1212 from seed..! BS...

Ok, so I have a question for some of the guys that like to go 12/12. I'm only on my first grow, have a 1000W MH/HPS. If I started 12/12 from seed how many plants could you fit, and how much of a yield would you think you could get. Not me, but you. Just curious and want to weigh the options. The difficult part with that is it takes more seeds which is a bit of a pain for me. Also, is it smarter to get the plant started and healthy, then move to 12/12?

IDK what you mean by 'get plant started and healthy', that's kinda cheating LOL
The whole idea of this thread was "From seed", meaning a 12/12 schedule from the time it pops through the soil, or time you plant in soil.
I know I'm not going to get much of a harvest, as both of my plants actually started with maybe a 6/18 for the first month and half, under a flourescent tube four feet high, then went outside where they have been ever since.
Aside from a little bout with a mag deficiency on my Sativa, and just over a week ago, a phosphorus lockout from the cold on my Indica, they haven't really had any problems, just poor lighting.

Chuckys right the whole point in 12-12fs is the quickness of it really, or at least one of the pro's about it, you having a short veg time is just using more time.

Not saying don't do it, its just your not really doing 12-12fs.

im doin 12/12 from seed my plants are beautiful and don't have a problem with it...very good method and works great for smaller spaces....veg guys... give it a try before you tlk down on it man...anything is worthy of a try...you jst might like it....

Around 12/13 weeks, flowering usually starts around week 3/4 for me. This Skunk plant went 14 weeks from start to finish.

I've seen it both ways I have some buddies that clone and then right into flower they go. It's saidnyou can maximize your yield this way. It makes sense if plant count is high enough. If not veg for a little bit and do it that way. Basically do what works for you in your space if your not happy with your results from 12-12 do it different until u find results your looking for. It's really all about turn over time. No veg is gonna make a quick harvest just the flowering time if you veg it could be 3 or more weeks onto that because of veg time so...

I took on a 12/12 from Seed challenge. Planted 4 strains.

* Blue Widow (Dinafem)
* White Rhino X Mazar (World of Seedss)
* OG13 (G13 Labs)
*Kandy Kush (Reserva Privada)

The WR X M and the OG13 love it. The other 2 are not good candidates for 12/12 and would have been better with a 30 to 45 day veg. I will, however, reserve judgement until harvest for each one. The WR X M is doing so well that I planted my other 3 seeds of it and they will be 12/12.

Oftentimes it's the singer and not the song. No one method is perfect but this would be great for those with hectic schedules.

Add: the OG13 is just slightly behind the WR in flowering but is every bit as tall and budding well now. It is G13 Labs' OG Kush plain and simple and a beauty!

Would recommend either for those new wanting to try 12/12.

Ok, so what size container should you use for 12/12fs? 2 Gallon? 2.5?
I've got mine (outdoor) in 5 gal., they ended up being about 4 feet tall, not counting the pot (like we're supposed to measure :) ), and they still have plenty of room.
One is an Indica-ish, and the other is a more Sativa-ish, so I think 3 would be fine.
Watch for Scrog to see if he chimes in, I've found his comments and views to be helpful.
Note:
Last night, I pulled the top 6" or so off my Indica, and got 18.3g wet, but weighing tonight, I have already lost 10.1g due to water weight.
I still have about as much to pull once it fills in a little and ripens, but my Sativa will have lots more buds, but looks like it's going to be a lot fluffier.

hmm from my understanding and what i get myself people are averaging 1-3 oz from each plant very easily with 12/12 from a seed.

That sounds like a cool experiment, but maybe it would have been better if you could have used seeds all from one supplier?

I have a nice 600w light, nice tent, great soil and nutes. 12/12 from seed does not do much for me. I have done it several times but always end up with < 1ft plant, 1 smelly beautiful bud that I can roll up in one blunt if need be. If ur growing under ur bed I could see it as a point but if u have any room at all I wouldn't do it. I see ppl posting crazy shit all the time but it just doesn't work for me

No doubt but I wanted to see if this method was close to "the" method and really see the benefits and drawbacks. If I had used Blue Widows I might have never tried another strain on 12/12.
