Is it a must to run multi zen ?
Honestly I used the whole line for a while and then I dropped stuff until I was down to just the a\b and mag to see what was the difference and there really isn't much . Plants only eat what they want no matter what you force down the soil or coco or hydro for that matter . If it isn't a readily available nute then it will store as salts in the media and eventually reek havoc on your ladies. Most of the time when you get a deficiency or build up it has been happening for a while. Things are not automatic in the plant world. So to answer your question , no I don't think that it is necessary but if you run 1/2 of the line then why not all of it or just use the a/b and mag for a while and see what you get. A lot of times less is more . Sounds dumb but it is true.

Yes he is getting a build up :) you have won the prize :) good answer
mix bennies into your mix next time, the right bacteria`s brake down calcium phosphate

This can be a problem with people using tap water as there is a lot of cal in most tap water and then they put chlorine and such in the tap water this kills the soil bacteria`s and mean a cal/phosphate lock is possible

tnc sell bactor 13 or something like that

but there`s 100`s of such products for any way you choose to grow

I use a water butt my water bubbles away for a few days to a few weeks with some bennies and treatments in there to help make it better for the plants, ph`d of course

I try to just run 6 to 8 week strains

I don`t re-use my coco it go`s to my outside plants, due to bug issues but if I did I would bucket it up and add some fresh bennies to it let it brew for a week or 2 before re--using it

also I like a perlite coco mix for sure easier to work with, plus I put pure perlite in the bottom of the pot (stops bugs, rot and makes transplanting easier) and I top dress with perlite too (stops bugs getting into the coco/rootball)

Get a pump from harbour freight . It sits outside of the room and you can hook a hose to it and suck the water right out of the saucers into a garbage can or whatever . I went directly into my garage drain but it makes it easy and the pump is like 30 bucks no towels no mess . You don't need to feed at 1.7 that will always cause build up . 8 mls per gallon works all the way through . Maybe a little less on babies. It is like .9 ec before the additives. But the additives don't raise it much at all anyways.
Thank you so much for the help. I think my next go I'll have to get some large trays instead of this coasters. I am still concerned about what you said about the flavor and the resin production halted. Now was that issue because you were still figuring things out or do you believe H&G coco nutes are just garbage. I have been running 5 mls of A & B per gallon plus the cal mag and it's been 900 ppms so if that's causing the lockouts I don't think I can go higher. If I remember the ec to ppms chart correctly 0.9 ec is right around 900 ppms. So for the rest of this week I think I am going to feed light then go back to the 900 ppms and you said that would be good for all the way through flower?

I have been running Recharge which is a great inoculate and honestly it might be why my plants haven't completely shut down yet.

No not really. When I ran them both I liked the bud xl better except for the price. I eventually stopped running it and really didn't notice a difference. Shooting powder I believe is just a mono potassium phosphate and you have to be careful with that because you might end up with fox tails.

Do you guys think it's better to use just plastic pots opposed to smart or fabric pots. Since the root growth is so astonishing to other mediums a smart pot doesn't seem necessary.

They dry out faster and more evenly so blumats or a dripper system would be a really good idea for fabric pots. It's a good idea with plastic pots it will increase you yield a lot . You will get very large yields anyways but with a dripper you get hydro growth. It is not hard to get 12 oz plants and beyond in 5 gallon plastic pots on a regular basis.

3 decent feedings to a small runoff or you can move up to 5 feedings that are smaller. With blumats they feed continuously it feeds when the blumats senses dryness. They will leak out on you so make sure you have time to watch them a lot. Your plants will boom !! It all depends on how fast they are drying out but once they are in flower they can dry out in a couple hours. This is in average sized pots. If you go with huge pots then you will have problems . Unless you have a lot of water to run ? Coco if ran correctly can be in very undersized pots and do excellent, even better than larger pots , it equals more feedings which equals more oxygen to the roots and new feed .

Do you still grow in coco. I have heard the benefits of growing in coco like the large yields but I have also heard like you mentioned the bad taste in the final product. Can you elaborate a little more or have heard things about the poor tasting buds.

I agree on all points. I have found the 3 gallon fabric pots in my DTW with coco/perlite to be awesome and you can grow some monsters in them. I could only imagine adding blue mats. But alas RDWC is calling my name.........
