The soil seems to have a lot of good things the plant needs in a soil lol I added 1 cup of vermiculite to help boost the air penetration and water retention.

Flushed the pots with water. Wasn't really sure how much water to use so I poured a bunch in there then stirred it up then poured even more lol

In 5gal smart pots I usually pre water with about 2gallons of RO water. You want to water slowly until you get runoff...
I posted a thread under the title of

Oh I definitely didn't pour until there was runoff. Just enough to get all the dirt wet. I planned on watering tomorrow after transplanting, do you think that'll be enough water, or should I pre water some more?

Don't water tomorrow, you have plenty. Over watering is one of the biggest mistakes first timers make. If the soil were bone dry you would only need a shot glass of water to get them going. 2 best methods of watering are pre watering the day before or watering the day you plant with a shot glass of water. when I pre water, I don't water again for 3 days and if I do the shot glass method then I water every day for 6 days with a shot glass & then I go to watering a gallon every couple of days...

Okay I've only been watering them once every 2 days in the small cups and ill water till about 10% runoff. Ill probably add a shotglass full and then wait 2-3 days and see what things look like.

DAY 22:
Made the decision to transplant today instead of Wednesday because these ladies are just growing too fast lol. Transplanting went smoothly. Just cut away the solo cup instead of doing the flipping thing. Figured the less movement the plant encounters the better. Also had to change the height of the light due to the extra height of the pots.





Used about half a cup of water to wet the area around the plants. The soil they were in was pretty dry when I transplanted. So I wanted to make absolutely sure they would be okay.

I would put more soil in the smartpot next time though, because as the soil settles more and more of the plants leaves are going to be rubbing against the side wall & you want to try to avoid that.

I didn't know how much to put in haha I plan on folding the rim of the pot down to give more wind exposure. That should at least delay the problem for now haha.

DAY 24:
So the plants look like they are doing well. The BM is definitely liking the new soil, shes showing huge progress. The NL still shows slow increases. Who knows lol.






And I decided to throw in a Gopro pick of the pots. The difference in color is amusing. Poor Gopro.



They seem to be getting dry up top. I think tomorrow the top inch will be dry everywhere.

Very cool. I too am running a blue mystic at the moment. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one these days lol. That sucks that your sprouts had a rough start in that soil

I have heard that BM grows similar to NL. I can see they are quite similar. Very cool. Congrats on the recovery

Awesome are you running a journal? Would love to see some pics. Its alright about the soil. I knew they wouldn't do well in it but I decided to go ahead anyway. Totally my fault.

Yea both have been pretty much neck and neck. The BM is growing a bit faster but I have a feeling that's only because of the start they had.

I'm sure it was from the sketchy start. And yes my journal is titied organic GDP, blue mystic and short ryder.

I'm going to be crossing the blue mystic with kens grand daddy purp. I'm excited for that. If u go to my journal and skip to the 9th page I have my most recent pics up. The blue mystic is Extremely indica and easy to spot compared to the GDP.

DAY 26:
Everything is looking good. Water'd yesterday morning. Used about a gallon and a half between the two plants. The BM is showing great growth and the NL is still showing steady, slow progress. Little update, the NL has started to give off a smell. Kinda smells like water'd down bud.





Lastly I have a question for all you fine people. I noticed the NL has a lot of small leaves that have grown in low on the stem and they are just resting in the dirt. Should I do something about that, or will they fix that as they grow? Pic below, Its the best I could take lol Thanks!

You should be fine with the leaves touching your soil. That happens to me alot and I always do nothing about it and have never had any issues. The thing about auto flowering plants is u want to do as little as u can that could slow the growth since your time is so limited.

Alright thanks. Wanted to make sure I'm doing things correctly haha. I've read before that is autoflowers experience stress early on in their lives, it can change when they switch to the budding phase. Is that true? Cause if its not then my 4-5 weeks is almost up and these plants are still babies lol

I had an Ak48 that refused to switch last year so after 70 days in Veg I put Her in total darkness for 3 days & then I put her under 12/12 lighting to get her to flower. I finally cut her down around day 107 I think....

lolol was it an auto? Thats amazing! I'm not sure I have the room currently for a plant that would grow that much haha.. Hopefully these two ladies start growing like crazy.
