... soon we will no longer be a democracy and a communistic country hiding under a democratic face.
I had always thought the USA was a republic...

The Pledge of Allegiance

I pledge allegiance to the Flag,
of the United States of America
and to the Republic for which it stands,
One Nation, under God
Indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for All.

good point, but they view it as a democracy, which is where the power derives from the people

The United States is a Representative Democracy bounded by a Constitution that restricts the representatives from legislating on certain matters. This is sometimes refered to as a republican form of government.

The democracy of America is a farce and it's propaganda to it's fullest. The government creates a picture in which we the people have more control than they actually have while doing whatever they want if they deem it "necessary". Do you no how many of those "certain matters" that you think can't be touched have been raped legislatively. Everything that this country is supposed to stand for is complete double speak. What was once true is no more. We loose more rights on a constant basis and mostly because of fear do to propaganda, the one thing politicians seem to be good at, the complacency of the masses, and the lack of transparency in government . Do you know the reason our education system is in the shitter? Because they want it to be. They want people to be ignorant so the thought to question certain matters doesn't even cross most peoples minds. Our government is leaning more towards totalitarianism than democracy. It cost a $150,000,000 to run for president, for the people my ass. It doesn't matter what style of governing is attached to a government whether it be a republic, democracy, communism, ect..... the people in power are always corrupt and it doesn't matter what it is supposed to be because they figure out how to do what they want. If any other country tried to do half the shit we do they would be deemed as terrorists. We police the world, spending billions of dollars in the process, while half of our country is pretty much owned by China. Politicians have been using their position for personal gain forever, leaving the American people in their wake. The government promotes separation of the people for the purpose of keeping people from actually coming together and doing something about the corruption. To say this country is any kind of democracy is a joke. They give you bread crumbs and make it seem like they gave you gold.

Totalitarianism
(or totalitarian rule) is a political system where the state, usually under the control of a single political person, faction, or class, recognizes no limits to its authority and strives to regulate every aspect of public and private life wherever feasible. Totalitarianism is generally characterized by the coincidence of authoritarianism (where ordinary citizens have less significant share in state decision-making) and ideology (a pervasive scheme of values promulgated by institutional means to direct most if not all aspects of public and private life). Totalitarian regimes or movements maintain political power through an all-encompassing propaganda disseminated through the state-controlled mass media, single party that is often marked by personality cultism, control over the economy, regulation and restriction of speech, mass surveillance, and widespread use of state terrorism.
State controlled mass media - While our media is not directly controlled by our government it is controlled somewhat through the FCC not to mention the people in charge of the media that have political associations.

Single Party System - While they put on a show of a multi-party system, someone is either a politician or not. They just use the party system as reason for conflict and bureaucracy giving the illusion of rights.

Control Over The Economy - Do I really have to say anything?

Regulation And Restriction Of Speech - The FCC, a whole section of government who's sole purpose is censorship molding the idea of what's acceptable.

Mass Surveillance - Patriot Act

Wide Spread Use Of State Terrorism - We have more people incarcerated than any other country and our law enforcement is made up of highly violent individuals.

i didnt say that is what they are, they are no way a democracy, or a republic. its just a mask they hide behind. and nothing they do is for the people. they pass "laws" so they can get there piggybacks passed too. every law that goes through congress has a good smiley mask, that the people want to pass. what they dont realize, hidden in all of the lawyer bullshit, is that there are tons of piggy back laws hiding underneath. this is why the shove laws trhough congress, and laws we want passed will never. they have their own agenda to get rich from the lobbyists and big corps. its the big corps that are pulling all the strings. politicians are the puppets.

When the feds started raiding local food exchange organizations run by people who want to trade home grown food using the "domestic terrorism" clause of the Homeland Security Act I really figured that would be the last straw for the people......but apparenlty not yet!

Well, it appears for someone in St. Thomas (Ontario?) having a food garden seems to be a zoning violation...

@MomaPug,
Yea, but doesn't it sound a little shitty that to have the garden required a payed employee? I am sure they are collecting taxes for that so in effect, they are being taxed to have a garden. I have a large area and though about that. There are some elderly people near that would love a garden but can't due to space or unable to plow their own.

I don't think it was the best solution, but at least they found something to work for them.

That's a cool idea Dirty Harry, I bet some of your neighbors would appreciate it, and I bet you would be gifted with some of the fruits of their labors.

I wish someone around here would do a "pea patch" garden, I don't have the space, or a plow!
