Interesting, so the problem plants were all the sativa pheno? Mine came with the Barney's cardboard card, so I'm confident they are "legit", but I have to say some of the palest, puny little seeds I have seen. I was hoping to see some sexy tiger stripes for my c-note :(
I thought the same thing..

The way you worded your first post sounded like your in the US

There are rip off seed banks of note, who supply you with nothing more then bag seed. - FACT!

It was not a stretch to put these 2 things together......You never told us where you were.....easy to make the jump...
Breeders not based in the US do not sell to US based outlets for fear of FEDERAL laws! It is illegal to distribute seeds in the US. When we order - we put ourselves at risk. Seed Banks fall into a gray area and are not prosecuted. Why do YOU think many former US based breeders MOVED to the NL?
ANY EU based seeds found in US a dispensary, have been bought BUY the dispensary FROM a seedbank and are reselling them themselves - they do not buy them direct from breeders as MOST breeders will not ship to the US...Some Banks will....
GOT IT NOW!
How about you don't make assumptions about how the seed market works here either!
Trust me, we DO wish we could have little shops all over selling breeders gear! On that point, your lucky!
Ok, I get it. Barney's made a mistake......Thanks for finally clearing away the facts between your earlier posts....

Doc
Sory I had information, that selling (seeds only) is legal in US. I was talking to few US fellow growers. I guess their information was incorrect.
Nevertheless this ripping customers in any way is something unheard of. Legal or semi-legal. All I can say is WTF and I pray for their souls.

I clearly wrote that Barney fucked up in one of the earlier posts.

Hello

Well the big shock. After opening my box, i couldnt believe my eyes. 8 out of 8 plant turned male. The seeds should be feminized OFC.
I guess they werent. Im not new at growing but I have no idea how could that happen.

Any suggestions?

Strain: Barneys farm - Cookies kush.
The same happened to me with sensi seed's super skunk auto feminized, money making scam,go with regular seed's this is just proof that the strain has just been thrown together with out any extensive testing.

This is one of the main reason's that feminized seeds should not be the 1st choice when it come's to growing,i think that these seed's have had a very bad effect on the plant to be honest, just buy regular and veg take a clone of each one just before flowering and just pull the males out, that way the clone can then be kept for a very long time with out the worry of it producing seed's.

A reg seed can produce seed's but stick with a decent breeder and strain and its not has likely has a fem one,i sent sensi seeds a message about it and photo's i could not believe there reply, they said there seed's are only sold for souvenir's and should not be germinated i will never use then again.

The only dutch breeder i use now are marijunaseedsnl by far the best on the (dutch) market 10/10 germination rate, but i only ever use them for regular seed's,i hate everything about feminized seed's,talk to any decent breeder of cannabis and they will all say the same, some of the best strains around are only done in fem seeds very sad ,to be honest i wish green house would start doing regular versions of there feminized strains.I think out of all the fem breeders greenhouse are with the best.

I would love greenhouse seeds nevilles haze, there lemon haze, lemon skunk ,super silver haze just a shame we can't get the seed's in regular like i say,so i just stay clear all togeather i don't like seed's in my bud unless i'm growing for seed's in a breeding project,

Yeah. I planted their seeds before. No problems. I had numerous beautiful gardens. With all kind of strains and breeders. And there was a hermi in 1 of 100. Thats ok.
But 8 out of 8. And onemansmokeshow had the same problem with the same strain. And the strain is new. I bet there will be more reports like this. There was a bad batch of seeds. Im quite sure of it now.

Everything was by the book. I really am not new at this.
Humidity 50 - 55%
PH: 6 - 6,5 (soil)
Light: 12/12 / dark room tent
Temperature: 24 ° at day / 18 ° at night
Pots: Air pots 11 litre
A friend of mine once did one yearsago,i think it was world of seeds he used for seeds,he had 10 males 10/10 gutted is a under statement,ya ever seen a grown man cry.He was hard work ya know the sort knew it all never wanted help,he phoned me at week 5 of flowering and said come and have a look, full of males, that bad i burnt all me cloths and did not go in my room for about a week after.

Touché, didn't specify you meant seed. However if an S1 or cross of cookies isn't real cookies you can say pretty much any strain isn't the real deal if from a cut.

What I was saying is Barneys likely didn't use the real cookies cut in their cross as opposed to say Sin City who obviously has used the real cut just by looking at it you can tell.

