Another racist!

You are correct, but you are smart enough to understand how it was intended.

As for hate crime versus any other crime, I agree.

The punishment for murdering someone should be the same whether race was the reason it was committed or not.
what about if it was planned out ahead of time versus not planned out ahead of time?

Yes, imo.
so why do you want to punish one crime more harshly based on the intent and motive of the criminal, but not the other?

why is premeditated murder more heinous than non-premeditated murder, but racial hatred based crimes are not more heinous than non-racial hatred based crimes?

how do you explain your double standard which excuses racism as not more heinous?

Premeditation shows that the criminal knew his actions were wrong. Lack of premeditation doesn't necessarily show lack of knowledge but, again imo, you have to allow for homicide commited in the heat of the moment.

Both are homicide and both should be punished. Premeditated being punished more harshly imo.

Kinda funny how those who most loudly claim to want race to be a non-issue always consider race when viewing issues.

you never explained why you think racial hatred based crimes are at the same level of heinousness as non-racial hatred based crimes.

how do you explain your double standard that excuses racial hatred based actions as not more heinous?

Ummm, because in my mind, race doesn't come into play. We're all humans. A black life =a white life=a brown life=a purple life.

I don't view a crime and think of race. A crime against a human is a crime against a human.

so when some person beats the shit out of a gay person, calling them a faggot the whole time, their bigoted hatred did not come into play?

when a black person beats the shit out of a hwite person calling them a stupid honkey the whole time, their racial hatred did not come into play?

don't even try to delude yourself with this whole "oh i'm so colorblind, i luv rawn pawl!!!" nonsense.

Did I say it didn't come into play? But a human is a human. If a white criminal says "I'm gonna go kill a black man", premeditated. Same white criminal decides it's gonna be a white guy, premeditated. Same white criminal decides it's gonna be the first person he sees, premeditated.

Both are assault and battery, regardless of motive, and should be treated as such. It's obviously a hate crime if you beat the shit outta someone, why else would you beat the shit out of someone? Why does our society feel the need to differentiate? Someone was still harmed, it should be treated the same.

Do I delude myself and claim to be colorblind or completely unprejudiced? No, society will not allow any of us to be thus. I try very hard though, to see people for who they are through their words and, more importantly, their deeds.

your exact words were "race doesn't come into play".

But a human is a human. If a white criminal says "I'm gonna go kill a black man", premeditated. Same white criminal decides it's gonna be a white guy, premeditated. Same white criminal decides it's gonna be the first person he sees, premeditated.
so we've already established that some crimes are more heinous than others, and that you are willing to look at them as such based on the intent and motive of the criminal.

so why do you excuse motive as meaningless when the motive is the race of the victim, or the intent is to foment racial hatred and violence?

meet jonathan lynn henery and beau edward hansen.

their extensive rap sheets include burglary, aggravated assault, malicious injury to property, witness intimidation, DUI, aggravated battery, false impersonation of an officer, resisting and obstructing officers, battery on an officer, and multiple parole violations.

last october they beat a black man just because he was black at the torch II lounge in boise idaho, all based on their shared racist beliefs.

should they get a more severe punishment for their actions because their entire motive and intent was racial hatred?

so assault and battery is assault and battery no matter what?

jonathan lynn henery and beau edward hansen should receive the same punishment as any other people convicted of assault and battery, even though their sole motive and intent was to beat the shit out of a black person for being black, all stemming from their shared belief in white supremacy?

i think they should receive a more severe punishment based on their intent and motive being more heinous.

I think they should receive a more sever punishment, because they're chronic offenders and obviously a menace to society in general.

Being known white supremacists, the aforementioned assault was obviously premeditated. So yeah, worse penalty. It's not the motive, it's their actions. I hate canned peas. Should I be punished worse than someone who doesn't if I beat up the guy who's restocking them?
