really, learn something new every day. I just assumed trichs were the smallest things.

ya I do a lot of bubble bag stuff (7bag set up 220,160,120,90,72,45,25) and I always end up with real green crapy stuff in the 45 and 25 straight leaf green fine chunks of broken up leaf there may be some trics in there but not enough for me to worry about

again this does depend on the size of the trics

Never just straight forward easy lol. Well again the screen I have now seems to produce some pretty good product but perhaps leaving behind the bigger ones. I guess I would see that in the drum after tumbling though and I've never noticed. I typically throw my popcorn (not broken up) in and throw the whole tumbler in the chest freezer for a couple of days. Then the leftovers go into the extractor. I was hoping for a three foot by two foot drum but may rethink that and make two bit smaller ones.
