The problem is someone could spend $600 like you suggest on a 300 watt lamp billed as a 450w lamp or they could spend $4-500 on either a pre built or DIY built lamp with Cree or Bridgelux [realsies] diodes and and SMASH the G8 into a door stopping apparatus.
another groupie I presume? It specifically says BridgeLux directly beside LED Brand on the website.

You can get a G8 450W for $600. I use a 450W with 2 all red UFO's in my 2x4x7... It works great. No problems at all. I would recommend a fan/filter combo to keep fresh air rollin thru...

Abiqua is right, those G8 lights are really low quality, and it's not a question if it can grow weed its a question, Is it a better deal than buying a HID light? The answer is no. Those lights cannot produce the same PAR rating HID lighting can because of the low quality parts they use, yes you can grow with them but they produce a lot of heat and not a lot of light compared to tried and true and cheap technology.

Bridgelux makes so many different diodes and they aren't all great quality, you need to know bins and part numbers to have any association with a quality LED, those are most likely the lowest bin and old technology, making them not as good as HID lighting.

Fuck I can't decide now, maybe one 200 watt vero or 200 watt cxa3070 and then just get one rw75...
Enter the discount code "SUPRASPL" at Optic Lighting's webpage for 10% off. If you're doing a 3x3, or 4x4 tent, just save up a bit, and grab one of the 360w models. With the discount, the Vero 29 360w is $720. I hope that helps make your decision easier, sir.

The CXB is more efficient, so it will be friendlier on your electric bill. The Vero is going to give you more coverage and a better yield.
That's a bold statement. I don't disagree with ya, but the top bin cxb3070 3k 80? I think is the undiputed champ ! so far?
