TNT?

No worries, and thanks for the info. I am not going to stalk him. :0)

I just checked and only a few have not popped.

Funny, but the Blue OG just might be retarded. I thought that perhaps
it had popped up, but it seemed as if it had no top at all....a closer look
confirmed that it was the tap root! Shooting straight up and out of the
soil, like a sprout.

I am hoping that it gets itself figured out. lol

Take care,

JD

Good morning.

I thought to post a photo of the crazy tap-root, shooting straight up.

I see this morning that the top has appeared as well. This is good news.

I did not capture it well, but, from the side, it looks like the classic Loch Ness Monster profile.

Here is the tray as of today:

Both OG Kush and Purple Wreck have popped. Only one of the Sense BBs and
both of the Cannaventures PB-BXs have failed to pop at this point.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Hey just a newbie here, but that blue og from g13, my bro has one and its doing the same thing and is growing weird now(twisted leaves and sickly), but still to small to tell if it will come out of it. Your purpleberry looks exactly like ones I've experienced. How did your purpleberry taste? The three I tried all tasted like burnt wood, and was not very potent. Had hoped to use the genetics for the color, but have yet to get a male, popped three beans-got three femmies. The hunt continues. It's kind of like searching for the golden ticket. Slow growth and below average yield, but they are beautiful plants. cheers nice job everything looks tasty.

Hello,

Welcome aboard.

Well, I have to admit that I did not find the "Crunchberries" pheno either.

My PurpleBerry is not all that tasty, or strong, that I have noticed in sampling.

I am hoping that a bit more flavor will come out in the cure.

It was not surprising in a way as the PB was the weakest of the plants...the
mother is too, and I expect that the monstrous Deadhead OG will be happily
using some of it's air-space.

I can add that one of the new PurpleBerry beans has popped, so I might be
able to give it a new chance this time.

The other PB that I got last time was extremely strong, but was a male.
I intend to capture pollen if this happens again.

Take care,

JD

I still got 4 beans of the purple and I'm hoping for a nice strong male so I can try to mix it with something tasty. Good Luck and thanks for the quick response. I'll keep my eyes open for that blue og, to see what that does for you. Hopefully great.

Well, eight days later and the stretch is raging:

Recall that this is eight days ago:
ScreenUsed.jpg

The Deadhead #2, in the middle position, is the Queen of this grow,
but the back row is very exciting as well.

It is, from left to right, Chem 4 OG, Deadhead #1, and Somango:

I also switched to the HPS bulb finally.

Here is the full-view:

Is your Somango from Soma's line or is it from a newer company?

Just curious as I was recently contemplating about Soma seeds. I notice their no longer at places like attitude, just wondering if Soma still made beans. Or hell, even if he is still alive and kicking. Guess I'll google him.(mini rant, sorry) Cheers.

EDIt: Duh I just rechecked the 'tude, and turns out Soma seeds are still around. Guess I just kept overlooking him because of all these new companies. My bad! I'm a big dummy.

No worries. You are cool.

They are indeed Soma Somango.

I was gifted with one bean by an online (but good) friend.

He got pinched some time there after. I would love to lay
this baby on him when he is ready to restart!

I grew out the Somango two grows ago, and it was soooo tasty.
I am considering it a keeper for now.

Hello all,

It is two weeks since the flip.

I am hoping that the stretch is coming to an end. I know
that is has slowed.

The Deadheads exploded the most, with the Somango and Chem 4 OG
in second place.

You can see that they are getting up there:
TheStretch.jpg

You can see that the two tallest tops are actually the DH #2 in the back:
Week2.jpg
That is the Chem 4 OG in the left corner, and Somango in the right.

All of my beans but one of the Sensi Blueberrys popped and transferred
to the cups just fine:
PoppedBeansAndClones.jpg

So, I will have a crazy crop coming up. Skywalker, OG Kush, Purple Wreck,
LA Confidential, Headband, Kosher Kush, Sensi Jack Herer and BB.

I also am trying PurpleBerry again.

Onward and upward,

JD

Looking good JD. I know you normally SOG instead of SCROG? Have you done both in the past? If so which do you prefer? Judging by the cups I'd say the next run will be SOG again. I'll be looking forward to seeing that next run.

Thank you both for the good word. I am glad to have you here.

FWIW, I do not consider myself to have really grown a true SCROG yet,
as what I have now was applied at the flip and not before. There was
not the growth into the screen that a SCROG really implies.

My screen is more for support of the tops than it is to train them...
...this being said, I did use the screen to redirect a few tops as I lowered it.

I have leaned toward SOG so far. I think that a SOG really fits the needs
of the new grower whose eyes are bigger than their growing skills. LOL
I had a slew of breeds in 36 2 gallon pots.

I had great luck for the first such SOG and got massive buds that I am
still enjoying.....but the next crop suffered as seen in this thread.

So, I am in 5 gallon buckets for the time being.

I need to use a separate small screen for each bucket. It is nearly impossible
to get real access to the back plants. The upside is that everything
looks very happy.

Onward and upward,

JD

P.S. The cups are a temporary location.

I am trying to add more up-potting to a grow.

I believe that this can help improve the final root-ball.

I have an embarrassment of riches, as everything popped fine.

I will have to find a female of both the Sensi breeds and the
Cannaventure PurpleBerry BX. I have promised myself to
grab some PB BX pollen if I get a male again. I will need
to think about a temporary tent in the garage, away from
the ladies. (and with filtration)

The problem is that I am wanting more and more to do more
Veg work and to reduce to even four plants. Honestly, this
would be optimal for the tent size that I have.

BUT with all those Kushes ready to go, I am sure that I will
do another 3X3 array.

If I can take them out to work on them, ie. I have managed the
separate screen issue, then I ought to do fine.

Hey Stevie,

I did chop all the mothers, about a few weeks before I put them into the tent,
with the idea of ending up with the needed height (this is part of why the tops
are such a jungle).

It looks like I just may have gotten it right, as the highest the top will get looks
to be near as high as they should get to the lights.

If the highest of the central DH tops get to close to the light, then I will start
tying them over, in the direction of the one open slot in the array.

Let me add, for all to consider, that this is my *predicted* plan:

PLAN:
===================================================

Week 01: Jul 10: Pro-Blend Flower + etc

Week 06: Aug 14: Pro-Blend Flower + etc + Overdrive + Strapped
Week 07: Aug 21: Pro-Blend Flower + etc + Overdrive + Strapped
Week 08: Aug 28: water
