link to grow in my sig. I'll update when I feel necessary.

This is more of a case study for me. I'm not growing for efficiency or anything like that.

I will be transplanting to bigger pots sometime this week, and I will still be vegging for another 2-3 weeks probably.

and please, I welcome any and all input.

The best approach is to find out the NPK and micro values/ratio. If you don't know that, you'll never become a master gardener.

If you really analyze the "cannabis specific" foods, you'll realize that most of them are crap, designed to empty the pockets of primarily noobs or the unsophisticated grower, their primary targets.
Sorry dont mean to hijack your thread
Just want to say unc ive learned alot from your posts. Im deeply interested in learning more about the canna diet, can you start a thread on your feeding regimin. Ive followed your topping tec and have been using the ff ful line. am on my 2nd grow 4 weeks flower.

I have been considering switching from Fox Farms to Dyna Gro for quite a while now...... not Peters or Schultz though..... I would NEVER USE AN!!!

you can call their support line and leave a message...... and get no reply...... because they don't want to answer my in depth questions (I have left 12 messages now asking questions on point), nor will they respond to my emails. I have simply told them I will happily switch to their product, and use it on large scale... if they would simply answer in full detail a very specific series of questions..... the only time I have gotten a reply back is when I don't include the questions.... and the reply is that they would be happy to answer any questions I have about USING the product..... they don't seem too eager to answer ANY questions about the products themselves....

Dyna Gro, however was quite the opposite. They were more than happy to explain everything they could to me about the products, including source materials, mixing procedures, sterilizations, concentration fluctuations, storing and shipping practices, alternative product uses, additional products or additives that may or may not be beneficial and in what ways etc. etc. Lol.... we even got into a little lengthy conversation about WHY they use the ratios they do (had to wait for a call back from their bio chem tech though.... and it was worth it) They understood exactly WHY I use BBB along with my FFTB and BB....... she even admitted that in combining the two (FF and BB), I do get an added benefit that their products don't have without purchasing their supplement (pro tekt)..... We even discussed using other media (besides their gro rocks) and agreed that their products would work best with either pure CoCo, or a less N-P-K buffered media like Bio Bizz All Mix (after about 30 minutes they said BBAM would probably be the best thing to use)

I am already very familiar with Fox Farms products, and I think have made it clear that I am not completely satisfied with their products using them by themselves. When Used appropriately though, I would definitely say, that you get More Bang for your BUCK out of FF than AN. And I am about to do a comparison to see about whether or not I will get more Bang for My BUCK out of using Dyna Gro as apposed to FF.

u said u never used AN then u say u get more bang for ur buck using FF rather than AN?? i think ur just a hater who listens to people who talk shit about the AN line..u said urself you have never used it so how would u know if its good or not? Y r people talkin shit about AN i dont get it? its just a nutrient if u dont like it dont use it..if u cant afford it dont buy it..if u think their rippin people off mind ur own business..back to the REAL thread is it ok to mix FF and AN together? id say yes cuz i heard this guy talking about it on this one thread....haha

I wonder how many people actually got to read the long post that got him banned. I saw it deleted, and wasn't sure if TLD deleted it himself or Fdd deleted it and banned him.
What went down with that? He's been a here awhile hasn't he? I didn't see it.

first of all,i am not a all out fox farm line guy,but i do use it.I whould like to say i do not follow rules&shit like that, and i do not belive in marijuana specific nute's,o.k,i use the hole line, for soil,if used as the plant grows, not when they tell you to,the stuff works,i let all my plants get to 18"befor flower, but if i veg for 1 month and flower,i will most likey have to wait for hairs, but when i use open sesame i get hairs in 3-4 days after a feeding,i do not want to go on and on,yes the n-p-k is off for some of the stuff, but when used right,at the right time in your plants life,it works,i think UB is saying quit being a follower,of nutes that are more than likely tested on tomatos&shit of that matter.:bigjoint:

First of all this is my first post and by no means do i regard myself as an expert. But over the years i think i've picked up on a few things. I think for starters you all make some good points regarding both NPK ratios as well as w/ the new plant regulators. I use multilple different brands of products and have great results and have also over the years tried to use a cost effective way to grow as well. I currently use Fox Farm base nutrients at a reduced level and add in Metanatural Bloom 1-5-5 and GH Micro at different times during the grow. I also use GH blend and nectar w/ their Floralicous plus during the whole grow. The only FF soluable i use is Cha Ching (watch out w/ their Open Sesame, i've seen forced seed production if used too strong). I use Grotex Monster Bloom (i used their carb max but can no longer get it) so i use AA Carbo Load. Put in Humbolt Countys Bushmaster (once to stop height),SnowStorm (light, really light) and Gravity at 21 days out for 3 feedings. Occasional use of Canna's Rhizotonic and Cannazym and some other beneficials for the soil and all is good.
So I guess my point is use what works for you and your strain. Mine is pretty forgiving and always gets adjusted depending on what a new strain can take.
All that shit and I spend about 400 a grow on nutes. Advanced would be about 1500. My friend is trying Cutting Edge and my formula and they are way behind. I tried it on 5 different varieties and had 2 show signs of Mag def. and slow growth. Swithced em back and away they went. I guess its just about learning their formula and PH bal. nutes (sketches me out).
By the way I use 4 1000's and pull a qp per plant on a 2 week veg, 1 wk transition, 8 week flower.

lol at imaulle...

But you're not feeding any micronutrients and your orchid high nigtrogen fetrilizer is unhealthy for your plant and if not given an extended flush 2 weeks + will reflect in taste [especially in soil].
I won't need to feed any micronutrients, as Jack's Classic is a complete food for soil

I hear ya bro. I do what works for me cause I have it dialed in. Really you could use anything but it comes down to what works for you. If it ain't broken don't fix it.

UB
so how do you go about finding out the required NPK values?

You don't need to use just 1 brand....I mix and match....I mix and match everything from Roots Organic, AN, Foxfarm, House and Garden....Each has certain things that work amazing, just need to figure out the right combination and experiment till you find what works for you
