Aurora Indica: Should it be this simple?

So I checked last night to see what was going on... The rest of the leaf and the new leaves are doing fine and are getting a darker green like I hoped they would, but the spots have turned a darker brown at the same time. It looks like an overall healthy plant but those brown spots and streaks make it look really ratty. I gave it some higher nitrogen nutes and a good bit of water before moving the lights just a little bit farther away incase they are being burned by the lights.

I have been comparing my progress to the Mango strain in Buds For Less and I am pretty much on track. Even though I worried about stunting the poor thing, it is still going strong. I need to get some more information and supplies for cloning that is at least 2 weeks away though...

My hydro experiment has finally shown above ground but it has some purpling of its seed leaves. I Just keep it watered now and I am going to get it a bigger light to bring in its first few leaves.

Well, I must regret to inform you that it seems the damage to those leaves with the rusty spots on them seems to be permanent. But seeing as how it is less than 10% of the total surface area of the leaves so I think that she'll pull through without a serious problem. I just have to face the fact that tomorrow I will be posting pictures of a plant that looks like it has a foot in the grave. I pulled the 65w light from both plants and put 2 x 26w and a 13w that will be replaced tonight after work. There are more and more leaves growing on this thing every time I check it. The newst fully formed set of leaves are not finished growing but they are 5 bladed and there are even more pushing past them from the meristem. My baby still isn't as green as I think it should be, but I would rather have a growing baby that isn't deep green than a dying supergreen shrub.

Also I'm proud to announce that my hydro experiment is doing some good growing ever since its show. I had that 13w CFL to germinate it and after that I switched it to the 42w light, now there is no purpling anywhere and the true leaves are coming quick! I wil have pics of that for you as well. There is some staining of the perlite though... Just a little green...

Be ready for pics of the progress tomorrow!

Well, here we go! Day 12 of veg - I am almost certain that the brown spots aren't shrinking, but they are DEFINITELY not 10% of the leaf surface like it was on Friday. Now it is like less than 3%! Here is the top view.

Finally, She's hit the full 3 inch mark!
DSC00183.jpg

So the new leaves at the meristem are now just about completely formed and they are nice and lush and green and 5 bladed. I have secondary growth at the first and second nodes.

Here is another of the secondary growth. You might be able to see the first set of leaves with its shabby shabbiness...

Here is the first baby pic of the hydro experiment. When she gets a bit more meat on her bones I will dub her 'Widget' until then, just my experiment... I am kind of flying blind with the care of this one... Not sure when to feed so I just do it every other watering.

Bah! I just had a braing fart that erased all of my musings so here is a really quick rewriting of the past couple of days... I haven't watered since about 6 days ago and that was a bit of urine for nitrogen and some 1/8th strength 0.2-0.2-0.2 liquid fertilizer. Since then the soil has stayed moist, there is no wilting and the growth has been outstanding more and more leaves are shoing up every single time I look at it! Now that she is bigger, I have more reason to add all the lights I can manage which helps me channel my energy from 'Nuture to Death' to just spending about 5 or 6 minutes fiddling with all the lights. I Think I will wait another week to flower because I REALLY want a clone or two from the smaller bottom branches before I put it into flower. Here we go... Day 13 and you will get the few pics of Day 14 either tonight or tomorrow.

So, now, can you all see why I am so excited? From what I am seeing, there are a few candidates for clones sitting there on the bottom and as soon as they are big enough and I have the supplies, I will be doing a few cuttings. I think it will probably be Day 20 before I am able to do it... 4 days past the Buds for Less cloning, but I am kind of worried that I could stress a hermie clone as Canabizness had some problems with hermie's coming out of AI. If it is delicate in that way, I will tread lightly, but as far as I am seeing, there is just the most robust plant I have ever seen!

Enjoy the pics and let me know what you think.

Here we go for pics from yesterday - Day 14 of veg. Lots more growth than from the 13th, I am still astounded with how well this is going. Even the hydro experiment is doing well! I am just praying there is a girl. No need for water for the past week cuz the soil drying problems are pretty much over and done, what with all the height gains. Well here is the pics and I will just leave you to them.

I like the daily journal updates. Exactly what I do too.

Check out my grow if you'd like.

Mine also germed quickly and broke ground in a day too.

Hell yeah! I'm definitely subscribing to you if you update daily! Maybe I can learn some tips from you! Thanks for the heads up! And thanks for the subscription!

I just checked today and the lower nodes that I will be taking for clones is growing rather nicely so there will be a ton of pics pretty soon

If you snap some images every morning before you leave for work... and then post them whenever you get a chance that day it isn't too hard ;)

True! That is what I do! I check on them after I wake up in the morning and I take pictures then as I check the light height and soil moisture. Then I make myself post them before I take my nightly weed break. It is all regimented, but it all gets fit in there... somehow. LOL

Glad you swung by cannabizness! I never would have thought you were this right though!

icurbyou, I will be reading all you've done! so far I've only gottent through your dresser grow... I wish I had thought of that LOL

That was a mighty fine grow, icurbyou! It is definitely something to aspire to!
Day16 of Veg - It looks like I was right about having to wait another week to take cuttings. I swung by the store after clinical to pick up some Rootone and fish emulsion. (5-1-1) The soil is still rather wet from yesterday's watering and there hasn't been too much more growth. I am hoping that the thermometer that I put inthere tells me that my temps haven't been getting above 85. I would rather 80, but I am almost certain that a wild plant that thrives in the wilderness is subjected to temps of 90+ from time to time so I am REALLY not worried about 85 at the height of the light cycle... Soon, I think I will start turning to 18/6. and I am sizing up a couple of those side branches, though I am sure that they will be just as short and bushy as their mother from the very first snip.

