Could You Survive A Zombie Outbreak?

maggots don't work lightning quick, at least not to the point of total body destruction, I live in the south, so extreme cold doesn't happen often, even then we don't know that they wouldn't survive it because they would already be dead, they may just lock up till they thaw...though after they do thaw the decomp will prob accelerate, and animals aren't as brave as you think, we don't have many bears running through the city, and I scare of dogs now, I'm only 5'4. The sun will make them stink and bloated, and will speed up the process, but not necessarily quick enough to keep them from spreading it...

i just think it wouldnt be as bad as everyone makes it to be, day to day bullshit to the zombies would fuck them up plus theres a shit ton of americans with guns

theyre are vicious animals out there, vultures would defanitly try to pick apart zombies, dogs are and can be aggressive, moose, bears, seagulls i could totally see trying to get a meal, ever piss off a cat? lol

†L† An honour you've earned brother, I wanna hook up with your crew if that shit goes down!
If it comes to it, I'd be glad to have you. Don't hesitate to bring some Zombie Bait, just make sure they bring their own smoke.

Let's say they're not by the full definition 'dead', so no rotting.
That is when the fun starts. You have to look at long term survival, especially if the infastructure is shot (no chance for cure, military gone, government nonexistant), and we are all essentially assuming that is the case, but it would take some highly contagious shit to do those three. Best bet is to isolate yourself from dense populations quickly, then monitor the situation. While monitoring and using available rations, make organized patrols to pick up the things you need using what is available, and also start fortifying your current location. After a month you will have a pretty good idea how things will turn out. Assuming everything has gone to shit, you can stay there until winter. If it freezes where you live, just go around and double tap all of the corpsicles, pile the bodies and burn them; if you don't like your current location, winter is the time to find a new one and get rid of the frozen zombies at your new location. If it doesn't freeze during winter where you live, you should have already left for colder climates, unless it is incredibly isolated where you live.

Always ready. I know the main rules of survival.
1. "Cardio"
2. "Double tap ("Ziploc bags" in a deleted scene)
3. "Beware of bathrooms”
4. "Wear seatbelts"
6. "Cast iron skillet"
7. "Travel light"
8. "Get a kickass partner"
12. "Bounty paper towels"
15. "Bowling Ball"
17. "(Don't) be a hero"
18. "Limber up"
21. "Avoid strip clubs"
22. "When in doubt, know your way out"
29. "The buddy system"
31. "Check the back seat"
32. "Enjoy the little things"
33. "Swiss army knife"
48. "Hygiene"

Everything else is elementary after those. :) Watch Zombieland for the rest of the rules.

So how long do you think you could still find working electricity and fuel for a vehicle?

I can't imagine it would take long for everything to shut down.:fire:

Yeah, and all the nuclear plant accidents will also happendafter a period of time and then its more trouble !

my dad works in a nuclear power plant, it wouldnt be too long id say a year or two for stuff to stop working or break down
as for vehicles and electricity theres a a good chance we might go out of power but so many stores now are built in with back up generators and sun powered shit i think we would be okay on electricity,
as for gas, even if pumps stopped working for some reason you could always find a way to suck it out of another car and put it into a jerry can, overall id sad if a zombie outbreak did happen with all our modern technology i dont think it would spread out too fast,
and i dont think wed be out of water, electricity , gas, ect for quite sometime, and by that time i think we'd mostly have the outbreak under control,

also i think movies and media make the government to be a "bad apple" like they wouldn't help anyone if shit like this went down, i dont see that happening although there would be extreme anarchy because we all know if this happend people without guide and rules would go crazy some people would probably not but theres always thoes few people who can't handle stress i think it may take a bit for the government and military to help us, but in the end i think they would be patrolling streets in tanks and guns and helping all survivors, they do it on a regular basis anyways (helping survivors),

if you want more information on what would happen with nuclear plants and such without human involvement id suggest watching the show "Life after people" as it shows a break down of things without people, and honestly from what ive gotten from the shows it would take between 5-10 years before shit starts hitting the fan with electricity and nuclear stuff so im sure wed only be going tops a month or two having to deal with zombies.

Oh....so we don't have to worry about power... †stops winding the copper wire ...†
what about internet? I bring that up because so many systems are automated, after 2 months with no one to process your bill the system would auto disconnect your service...

I would say it would go out quicker since there is no one working to maintain the servers and the external infastructure. HAM radio can be used to talk across the ocean, or a regular radio station could be used to broadcast information. Assuming it is the worst, TV will probably go out first. Cell phones would go out within 2 months as well.

Dude you guys are seriously underestimating a zombie outbreak. Just sit inside and play video games? Look at how crazy people got over the swine flu. Now imagine a real zombie attack broke out. World wide panic - on top of a zombie plague.

Power output would grind to a halt fairly quickly too. Who is going to continue operating the coal fired boilers providing most of your electricity? Who is going to deliver the coal?

You guys are playing right into the zombies hands.
