Nice, plants look healthy! Love the strain, pound plants outdoor forsure. Ive notice that in you past journal, you seem to be a person of quality, so with that being said, im sure your going to have a great review of the quality between the two. You should try a blind test and maybe even a placebo effect. Lol getting way ahead oh my self, day 29

Great comparison grow! Like you said in the video, heat reduction during the warmer months is a major plus for LED.

Someone who knows a bit about LEDs looked at the Apache and told me it's badass. He said lots of white clustered close together should have excellent PAR. I think maybe they could optimize their spectrum a little more though. Or not.

Another grower told me that LED plants need 3 times as much nutes at one point in the flowering cycle.

This grow is awesome. I love the comparison between the two. I'm actually looking to replace a 1000 Watt for a 4x4, so I'll be following this close.

Hell yeah. Both sides are doing great. Are the two sides getting the same number of feeds per week and at the same time as each other?
What's up brother.
They are getting the same feed at the same times. Each side has one plant yellowing slightly. Very even with the feed/water.

Your right about quality over quantity. They do damage in the yield department though. But the first time I had dream it blew me away in the bong, and it still never lets me down from 2 yr old outdoor. I don't smoke anything but my own, so all I can say is if you do it right like I think I do, it's arguably the best sativa period...smoker and grower.
Looking bad ass. The difference in bud size was one of the things I wanted to see in this side by side. My buddy always does HPS and he gets bigger buds but mine are normally stronger and more dense. Can't wait to see how this all turns out.
Totally agree with you that LED is more even sized to the HPS while the HPS may be a lil thicker atm on the tops.
Edit:weird that I can like in some threads and not others, but on my moblie app I can like all I want??
Thanks.I expected the difference but had hopes for a closer show. But it's not over till it's over.
Subbed!
I have been vegging some girls under Kessil LEDs and I am about to start flowering the Blue Dream. I may be asking for advice if you don't mind
Cheers,
Mo
Welcome aboard Mo! I'm glad to help where I can. I plan on running dream for a while so w

I have been using apache's for a while. I love them.
The nuts are similar at this point...but they were vexed under LED so they are primed for great uptake.

Thanks. That is the goal here so you found the right grow.

Looks great. Everything is very green and healthy. Leaves are praying too. You are lucky with the temps. Here, it was 98 degrees yesterday and 81 degrees last night. Last week we had beach weather. Now its getting to volcanic temps.

I actually ha my only heat issues over the past couple days due to how hot it's been here. Mellowed out yesterday and today so far though.

Hello. Just thought I would let everyone know I have a little side by side grow going with an 8 week veg. No rules or anything, all in fun, wish I could give out prizes to the winner, but its against forum rules. Anyways I would like if everyone could join. I also added a side bonus. Lets see who can get those 3 ounce monster cola's or more ;) 3 ounce contest thread ->https://www.rollitup.org/p/10396937/

Feed/watered 2 nights in a row...they are on a uptake binge like no other. Next round is 10gals(true 10gals) fabrics. Same soil/coco mix as this.

It's only going to get hotter. I really don't want an AC running on top of all my lights. Next round will be 4x12(one more 4x4) and at least another 600w of something....so heat is going to be a big issue soon. My room is too short, so the volume is too low for the square footage it is and heat builds too quick. And it's insulated.

The cross over with multiple apaches is sweet. We had 4 in a 8x8 tent and there isn't a place under 700µmols anywhere.

I like the idea of big plants...but it's not a side by side grow.
This is just me using 2 lights(led and hps) side by side. Same strain, medium, nuts, environment...just the lights different.
well from what I see, good lookin girl...err umm girls ;)
Thanks man. No matter what the results end up...both sides are going to be winners and something to talk about.

lol. No, I wasn't implying you had a side by side bro. I have the SBS going and posted the links for anyone interested in joining. 8 week veg this go round. No other requirements. :)

And thats cool. I use a mixed spectrum myself. LED + HPS. the LED is a 800 watt, the HPS is a 600 watt.

Mine is a side by side. As side by side as it gets...only one variable, the rest constant.
Yours is basically of the opposite of mine...just one constant as compared to my just one variable. So that is why I was saying yours was about big plants not a side by side.
But its a cool grow and show no doubt. I am going to pass on the invite but I imagine plenty of people will drop in to show you their big plants.
And thats cool. I use a mixed spectrum myself. LED + HPS. the LED is a 800 watt, the HPS is a 600 watt.
The point of a side by side to me, is to see differences and effects that each variable has. So that is why they are divided. But if this wasn't for science/theory proving...then they would be crossing over and mixing.

Very nice. I was hoping to see the apache doing better though. I will be ordering my first one in the morning. I'm betting on it beating the hps on the gpw and potency.

I was too but it's really not far behind.
I will say that this will probably be my best hps run to date. So the competition is tough...but we will see in the end. As long as it's with in 15% I think I can call it worth it and a valid replacement.

I have been lagging and not rotating the plants.. so I have to get back on it. They look so good out on their own...

They are all drinking so much I am watering/feeding every night. They just got a well brewed tea and a rotation. They are borderline root bound. The whole thing is root mass, small roots everywhere.
I need to get some more soil so I might top dress with straight 420mix. Give a little sustained boost. Plus give the roots another inch or two...they are out the top of the mix right now.

Then I will mix 50/50 420mix and coco...plus add guanos, meals, and castings...= 420 super coco mix

Thats what I'm talking about! its a catch 22 being almost root bound , but I figure the more waterings you can get in without over watering/feeding the better the yield will be. thats been my own personal experience.
I'm actually doing a side x side with(pre-bagged) tga soil/tga super soil mix at about 70/30 give or take VS coco/tga supersoil 50/50 and the coco/supersoil side is kicking ass in speed growth rates.
