Looking great java! I like the 5 gallon bucket myself when it comes to hempy. For the space im working with it works perfect.

Nice work too on those "budsicles" things are BIG man.

Thanks Bros.

Yeah, I appreciate looking back over Crop #3 to the AK and Somango harvest.

I expect to get a yield similar to that.

Man, but I am worried about head-space. I am in the process of flipping, and
will be at 12/12 in two days.

...but the Deadhead #2, in the center, is already *exploding*. It likes the
new home, obviously, but I am worried about the stretch.

I may be having to bend that plants tops over.

I have a screen. I got one with holes to large for really shaping the plants, with
a grid with maybe a 6" wide mesh. With my one free slot in the tent, I am
sure that I can at least use it to make the DH go to the side.

Here they are as of today:
Crop4-NewGrowth1.jpg
Very strong!

Even though you can see the DH in the middle of the photo above, you can
see how fast it is going better here:

Looks really nice man. I like the cleanliness and order of it all. A clean garden is a happy garden. Have a great grow. Peace out.

Its looking very lush in there indeed java. I was having some issues with height myself with this current grow, all i did was super crop the branches that were getting to high and it worked out fine. Good luck

LOL. I did that (chop them down, that is) a couple of
weeks ago. The new pots are making for an explosion.
I do not want to cut the ladies after I flip, so I am just
going to go for it.

I have had something of an epiphany. I am not going
to accept the current setup, and will rework it. This will
get as much as 8 more inches of head-space.

I also had a minor brainstorm about my screen.

First, I was finding that my netting is very limp and was
likely to not provide real support, away from the corners
where it would be attached.

I thought to use canes threaded through the sides.

Then I thought to attach the netting to the boards that I am using to
keep the sides of the tent out while under negative pressure.
(see the photos above)

Then it hit me. I will just attach the four boards to each other.
(they were previously just taped to the vertical tent-poles)
Then I will suspend the resulting "ring" from each corner of
the tent.

I will attach the netting to the boards, using wood screws.

I might even use the cheap ass netting for the beans out back,
and string a new grid. (the typical way).

I am also going to use this action to swap the newer can-fan
into the tent and my DIY filter out.

The upshot is that I am going to rework the filter, fan, lamp,
and ducting so that the light can be hung right from the top,
without the ratchet-ropes involved.

I will be back on one fan and one filter, but expect better results.
(the "skunk" smell was occasionally smelt when walking up to
my place)

This will take some time, but I will post photos when I can.

Take care,

JD

I got mine one sale some time ago for under $250.

It was a hot price. I jumped on two.

I want to try more LED, for the power savings, but will
step into it as I go.

Take care,

I wanted to add that I decided to drop some seeds into the cool new
germination tray from Burpee that arrived the other day.

It is the one with the clones in a photo above.

I watched the peat in the tray and it's color is showing that it is staying
nicely damp, without getting soaked. Thanks Gigs!

I went nutso, and dropped one bean of each of:
Sensi Seeds Jack Herer
Sensi Seeds Blueberry
DNA LA Confidential
Reserva Privada Skywalker Kush
Reserva Privada Kosher Kush
Reserva Privada Sour Kush AKA Headband
Reserva Privada OG #18
Reserva Privada OG Kush
Reserva Privada Purple Wreck
G13 Labs Blue OG
Cannaventure PurpleBerry BX

(well, two beans of the PB BX, but I want to work that one)

I am thinking that one or two will not pop, but even if they do,
they can each get a 5 gallon hempy in the tent.

I am going to start my plants, seeds and clones, in beer cups,
allowing me to do some selection before space is committed.

Take care,

JD

P.S. Oh yeah, and the popped the Cannaventure's Mothers Mix as well.

Now that is a professional laundry list there Java!! Got some of my faves from RP and I`ve been working that Sensi Jack, so I can attest to it`s greatness. Will be nice to see a straight LA Con grow out since I finish the Cataract Kush this week, and have a very LA dominant pheno there, looks excellent. ATB Java, best of luck with that great seed list,

LOL, thanks KC. It is nice to have you here.

I just saw all my new open space, where the large moms had
been sitting under four long T-8s, and wanted to start some new
breeds.

I started out trying to pick between Headband and Purple Wreck
when I just thought to go for it and pop everything I wanted to start.

I will likely have at least four or five breeds that will have to wait, but
I want to work on Veg time more anyway.

Take care,

JD

Hello all,

Well, I bit the bullet hard, and made all of the changes that I planned.

I had to take everything out of the tent to get it done.

I swapped in the newer Can-Fan filter.

I reattached the light at the highest point possible, and have set aside the pull-ups.
This also required repositioning the fan and re-doing the ducting.

Here is the new layout:
NewHeadSpaceSetup.jpg

I also took the four boards that I had been using to keep the sides
of the tent from pulling in too much and I attached them to each other,
and setup ropes to hang it in the tent. Then I set screws into it and used
them to weave a support/training screen.

Here is the new screen:
Screen.jpg

A shot of its attachment:
ScreenMount.jpg

The screen in place:
ScreenUsed.jpg
The ladies had a pretty odd day today, but I am sure that they
will grow into the screen nicely.

I probably will want to clean their lower areas a tad.

Take care,

JD

Hey,

Can anyone remind me of the thread where Giggles was suggesting
the Burpee Seed Germ Tray?

I got one and want to report, and thank him again for the tip.

These things are amazing.

I set it up, empty, and watched it for a week.

The moisture level of the peat in each cell is clearly visible by
the color of the mix. It starts off light colored and gets darker
as it moistens. I rushed a cell that seemed to have too much
peat by watering it by hand a tad, and I saw again the dark
brown that too-wet peat makes.

Over the week the cells all got to, and stayed right at, a perfect
moisture level.

This is part of why I got so bean happy a few days ago, as it is
sooooooo freakin' easy with this thing.

I did not comment on it at the time, but the RP Kosher Kush was
a fresh and ready seed. It popped in 1-2 days, and others are
popping up too.

I expect to get all four clones of each mother to health, and will
select the keeper.

Here is the first to arrive, the Kosher Kush:
KosherKush.jpg

Here is a view of the popping bean field (only the first two and a half columns have
had beans dropped in them):
PoppingBeans.jpg

...and here are the clones, looking happy (plus one Sensi Jack Herer popping):
NewMotherClones.jpg

I now have the tent on 12/12, as of today's "night". I decided to make "day"
be from 8 PM to 8 AM. This will avoid a lot of the heat that comes in the
next two months where I am. I will never get over 90 if I am lucky, but the
man cave is badly exposed to the fall sun.

I will be placing my large (16") circular fan under the canopy, and will need
to get a new one to hang above the canopy. I have seen on Amazon where some
are sold intending to be hung upside down, and still rotate. (this is what killed
the rotate on the fan that I have right now...I overloaded each rotation by
having it at an angle, and eventually the mechanism failed)

Onward and upward,

JD

P.S. Happy 4th right back atcha J. :0)

Again, this tray rocks.

Since writing last, I am seeing the Sensi Blueberry on the left
and three of the Cannaventures Mothers Mix, Skywalker Kush,
and Headband have also popped.

Take care,

JD

Very tight. Yeah Giggles liked it. I plan on getting one s well. Not sure if Giggles is around. I sent him a PM no response. He closed his thread. Hope nothing happened. I thought that was weird when he asked the mods to close his thread.