And don't hate on the Hawks cause their winners! Lol. Pretty sub par this season though outside the second line which is downright nasty. You up in CA?
Nope Red Wings territory - They can improve too!

Yeah most cookies strains out there are "rebuilds"......"lets see, they used this and maybe this and this so we cross these and wah-la,,,cookies" ---FAH!

I like some of Riots gear - he has a bad rep back history but, some fly strains.....I'm told his 21 cookies is FAB....

Peace on bro

Well I was kinda waiting to update on my Cookies Kush til I had pics to post, but I'm having technical difficulties and at this point I've decided the universe has spoken re: me having a camera lol. So atm I have 1 CK I put on 12/12 about 3 weeks from sprout and 2 more I gave 8 weeks. Of the 2, one is the bushy wide-leaf pheno and the other is the lanky narrow-leaf one, both have been healthy and vigorous since the start. I would say expect 3x stretch on the lanky pheno and very little so far on the bushy one. The early flower was a test and I ended up stressing it some thru poor scheduling on my part and having no room for it, but after about 2 weeks of shitty cfls then 4 more now under the 600w hps she is looking awesome. She was about 8-10" tall going into flower and is now about 24", topped for 8 colas. So far I have to say my doubts are greatly eased, I'm seeing big frosty buds on the first one and all 3 are clearly girls. I'm trying to dial in a fairly new op so it's far from a stress-free environment, and that's had me concerned about hermie reports but so far (knock on wood ;) ) , I haven't seen any problems.

Here's a few terrible pics to give some idea, this lady only vegged for 3 weeks and is now I think around 8 weeks in flower (maybe 2 to go?). Just for reference when she was flipped she was about as tall as the lollypop line in the pics, literally all the growth is from flower cycle. IMO the smell is off-the-charts good and I can't wait to smoke some lol, my doubts are greatly relieved...

Good job. I can't wait to be as far along as that! Now my cookies kush are doing better than my peppermint kush. But both strains are thriving so far. Still in veg and will be topping for 4 colas in the next few days.

Hey Guy, didn't you have 2 phenos?

I do (kinda). I have 2 more I vegged for a proper 8 weeks, I'll try to grab a few pics 2mrw. One is very similar in look to this one I posted, only about 4 times as many colas thanks to a homemade pot-mounted scrog screen ;). She did get pretty stretchy due to flower room overcrowding, but I expect good things :). The other started out with more wide leaf blades and tighter node spacing but her top half has gotten pretty narrow-bladed, and I think her scent is slightly different, though it's still early to tell (4 weeks flower 2mrw).

I should add that before 6 months ago I'd never even kept a houseplant, I'm literally starting from 0exp. I grew out a batch of 4 dispensary clones and 5 clones off them before ordering these seeds so that gives some idea of what you can get without being a master gardener. Also on that note, I'm a KISS guy on nutes as well. I give DynaGro Foliage and ProTekt in veg and mix Foliage and Bloom in flower. A few grains of Epsom salt for mag as needed... Someone with skills willing to pile up a bunch of fancy food would probably blow these things up lol.

Talk about making bank off the hype...

The only thing GSC or OG related in that strain is the name.
I wouldn't buy beans from a dutch breeder to find California genetics.

I bought fem seeds from a well known seed bank a few years ago and they all went male and in the garbage, wasn't very impressed.

All the names for strains are a form of hype. But if the end result is good bud who really cares what it's called or where it came from. Not like I'm traveling to Afghanistan for the sake of getting a landracer. Christ I only smoke blunts. I'm not a snob.

No shit, it's like not eating Italian food if you aren't in Italy lol. Who cares, 'hype" or not, this is some really nice looking flower for my skill level. At $8 a seed (and a bunch of great freebies) I really couldn't care less if it's cookiefam approved, I'm calling it a good deal ;)

It doesn't matter where it came from, your paying for genetics.
Some people that grow GSC or OGkush have high expectations because of the clone only versions.

Barney should've used another name if he wasn't going to use either of the original clones to create the strain.
The clones aren't all hype, but Barney is trying to cash in on the names alone.

There are many breeder's that use the real clones to create their strains.
Prices are similar to Barney's, but your getting what you pay for.

I guess a fanboy cheerleader will find any excuse to promote fake genetics.
