Anyways guy.

My concern is less about the prisoners and more about people outside the prison.

Shipping jobs into a prison is no better than sending them over seas. Well, maybe slightly better, but not by not. For the people on the outside, it's pretty much the same deal.

i'd love to know the numbers of what % of people in prison are in there for raping or are gang members or murderers like you say..

even if they are in there for murder, you support slave labor?? what's the difference between slave labor and not paying prisoners a salary comparable to the work they perform?
imo, being in jail is the penalty for the crime committed, not paying them for jobs performed after that fact is simply insulting imvho..

No one earns minimum wadge because it's not a real word. You have been corrected multiple times now. It is WAGE, with no "d". I have full filled my societal obligations to not break the law (or at least not get caught). People in prison have not. People in prison have imposed great costs on society. Because of this I don't think they deserve or are entitled to the same rights and privileges as non incarcerated people, ie minimum wage.

Is this really a concern? Someone in prison is going to steal your menial job? What kind of quality job is going to get shipped into a prison that is going to impact you?

You have no clue, it's not your fault, most people are ignorant, they like to keep us that way. Were easier to fool and manage and profit from if we are dumb.

When I was younger I worked in a call center.

That's one that's quickly going into prisons.
 
Anyways, there's no reason to start talking shit on people who have low skill jobs. Someone's gotta do them.

Call me a blue blood, but I don't see anything wrong with someone making a living with a menial job.

I don't have the statistics. I know a lot of people in prison should not be there, but I know a lot of them definitely should. I don't want to give the impression that I hate all prisoners, or I think they all deserve to be imprisoned. I know the system is bullshit, and a lot of people get railroaded for non violent drug crimes and pay a disproportionate price. However there are a lot of very bad people in prisons, and deservedly so.

I think it is disgusting that you think a murderer that is in prison deserves the same pay as me for the same job. Yes it is the same job, but there is a major difference between us that I feel justifies the discrepancy.

Prisoner in question:

Murdered someone
Is costing the tax payers tons of money ($20,000 - $50,000 /yr depending on facility and security level).

Me:

Did not murder anyone
Not costing state anything. In fact the government is taking some of my wages in order to pay to incarcerate the aforementioned murderer.

It varies by state. Minimum wage in my state is $7.40/hour.