Is it bad to continually clone a clone? I can manage a smallish clone for the few months that it takes to get a harvest, but I am wondering just what a behemoth this little thing will be after 2 months of veg. I read somewhere that if you allow a clone to be cloned too many times you can end up with a crappy lineage after a number of times. It doesn't seem right to me seeing as how 100 year old trees don't have normal trunks and retarded branches. And that is the same run of growth for 100 years worth of veg.....

Any thoughts?

I dont know anything about cloning so I cannot help there. However, I noticed you said "Soon, I think I will starting turning to 18/6"... What are you on now?

I only ask because if you are on 24/0, I would drop to 18/6 now. I have read that having a dark period helps the plant.

Check out this link if you care: https://www.rollitup.org/general-marijuana-growing/5003-what-better-18-hours-24-a.htm

"The dark cycle is very inportant to palnts. Respiration (this is when plants are making energy from sugar to oxygen) Continues in dark but at a much slower pace, almost independent of available oxygen because the leaves are not making oxygen in the dark.

In the dark there is a shift from leaf production to root production as the leaves transfer excess energy down to the branches and roots. Therefore, some dark time allows for better root structures. Giving plants a 24-hour light cycle is not the way to supercharge growth"

Thanks!! Hopefully it stays on track!
Man, with your level of care and dedication, the only thing that can derail you is a massive, sustained power failure or something cataclysmic. Thanks a lot for the info about the dark period! I will switch them today to 18/6! Good looking out! :-P

Sad to think that I could have had more growth if I had just left the lights off.... hmm...

I dont know anything about cloning so I cannot help there.
Well, allow me to help... I will be taking a lot of pictures and info about how I have done it and putting it up here just like everythign else.

I will have some more pictures of today's progress put up after I get home from work.

Awesome. Sounds great bro!

I felt dumb when I read about the dark period too. Oh well, saves you a few cents a day having off the lights I suppose :)

Dammit, dammit, dammit! I was gonna skip my daily smoke tonight cuz I kind of fear getting to the point where I won't get high any more... I am certain that as a 4 month smoker I am pretty far off but I will fear the day! Anyhow, I was working at the front desk and my boss asks me to help him move a coke machine up the stairs and, like a dumbass, I did and now my back is barking at me and I have one less reason to not smoke...

Wait what was I mad about again???? Well, my brain spinach has its work cut out for it tonight and I will be getting a double dose of pics when I get home... One set from this morning and the other from the day's growth. Then...:eyesmoke:

Any how, I will be putting that 18/6 into effect tonight cuz I could always do well with a lower temp ( I checked my thermometer and it's 84 during lights on.) and a lower power bill! Thanks again.

Take care.

Hell yeah.. Forgot about the temps. Yeah, lowering those temps is real good..

I think "getting to the point where you cant get high" is a fallacy. Of course with using any drug people get more used to it and are able to function while on it.. But theres not a point where you cant get high. You even meet an alcoholic who cants get DRUNK anymore?.. anyone who says they dont is nuts. :)

I get WAY more growth while my lights are off by the way. I can leave my plants during their whole ON period and at the end they havent noticably grown.. but if I come back when the lights are done being OFF they are way bigger.

Im kinda blazed so I have no idea if any of that shit made sense... Plus this movie "South Central" is on and it keeps grabbing my attention.. lol

Day 18 of Veg - Oh shit, dude! I would never impose so much as to burn your high time! Enjoy your few hours of heaven and when you get back you will see what all the fuss is about... Oh yeah and I must ask... that skunky smell that I am getting a hold of... this is a portent of much stonger things to come... damn... I walked into my room - camera in hand- and froze dead in my doorway... All I could clearly think was that someone had found my stash and angrily smashed its glass contaner against the wall airing out its contents... but where was the glass? A few whiffs and calm breaths later I realized what it was. MY PLANT! it is already getting a bit musty lol I have a negative ion generator already though... hope it helps. I am just waiting now for the lights to turn off now... the timer is set and I have already watered my nameless seedling. She is about to get dubbed by the end of the weekend and I may be documenting a clone op pretty soon! No need for water since a mammoth soaking on wednesday.

I realized I never asked a real question... I will just hold onto it til I forget, then. I'm so glad I will always be able to enjoy my brain spinach...

enjoy these pics as much as I enjoyed taking all 15 or 16 of them! They span both day 17 and day 18.

Take care.

I just looked at your pics out of order.. since Im Fd up I basicallly looked at each pic about 10 times each over the span of about 10 mins... so they were definately enjoyed. I didnt know you had only 1 plant and it is in a rectangle pot...

It looks really good. Looks an awful lot like #3.

Dude I have a bunch more compliments to say but I keep forgetting them... woooo wweeeeeeeeee

OH YEAHM you said you got one of those ionerz already.. You mean already in USE? or you own one already but havent put it in the grow area??

I dont have any noticeable ordor from my plants by smell at all!

oh and dude.. this part made me sooo confused
