I have grown a lot of both TH Seeds and DNA genetics. A lot. There are plenty of very solid plants coming from TH Seeds, but as far as straight up fire, not really. DNA has some straight up fire ass plants, but sometimes it might be 1 out of 3 that is fire and the other 2 are OK.. But even their OK is almost as good as TH Seeds "good". Usually (at Attitudes) the DNA promotions include the "DNA Family" which is crocket farms and Reserva Privada. I would pass on RP, but Crocket Farms has some really nice strains. DNA's Holy Grail Kush has been consistent fire for me, decent size and good bud.

Any advice on pheno hunting when space is extremely limited? Should I just cull the grunts and keep the fastest growers until only one fits?
The fastest plants aren't always the best at producing quality flowers. I would just keep plants in perpetual clones for veg if you're worried about space. Base your selections on what YOU really want. Speed isn't worth much, watch how your plants mature, as some plants will improve as they age, terps and overall physical impressions can alter over time. Some bud is only good for a few grows before it expresses some of the nastier/hemp characteristics.

Of course, but I can hardly fit more than one flowering photo, so it’s not clear to me what to select on before flower

Hi everyone,

New here but not a complete newbie. I'm about to start my fourth grow, and want to do my first photoperiod grow. I've only grown autos (Mephisto, FastBuds, Barneys), and I've only grown in coco+perlite (dtw).

Now that I've got the basics down, I want to grow like a purist. I want to try going full no til with supersoil.

Anyway, I'm about to buy my first pack of photos. Money is tight, so I'm looking at packs that are on sale or just are cheap in general. I'm between th seeds (either mk bubbleultra or critical hog) via seedsherenow and dna genetics (the og #18) via northatlanticseeds.

Growing indoors, small 3x2x5 tent, and a 200watt viaspectra LED plus a 100 watt HLG.

Any preferences between these breeders? I've seen them on the threads of best breeders, but I've also seed some more mixed reviews. Would really appreciate any advice/suggestions/recs :)
If youve grown barneys then youll be right at home with those two seedbanks. Cheaper seeds, unstable genetics, a few hermies along the way, with some plants producing some fairly good bud. I grew th darkstar years ago and i thought it sucked but it was only one seed

I guess I should rename this thread to:

What are the best seeds you can buy for $50
The archive seedbank expedition series that I linked on the first page or 707seedbank kush cleaner crosses are all within that price range and probably some of the best mainstream seeds you can buy for that price. Archives are fems, the 707 seeds are regular.

I just ordered Crockett Family Farms from Seedsherenow. Crockett is now the vice president of DNA, so they are all connected. Crockett is using Serious Seed's Bubble Gum(same as TH Seeds) and they are calling it their "Strawberry" strain. I'm just putting it out there and I don't have any real info until I pop these seed packs and grow them out, but my last pack of Tangie was def on point...

I have extensive experience with DNA and love their stuff... but I'm currently running a pheno hunt with th seeds and this stuff looks fire. I wiukd say as long as you crack a few seeds your safe with either.

Check it out.

I got 2 lemon skunks going now and they're mids. Not impressed so far
I got a pack of their Golden Lemons when they first released and I wasn't impressed. However, it is one of their more popular strains now. It's been about 4yrs since their release and something might have changed? My only complaint was that it didn't have much smell/flavor, everything else about it was nice...

I will seriously do a backflip right now if you told me that this is a legit seed pack. My #1 favorite strain was RP's Kandy Kush prior to 2016. I bought several seed packs of it over the years and it was always quality until then. Please tell me that this has an over-the-top funk to it! Mine didn't really stick out until I was curing it, but my whole house smelled like skunk and there was no denying it. It was probably the funkiest strain that I have grown. It smelled of skunk, pine, cedar, and a hint of lemon. It really had the OG thing going for it too. I gave up on trying to find it again, but it seems like DNA might have breathed life back into their old strains??? I mean, if they really got OG#18 back on the market and doing well, then Kandy Kush might be a winner again. I'm sorry, but this post get me very excited lol... Please tell me that Kandy Kush is back in action, Please lol!!!

1 has a decent smell but no lemon, the other has very little smell to her. Both at about 4 wks 12/12. I wasn't expecting much though so not to disappointed. But would have like to find a nice lemon leaner.

Still, that is since Reserva Privada went downhill. Crockett became VP of DNA in 2019 and it seems like he got the ship back on course. If you got legit seeds of Kandy Kush in 2018, I will still be very excited and probably buy a pack of my own! I don't know the full story, but I think that RP's breeders left and created Elemental Seeds and I'm not sure if they will ever have their elite genetics again??? However, DNA/CFF seem to be a lot more connected... Is your Kandy Kush on elite levels or is it mediocre? My cousin kept bragging about a bag that he got off of me and he had to put it in the freezer to try to keep the smell down, but you could still smell it as soon as you opened his front door and that was only a 1/4-1/2oz. It should have extreme funk.
