Calling All Noob Growers

wow... u guys are Growin Gods. ive learned more this 1 article then every topic and online guide i ever read. Unfourtunely im alrdy using the MG, i asked all my buddys if they had bagged soil layin around that they didnt need.My buddy actually called me today and said he had 2 bags of Earthgro topsoil. But ive never seen any1 talk about usin it be4. and now that im usin MG, u guys are sayin i cant use the make it rain technique at all? or just wait untill about 4 or 5 weeks before i start using it. O and btw all my plants will be in 4-6 gallon containers, and iam keeping a super carefull eye on the weather. and i think ill will just go and buy the DynaGro, believe me if i still had a job i would gladly spend alot more $$ on the ladies. But 20$ is all i got, i might get 10 or 15 more here and there, but idk, i dont wana count on gettin $, and then not get it

I would get the earthgro soil from your buddy and then mix it with the MG for use to amend the soil once you put em outside

and suggest you consider a co-op garden with one of your buddies (trusted of course) I have a friend that did this he knew how to grow but did not have funds, he had a friend that did not know how to grow but had funds they pooled thier colective resources and split the yield 50/50,,,,just an idea

i can see why lol? i hope a couple years from now i can be a master grower myself. I'll def talk to some of my best stoner buddies and see if they would wana fund me if i give em half the yield. Yo, so can I use your make it rain technique with the Earthgro/MG mix. And since i already got the babies sitting in cups of MG, ill use the Earthgro on the big pots so its mostly Earthgro, but wont that transfer be super stressfull?

if your careful, transplanting is a very good thing. i myself have never ran into a single stress problem from transplanting(tho it does happen to some people). just use common sence, and b careful. the ladies will LOVE it bro =]

I took a look at your grow journal, and I'm a bit confused. You say you're going to be using a clearing to grow in, but you're also talking as if you're going to be growing in pots. There's no reason why you can't use pots, but I always thought that most outdoor growers just spaded some manure, peat moss, etc into the ground and planted right into it. Or am I misunderstanding what you're saying?

Transplanting with no stress is easy, simply dunk the small pots in a tub of cold water let drain and move to the big pot, the dunking will put the plant in sleep mode, once under the light in the big pot it will wake up and start wicking water without ever knowing it was moved

I think he is doing pots so he can move em out of the sun and control the 12/12 period without waiting for fall

Ok, that make sense, but wouldn't that mean that you planned to move the plants indoors eventually? Call me silly, but how do you go about moving several 3+foot Cannabis plants from a clearing in the woods to an indoor location without anybody noticing? Wouldn't it be easier (and safer) just to grow them indoors from the beginning? Even if you're in an state where MMJ is legal you still have to worry about people wanting to steal your crop (not to mention nosy neighbors who would call the cops despite your being legal), so I've always felt that it was better to keep things as low key as possible. Unless Moussa has some sort of grow tent/cabin set up close to this clearing, moving them to flower strikes me as awfully risky. Then again, he might live out in the countryside someplace where you can actually move something that big around without everyone in the neighborhood noticing.

man IMO ur dumb to grow outdoors when not out in the country,woods,etc.. sum people get away with it tho.
and i think wut he means by moving them to flower, is simply move them under a big tree, make shift tent or something tht blocks out light. not moving locatation to indoors.

Ok, leme try to clear up some of the noise. My ORIGINAL PLAN, and the plan id rather stick with so i can move my ladies around was to combine the MG with EarthGro, but it would be very little MG, and mostly EarthGro. I have 2 bags of EarthGro, and 5 babies. So i could really fill up some nice big containers, grow some monsters, and just move everything to shade for flowering. HOWEVER, a few people tell me EarthGro is some werid shit, horriable for MJ. So WITHOUT EARTHGRO, id have use the little MG left and grow in the ground so i dont sacrifice size, which means id have to wait 4 fall to Flower. I just need some1 to clarify EarthGro is ok for MJ.

trust me, my spot is unreachable. Even after spending a good hour making a small trail through the thorn bushes, i still gotta wear this thick leather jacket to get back there without getting all fucked up. And i dont see any1 wearing a thick ass jacket in the summer. Even if they made it the fence, the fence is 15 ft and the top is covered in rusty barb wire. Its a good 200 yds from the nearest street. Every other side is either more uncharted woodlands, and a small lake to the right that no 1 has even seen before. When even ask people about nearby area their like "???" The only nearby road only sees cars during rush hours because of factory workers, and its a side rd at that.

Actually of all the Scotts/MG products I have loked at EarthGro seems like a good mix for what we do, minus something for good drainage, so I would go ahead and use it just add about 30% perlite or Calcined Clay for good drainage/aireation

Ok, I've got it now. I just didn't realize tha putting them into heavy shade would block enough light to cause them to flower early. What can I say, I don't grow outdoors.

wow... subscribed, voted for STICKY. ill be reading tis one over n over for a while. on my first grow n jus gonna let them do what they do n fiddle around wit them some. definately gonna apply ALOT of your advice. lookn forward to great results!!! amazing tat someone actually take tis much time to help out the clueless masses. if i knew how to do the +rep, i would hook you up man. o im gonna be goin through all of them. gonna be a slow process as i work n go to school (on top of smoking), but may be able to retain some slowly n not have to start from the beginning every time. lol

So what do you think of this CMH in my new fridge project.
