Moved everything around in my new area. But it is much better. It cooled off from 80 degrees with fans on down to 75 without the fans on. :)

Heres the biggest one that i topped. it has taken it well

I dont think i will scrog anymore. just gonna top and lollipop as needed. I cant wait to get the 600w .:bigjoint:

yes, you can easily switch them from 24/0 to 20/4. you'll need to keep an HID bulb like MH or HPS further away from the plants than those CFLs. nothing wrong with CFLs though, i use them to veg and they work fine. for flowering the HID lamps you are getting will work much better.

Ya im actually surprised how well these have done for the cfl's. I plan on doing a starter room with the cfl's. Probably have them grow for 4-5 weeks in smaller pots in there. Then have my other "tent" be the finish vegging room with the MH until 1/2 the height that i have to grow into. Then flip into flowering with my HPS. I really need to figure out a good nutrient system. Im gonna use some Jacks 20-20-20 for veg but not sure about the flowering at all yet

Hey man, I'm subbed up. Can't wait to see how it turns out. I'm on my first grow too! I've done all my research on hydro setups so went with that instead, but I'm keen to look into soil grows too!
Good luck!!

So i dont know what is going on with a couple of my plants. They are wrinkling kinda. Do i need to water them?
heres a couple pics

Your lights are way too close in my opinion.
That might cause your wrinkling and that is what creating the very short internodes which I don't think are of much benefit.

the 24/0 cycle will give you the tightest internode spacing.

so I moved the lights up a little bit about 7-9 inches from the tops, I wouldnt mind them to stretch just a little. I think they are a little heat stressed. I want to go 20/4 but I wont have my tent light proof until this next week. when do plants usually start alternating nodes?

i use maxsea (and a whole bunch of cali growers also swear by it).

they have a 16-16-16 all purpose which i use until about halfway through flower before i switch to the 3-20-20.

you can order it online if you can't find it at a garden center near you.

it's awesome stuff, super simple too.

I would go at about 6-7".
It doesn't matter much if you get some light leaks in the dark time of veg.
Alternating nodes are the sign that the plant reached sexual maturity and is very different with different strains in veg, but usually a few days after inducing flowering they start alternating.

okay, thanks for the replies. It seems to be steady at around 77 degrees on the canopy now. I noticed that the biggest plant has branches alternating now. :)

It looks like tracking says it wont be here until monday. I went ahead and bought a 600w setup with a MH and HPS bulb. I cant wait but now it looks like I will be dropping another 150-200 on a inline fan and filter. It will probably take me atleast 2 grows to get my money back but thats okay it will be worth it in the end. :)

so im a little curious as to when most of you take clones. I dunno if i will clone any of these ones. I have some Lemon Kush and The Doctor seeds i was gonna start in my veg. area.

I clone everything I can in veg, flower the plantd and then I know which clones should stay and which should go.

I went to look and take a couple pics and noticed a couple plants have some purple on the stems, what does this look like?

Im hoping i get my 600w tomorrow. i am gonna top the 4 that havent been topped yet. I might lst a couple branches on the big one to get more light into the middle. I think i need to start veg nutes because a couple plants are purple on the lowest leaf stems.

load em up with nitro, well half strength at least.

u gonna save any for a second generation by getting some cuttings? you'll like that blue 600, it'll need to be further away from plants. sunlight supply adjusta-wings are econo hoods

i have jacks all-purpose 20-20-20 will that do? I fed at 1/8 strength just yesterday. didnt water too heavily. I should be able to water again in a few days. How far do you recommend. i plan on doing the hand test just a little curious. Another thing i was wondering about was the stretch after i go to 12/12. i read double and then triple? im sure there are alot of variables but im just planning on just double height
