Hey guys, so i got the other lights in today. I thibk i may have a problem though. I have, in front of me, an HVGC-320-1400A driver. The input volts says 200-480vac. I have a power outlet that i dont have a meter to. But im in the us. Pretty sure that means its 110v, would i have to wire up a 220 outlet for it to run?

Really? They should be universal, so 60-270VAC is normal for a driver

Sorry bro, you got the wrong one. You need the HLG version, not the HVGC. Your input voltages per spec sheet for the one in your hand is: 180 ~ 528VAC

But in theory, i could wire up a 220 outlet to power this driver, could i not? The ouput voltages are the exact same so they would power them the same as the hlg but just draw 220 instead of 110. Correct?

yes,you will need 240v outlet in the usa for that to work,but it looks good

Sweet. Only down side is that i dont have an inline timer. Only ones i have are the "plug in" 110v outlet timers. How would i put a timer on the driver? Instead of wiring up a 220 outlet, i tapped right i to the 220 circuit (wasnt being used) already on the panel. The driver only pulls 1.8a. So i know its not going to pop the breaker. But there in lies the dilemma. Now i cant put a timer on them. Ideas? Comments? Advice?most of these meanwell drivers are more efficient at 240v,its the only way i run them

And another question just arose. I have 8 fans i want to run, 4 iceled ultra 12vdc-230mA and 4 cpu fans mounted above the existing pin fin heatsinks. I need 2 drivers, but which ones should i get to run 4 fans a piece?

You'll have a better setup than 98% of us in here! 220-240v power source is definitely option A in the US for the voltages we run, so thats awesome you can upgrade it yourself. Will you use a twist lock or dryer plug?

You could run the ultras with a charger you may find around your house, any 12v dc converter with 1a (1a=1000ma) output will work. Just cut the connector and wire the fans parallel. Same with the other ones, just count the milliamps and check the sticker on a 12v driver/adapter you're looking at.

Neither. Tapped directly into the breaker box using the pre-existing 220 circuit, (was for a dryer, but i dont have one so its not being used).
But if i wanted to simplify things and just have one driver instead of 4 plugs, which would be suitable? The apv-12-12?

Not sure what you mean by 4 plugs, but to answer your question about how to wire all the fans with one driver, you just need a 12v supply with more amperage. I'm not sure of the draw on the other fans, but I cant imagine you would need more than 3a supply for all your fans, so the below could work for example. Keep in mind, your fans need to have the same ma/amperage draw when wiring in parallel. Ideally all the same thing

You could run that 240v to a sub panel just for the grow. Then you would have a few dedicated breakers for everything. As for the lights, I would run a light controller. They have a 120v trigger wire for your timer.

This is a terrible idea,you should install a lower breaker for 1,like 20 amp and run a 240 outlet.then you can buy a 240v plug in timer for the driver.as it sits right now it would probably melt the driver before that 40 amp breaker tripped.

Well dully noted. I will swap out the breakers today. And install an 240 outlet. This weekend ill get a timer and install that too. But here she is. Im going to be getting some clones this weekend from a good friend, so this closet grow will be fully stocked for a sog/scrog.
Edit: there is alot of loose wires hanging in the pic, those are the fan wires, that i dont have the drivers for quite yet. But i did order 2 of those power adapters from ebay. So just gotta wait for em.

So they got the bug fixed so i can add more pics. And fill yuh in on the new changes. So i took the 2nd light bar i got and put it into its own dedicated flower room that i built on the other side of my veg closet. So i have one in the closet for veg and one in its own little 5×6 room for flower with another 4 cobs and driver on the way. I want to fill that flower room up completely. So ill have a 4 cob veg light and an 8 cob flower room. Shits going to be insane. As far as what i have for pictures heres the latest. With more to come tonight after they kick back on. Took some clones off the big gal in the back. Shes a tangerine dream from barneys i sprouted. Next one is the midnight fire og seed i found in some medical bud i picked up from the dispensary. With a green crack and sour og in cups readying the clones for transplant, with a few currant kush clippings im experimenting with. I want to see how long it takes them to root or start rooting in water with a small amount of rooting liquid mixed in. A friend swears by this method and i want to see if its worth doing. Then its the cloning chamber. Which has a shit ton of my currant kush clippings, a few of the tangerine dreams, a couple green cracks, a pineapple chunk, a sour og, and a blue dream.
