It's been a good ride for sure. I learned so much during this grow. Between reading, discussion, practical application, and observation I'm feeling much more confident about growing these days. The first grow has been an experience :) I would really like to upgrade to a very small HPS in my cab. I'd like to just run a 150w HPS. Hopefullly some day! I had to buy some odor removal gel, I had been able to get away with dryer sheets up until this point, but she is just really stinking the place up hah. I'm out of town but will get back tomorrow. I'll make sure to update and put some pics up. Puff Puff Pass :leaf:

Those are some nice buds oldmerchant :D
I wouldnt get a 150w hps, cfl are actually more effecient than hps until you get to about 350-400w, if you had like 200w of cfl it would produce less heat than an hps and produce less heat, just my 2 cents.

No offense man but your 2 cents made no sense at all. CFLs ARE more efficient when it comes to power and heat but as far as light intensity, HPS produces alot more lumens. 150w HPS would be like 16000 lumens compared to 150 actual watts of CFLs would be like 9000. Depending on your grow room and what your goal is, both are quite efficient. If you have the space and proper fans HPS are ideal and definitely worth the Bang for your buck. CFLs are just a great alternative to use.

depends on how you do it man...see the way to get max lumens out of cfls is to use a bunch of smaller one...the 23w cfl puts out 1600 lumes and the 125w puts out 5000 lumens.
when a 150w hps puts out 13000 lumens. problem is a bunch of 23w cfls get hot as shit. i used 10 my first grow and 5-9 every grow since
The good thing about using a bunch of the 23w's is that you can posistion them where ever you need them. if you click my sig under first grow, the first page that pops has the last pics i took of her. cfl's work awesome bro, and if heat isnt a factor in your grow room and your only growing a few plants...def way to go man if you dont mind having to move and posistion the bulbs and wires man. im about to veg with a single 150w cfl and flowers with a 400hps. hanging up the cfl belt but i will never forget my roots lol!

I'm feeding every other watering basically. Not strictly but basically. I feed almost every other watering, and then I flush the nutes out of the medium and re-apply. Switching between flower and veg nutes depending on how the leaves and stems are looking.

That might be a good idea. I havent really thought of putting any veg nutes in now during flowering. I know that its heavier in nitrogen. My leaves dont look deficient, but maybe that will do something.
So youre flushing that much? What do you mean when you say flush?

Okay so not really a total flush like I've read some people do. I just feed her with a spray bottle full of water, mix my nutes in and poor into the soil. Then a couple days later when the top has dried out a little bit, I pour about half a gallon of water through the soil. Enough so the run off is clear water rather than gross water. I do this because I've ph'd the water after and it's more to my liking. Then I normally either feed again in a couple days or I'll just re-water if she doesn't look like she wants more nutes. Then repeat.

side note: I feel that I need to put veg nutes in because I lost all the fan leaves. Again everything I say is subject to the bullshit first time grower law, but this is just how I feel.

I gotcha. It seems like youre using a LOT more water than me, but then again your buds are much bigger than mine are at this point..I have nutrients in every watering though. They probably get a quart a day, and Ive never flushed. Ive been using Tiger Bloom and Big Bloom. I have some Grow Big for vegging, might throw a pinch in there next time.

you're doing the right thing man!!!!! some people give their plants a shot of nitrogen around 4 weeks of flower. I don't, i just let me leaves yellow like yours are. it's just the plant saying it's life is almost over and it uses all it's stored N and doesn't need anymore. This also happens in nature.

i too use those nutes and so far have been working wonders. Do you have pics of your babies? My grow is in my sig if you wanna take a look.

@ merchant
That seems like a pretty solid way to give your plants nutes. What are you phing the water at? my run off is about 6.4-6.5

Thats awesome of you to say brother. Ill be sure to share if I have something I believe you could learn from. I need to get on fixing my camera so I can get some closeups of the little buds. Brings me to my question, whats the situation with the pistils on your plant? are they still mostly white?
