I want some gas lol, but all of these Kosher and OG#18 reviews talk about fruity. Have these strains always been fruity? Like I said, I really only ran Kandy Kush but I've ran it like 5 different times. Nothing sweet about it, maybe a hint of lemon but it was pine/skunk from across the house lol... I'm looking for some offensive odors lol...
I was surprised by the fruity taste too. I asked if that was common in kosher and everyone said same like you, "kosher should be funky"

So it may have been a random seeds just labeled as sour kosher? Thats why I hate anything not in breeders original packaging.

This is exactly why I was excited to see Crockett offer Kosher OG and Sour Kosher in his line. I found them at Hembra genetics, a U.S seed bank. https://hembragenetics.com/seeds/page/2/?filter_breeder=crockett-family-farms&query_type_breeder=or

I guess I should rename this thread to:

What are the best seeds you can buy for $50
That's a big question which deserves a good answer.

Best . . . Yield? Potency? Taste? High? Growth? Value?

Best value – and one of the most underrated breeders out there, IMO – is Paradise Seeds.

Spending $40 on 16 seeds (and I know I'm late to the party and the OP has already bought his seeds) might seem like a bargain, but if you only have limited experience and room to grow, then you want seeds that don't disappoint – you don't want to waste your time and limited resources sorting through average seeds and plants looking for something to keep. You want a plant that is robust and easy to grow, gives good yields to make it worth your while, and has a kind high with top-shelf potency and a bit of flavour.

Mostly, you want consistency – something Paradise Seeds is renowned for. They really don't have any bad strains, it's just that some are real stand-outs and need to be grown to be appreciated.

Paradise Seeds Wappa ticks all theses boxes, and they're a bargain at US$65 for 10 femmed seeds or $40 for 5.

We have a Wappa clone that we've kept for almost 10 years now that was found with another keeper in a pack of 10 femmed – but they were all pretty uniform, so you're guaranteed to find a nice plant in a pack of 5. Wappa consistently outgrows anything we've thrown against it and is almost impossible to kill. The high is right up there: strong but not paranoid; relaxing but functional – a nice balance between head and body that you can smoke almost any time.

I've tried the OG18 and it is a bit finnicky to grow. It stretches and produced average yields. The taste is incredible and the high is strong, but not particularly kind. It's not what I'd describe as a beginner's plant, but I think it deserves some of the hype it gets.

Having said that, it's no Sensi Star < If you want to grow a real indica that gives decent yields, great taste and knocks you the fuck out, Paradise Seeds Sensi Star should be near the top of your list. But it's not cheap, which is why I suggested Wappa.

^ This is Sensi Star (mislabelled as Acid, which is another nice strain).

If you're after pure flavour, Luc has some Thin Mint GSC crosses that are also in the $50 range ($47 for 5x femmed seeds):

El Dorado (TM GSC x OG Kush): https://www.cannabis-seeds-bank.co.uk/paradise-seeds-el-dorado-og/prod_6694

Tangerine Sorbet (TM GSC x Wappa): https://www.cannabis-seeds-bank.co.uk/paradise-seeds-tangerine-sorbet/prod_7563

These two are on my list and (hopefully) on their way from Attitude to be grown over the next couple of months.

On a related note, I've tried Tangie, Chocolope, Tangielope from DNA and they were all fine, but there are other sativas I prefer. From THSeeds I've grown SAGE and a couple of crosses and it's nice but I prefer others. I mainly grow sativas, so I can't comment much on the indica side of things.

The main thing I like about Paradise Seeds is that most of his strains are very uniform and I've never had any bad experiences with his genetics. No nasty surprised like hermies or runty plants, and the potency and quality of high are ALWAYS there.

Seen a pack of reg Tangieland grow.. it had a couple nice phenos including a purple pheno and one plant that was a Tangie leaner that I really enjoyed the taste a lot. I also grew out a seed of cherry 18 but it was a runt, good smoke though. I’ve got 1 more seed of the cherry 18, gonna pop it next round.

Grew some DNA LA Confidential many many years ago. Scored them from the Ontario Seed Bank back in '02 with a few other unknown breeders and "smuggled" them back into the states. All 6 popped, 1 male, 5 females, and they were all pretty much the same style pheno, short, squat, low yielding, but outrageous stank, and great high. My buddy and I had clones going for almost 8 years before spider mites wiped out both our grows. Being a traveling installer at the time was the worst for growing, literally on a 4 day trip and when we got back, our plants were beyond help. Been out of the "game" for a few years, getting back into it, new light showed up Tuesday, new packs from Humboldt showed up today, and started cleaning the old "hidden" room. Time to head back down and finish it up so I can get it some growing!'!!!!!!,!!!!!!!!

I got this , and it's in the start of week 6 . I grew this @ 12-14ish. I have to smoke it to give it an honest comparison.

DNA Genetics/Reserva Privada: ive only tried the skywalker OG, incredible potency but every single plant hermied on me. i was able to only save 2 out of the 6 pack without ruining my grow and had to pick nanners off like crazy around week 4-5. It is my only experience with them. Fire ass weed, horrible plants.

TH Seeds: I have much experience with them too and I am not a big fan personally. I am not badmouthing other breeders by any means, just sharing my experiences. MK Ultra - all 5 were so different, you wouldnt believe they were the same strain. One runt ass plant that had amazing smoke, and 4 big boiz that were straight hay of various flavors. Citron Givré I pulled one nice pheno out of a 5 pack but the other ones hermied on me. Heavy. Decent smoke but nothing to write home about. Chicle, meh. watered down versions of BBG and Chem, not a great combo. Bubblegum I had a 5 pack that none of them germinated at all. Im still sitting on a 10 pack for my bubblegum project but I have the Indiana clone now so who knows what will happen with these beans.

As others have said, Archive, Cannardo, etc. There are plenty of better breeders than some of the big box ones. But some big box ones are great. As you have said you used Barney's Farm, they have given nothing but incredible results for me through and through. Same with Amsterdam Genetics, I cant reccommend either of those two seed companies enough. Barneys Blueberry OG is a sick yielder and great smoke which would be right up your alley.

I know everyone has different experiences due to the nature of popping seeds, but Barney’s is famous for white labeling shit

I've grown DNA's Holy Grail for about 6 years. If you can find a decent yielding pheno, it's hard to beat. Love Mk-Ultra and Tangie also.
I've got some DNA Holy Grail Kush on the way, as well as some Kushberry and some OG Kush freebies. I was impressed with the OG18 so figured the Holy Grail should tick a few boxes.
