24 hour dark period before flowering?

hey guys I'm switching to flowering and I was doing some research and I had found a couple threads about giving your plants a 24 hour dark period before switching to 12/12 lighting to help "speed up" the transition from veg to flower. I don't have much time to flower and Harvast so I'm trying to do things as fast but that the same time natural. Do you guys think it makes a big enough difference or do you think I should just start 12/12 like everyone else?

I too have read the same thing. I do not know about the beginning but I like to give em 72 hours of dark at the end. Really helps with the frost. Now, whether the THC content changes. Couldn't tell ya. But people buy frost. Just FYI, time is about the only thing we can't control. The plants will take the time they need, always.

Gotchya! Well I know there's a lot of things that are variables in flowering time, but would you happen to maybe know how long GSC takes to flower. Only reason I ask is because my lease is up April 26th

Lol um, I do not the flower time. I think they're too many variables for anyone to give you an educated guess. I do not recommend growing in someone's space/house/apt unless they know what's going on.

Ive read the same stuff and i just dont get the logic.

Nobody is going to fool any plant into anything. It will follow its own genetic code and begin blooming on its own time after it senses consistency in environmental changes... one 24 hour dark period is not enough and it is completely unatural....

Im not like some plant bio expert right.
But from what i understand flowering locus t initiates flower.
Essentially the hormones arent stable in light. At night they build and initiate flower formation. This process restarts every day. And every night it flowers again. Its technically flowering the first night of 12/12 or what genetics dictate right..
Basically...
The 24hr dark will help build hormomes but imo at most you knock a single day off flower time.
But thats as much of an educated opinion i can give

I only do this when I've found plants to have been seriously stressed,

like 24/7 thru veg, and or many hermies are expected,(like with bubblegum etc)

I see it as 'resetting the clock'

although a different clock is soon required

if so greedy for weed

consider growing autos instead..?

good luck

I've done 36 hours of dark ness they mostly stretch looking for light in my opinion n it's. For when u want ur plants to stretch a little. I never do it in flowering tho. Just in veg. Say my plants are looking droopy I'll just give them 24 hours of dark ness 24 hours of light an the leafs stand full tilt and put them on there regular schedule. And they grow like mad monsters in those periods. For some reason mayb it's just good timing and I do it at the times my plant start growing good

because growing under a HPS light for 12 hrs with elevated c02 and in a plastic pot is so NATURAL.:dunce:
