I had/made hydro and coco and by far the flavor, aroma winner is always soil. I feel ya though.
Hooked up Coco tastes earthy smells up the place and grows like hydro. Maybe one day you will run into a real winner in coco. If I had 1 choice I would do soil but have no desire to combat the insect world.

You are growing in gold tupur? Your pH should be fine, raise it up to 6.0 - 6.2 in flower. The leaves of that plant look quite dark or it could be just low light, try lowering your PPMs, the brown spots are probably just nutrient burn.. Are you feeding with every watering? What are your daily temperature and humidity lows/highs?

I definitely feel you on that one . Bugs are a big problem in organics but with a healthy plant most pests cannot thrive over the beneficial microbes and beneficial bugs that are there to help

Anybody have any tips with Royal Gold Tupur? Do I have to rinse it out before or give it a good soaking of cal mag?

No you don't have to rinse tupur.you don't need calmag with house and garden . Only mag. Trust me

No problem. I used tupur and house and garden for 2 years . You can pull of monsters in that stuff. I just didn't care for the flavor I got in the end . That doesn't mean you couldn't do it better. I was getting close to a decent flavor in the end . It just wasn't for me so I tried something new. I was just ranting the other morning . Probably just stirring up the pot because I knew it would.

Thanks man I just transplanted some small veglings and they're showing what looks like a mag deficiency. Green veins, the rest of the leaf is yellow. Still adjusting to this coco but I got my flowering plants back on track and removed the salt build up that I had. I am seeing and smelling good things!.

I have been using coco for well over 15 years and never had any problem at all. Your ppm is fine but when I go to flower I never go strait 1000 ppm. I all ways build up to it over the first 2 weeks and run it at a 1000ppm for 4or5 weeks. And for the last 2 weeks I start to low it again

yeah but he was running 1800 ppm a little to high even for coco . But great advice non the less.

My ppms were only 1000 but I had a salt build up issue. I feel they only looked as good as they did was due to the Drip Clean I am using and the effects of the salt build up did show right away. I am glad I caught it though and came here because I am right back on track, thanks everyone.

Yes my run off was 1800 and higher but I was putting in ~1000 ppms. This leads to my next question for you. So I just transplanted my clones to bigger pots, 5 gallons with tupur. Now I am watering with 1 gallon of water and getting sufficient run off. When I test my run off it's about 1500 ppms and the ph is around 6.8-7. Now I am watering with about 500 ppm solution and ph of 5.8 so I don't know why it's so high? This is why I asked before if I needed to rinse tupur before use because my run off has been so off and it's only been two feedings since I transplanted. I am wondering why it's so hot out of the bag. I did notice a mag deficiency and watered with epsom salt today but on a couple of my strains I am noticing some weird growth that looks like a ph problem. I am going to water every day until it fixed but I know I can get away with watering every other day while they're in veg. Anyways have you noticed anything like I described when you used tupur?
