400 MH/HPS Veggie Grow

Hey all,

I've had my whole setup for growing just sitting in a storage unit, because as of my current living situation I am unable to grow.

I got bored and decided to set it up here, but for a vegetable garden.

As of right now I've just got various lettuce growing in it, but will soon be adding some hot peppers and tomatoes.

I am currently using a 400 HPS ballast with a vented reflector hood and a Sunmaster 400W MH conversion bulb.

I have a bunch of seedlings in small cups of dirt, but some will eventually be moved to my aeroponic tub.

Soil is Fox Farm Ocean Forrest, no nutes yet, and im using distilled water.

The temperature usually stays in the mid-upper 70's and low 30% humidity.

What do you guys think? Is my temp/humidity gonna be a problem?

Im using these to test out various growing techniques and hone them in so when I can finally grow pot again I can know what works best for me.

Some will be transplanted into larger pots with soil, and some will probably end up in the aero.

i did hydro and soil when i started my garden. i ended up just going with soil
I agree & think hydro is great for starting the plants and getting them strong. I started out with a very simple ebb&flow system for organic basil & beefsteak tomatoes and now they're both at least 9 inches & very strong. Along with some big max pumpkin seeds whose roots are amazingly thick after only 2 days.. they're all going outside to a small garden.

Cheers & REP.

i have striped tomato plants in dixie cups with stems over 1cm thick with potting soil. dirt is always the best to me. hydro is just more fun because you have to do more work

no offense bro, but who really gives a crap about lettuce :), if u were growing what u should be growing, i would say your temp. is good, humidity up around 40 to 45%. good luck with the veg grow.

ive never seen any reason to grow organic
From what i understand, organic bud tastes better and perhaps looks better, but thats just what i heard.

Anyways here some update pics

I also have a single raddish going just for the hell of it. It was just barely poking out of the ground yesterday and now it almost half an inch. Gotta love that 400w MH.

Transplant coming soon too, the roots look awesome
