I'm thinking the best lighting technique would be a hybrid of HID and LED maybe t5 I really like those sun spinners 6 different bulbs at 150 watts apiece seem so much more efficienthttp://www.google.com/imgres?q=Lifelight+sun+spinner&um=1&hl=en&sa=X&biw=1016&bih=639&tbm=isch&tbnid=a9itKg_F82w7WM:&imgrefurl=http://hanf.ws/cannabisculture/forum/rollituporg/107191-its-here-no-its-not-actually-the-revolutionary-plant-mover-rpm.html&docid=wvtko3yOiclSHM&w=470&h=135&ei=LYFdTo7SB8yBtgearLThAw&zoom=1&iact=rc&dur=504&page=1&tbnh=56&tbnw=196&start=0&ndsp=12&ved=1t:429,r:2,s:0&tx=74&ty=36You are correct. The plants will lean more towards the led only because it is more a "pure" light. Because of the mixed spectrum the plants seem to like it. BUT you will never be able to compete when it comes to the yield aspect. I've seen a few led grows recently in California and I must say the plants look amazing! But even they were telling me they wish they never switched over completely. they have saved a lot more money in energy but in turn it is about the same cost because they are now producing left. As a result, the owner of the warehouse said he wish he would of not been on the ban wagon for the LEDs and in turn done more research. They are now starting to run both hps with LEDs and have been telling me that it is truly the best. They get all the mixed spectrums from LEDs plus the intensity of the hps. Which, in the end, you get the outstanding colors in your bud plus the density everyone craves. I've seen alot of led grows and IMHO it isn't worth it to me to only run those.
