DNA Genetics vs. TH Seeds

Hi everyone,

New here but not a complete newbie. I'm about to start my fourth grow, and want to do my first photoperiod grow. I've only grown autos (Mephisto, FastBuds, Barneys), and I've only grown in coco+perlite (dtw).

Now that I've got the basics down, I want to grow like a purist. I want to try going full no til with supersoil.

Anyway, I'm about to buy my first pack of photos. Money is tight, so I'm looking at packs that are on sale or just are cheap in general. I'm between th seeds (either mk bubbleultra or critical hog) via seedsherenow and dna genetics (the og #1 via northatlanticseeds.

Growing indoors, small 3x2x5 tent, and a 200watt viaspectra LED plus a 100 watt HLG.

Any preferences between these breeders? I've seen them on the threads of best breeders, but I've also seed some more mixed reviews. Would really appreciate any advice/suggestions/recs

Id go to glo order some clearwater/cannarado fems if your usa .. its the best bang for buck his sales cant be beat. Lots of info on both breeders in threads here.

Between those two, I'd pick DNA. There are better seeds out there to be had, but Tangie is pretty tasty. I had some killer OG18 earlier this year too, it surprised me-but, my buddy selected that plant and he's pretty picky.

One American breeder that my friend grows with regularly is Solfire...they have 3 packs at North Atlantic Seed Company for $60. I'm not that up to date on the popular American breeders, but he showed me an amazingly beautiful plant of theirs that he's growing the other day, I should have taken a pic. But yeah, he just sprouted one seed and it blows anything I've seen from DNA or THCseeds out of the water. Could have been a fluke plant though. Trying to remember the strain....oh, I should just text him lol

DNA might have more "top shelf" genetics but they also throw a lot of nuts and it's a tossup on if you will get a clean plant. I've grown several of their varieties.

TH Seeds is the better of the 2 because they have very good genetics and quite a bit more stability in their fem lines IMO.

With DNA you can get a possible top shelf plant. With TH Seeds you might find a keeper and have zero problems with your grow.

All the new stuff I've been getting has either been from Heisenbeans @ Greenpoint Seeds or Twenty20 Mendocino @ GLG seed bank.

I was looking at Solfire as well. Their colors look pretty but from what I've seen they're not the best yielders? I can only grow one photo at a time so I want the best yielder possible without sacrificing quality

Has anyone grown critical hog or any of the mk ultra strains from th seeds?

I was looking at og #18 from DNA bc I love og hybrids and the description says it's a much better yielder than classic og

You always have to do pheno hunting from seed. 100% of the time.

If you love OG, grow Karma genetics.

Yes for sure..the dna at 50 for a 3pack is wack. GLO seedbank has clearwater specials and certain packs are like 65 each for a 10seeds when you grab 2 packs. Go to the glo thread and ask for latest deals email. Or email gloseedbank. Then see whats on sale. Go to clearwater genetics thread here and figure which packs to get. And there gonna be hype strains and newer genetics.

If your international and not usa based i dont recommend glo cuz shipping times are 1month minimum

Can you really pheno hunt in a 3x2 though? I would love to do things "properly" but I'm worried about space

I grew hog back in 2004. It was ok but small slow growing small yield.

I've also done several critical + crosses and they've all been flavorful with decent yields.

Never had to wait that long in the past but heard he has been slow this last few weeks.

My last order from them was in sept, early October and got seeds in a couple weeks.
