It's fraud.

Do you have the right to sell me a car with no engine? Same exact thing. They're selling bullshit. Selling bullshit should be illegal regardless of how stupid you are.
You can't judge someone's beliefs. You may yhink it's fraud. But what they think is what counts.
If someone believed donating all their assets to the church would buy their way into a heaven. Who are you to be allowed to legally stop them .and that alone may have given her needed comfort

I have the right to stand in competently when they cannot and make the choice for them

When my grandma was dying, she was desperate for any relief. When she turned to TV preachers asking for her money, I absolutely, and unabashedly, had every right to tell them to go fuck themselves. Yes.
I dunno dude....I know it's only natural/kindly to snap into protection mode when dealing with our beloved old folks, but as ridiculous as you might feel it is to send money to a TV huckster it's not your decision.
My granny lived to be 96 and she was pretty well out of her gourd for the last few years of her life. She'd mention Reagan as our current president, confuse cold cereal for pasta, and her TV and radio 'talked' to her in the night. Still in all, though - we always supported her dignity and humored her at every turn, even when she chose to use large chunks of her pension for things like cases of pudding cups and VHS tapes.
Not our call - Her money, her life.

Just sayin....

If they make that decision under their own faculties, have at it. If I feel like they can't, it becomes my decision

If those people weren't forcibly prevented from owning all of their own labor and could open their own food vending service
YEAH! one which wasn't burdened by onerous regulation requiring you to store meats at a certain temperature, and ENSLAVING us all by making employees wash their hands after using the bathroom. because that is RAPE.

I think we can agree some bathrooms are cleaner than others, but let's not digress.

Of course, it's a good practice to prepare food in a healthy environment. How much business would you give to a place that was dirty or had surly help ?

Do you also check your neighbors underwear to make sure it has been laundered to your satisfaction ? Or do you associate with people who you can usually rely hold the same standards as you do for cleanliness?

While you are happy to rely on such assurances, most of us who exist in the real world are not, especially when some of our livelihoods potentially depend on it

So I believe you have the right to determine who you'll do business without my making that choice for you.

Do you believe I have the right to do the same thing, make up my mind if a business meets my standards or should you decide for me?

Something does not have to be within the rule of law for me to find it acceptable

Likewise, something does not have to be outside the rule of law for me to find it deplorable

If you find something acceptable which I find unacceptable, but your choice doesn't involve me, would I have a right to make your choice for you ?

are we talking private business or business open to the public ?

Your question implies the existence of something which doesn't exist in reality but relies on government word smithing some errant terminology into existence.

Private property in order to BE private property is administered by the owner, not another entity.

When you use the term, "open to the public" that implies government has a right to determine the nature of a business relationship and also has forcibly imposed those terms on any potential participants.

Should people be forced to associate with other people they prefer not to ? Isn't that what slave holders did to some people ? They made some people serve them under threat of force for noncompliance?

Why do you think people should be forced to serve somebody they'd prefer not to associate with?

how would you know if a restaurant even met basic minimum standards if not for the existence of those standards and the regular enforcement of them through inspections?

would you ask to go back in their freezer/fridge and make sure all veggies are being stored at 37 degrees fahrenheit?
