Yeah jimmy has consistently impressed me.
Nothing you can Change now with that grow so adding more might be worse. Also if you're at about a week or two left you should just be running PHd water....or just water if you believe your dirt will fix any ph problem, right?
Looks damn good production to me especially with your problems.
you got it right, just water and along for the ride to the end,, lol and thank you

I can't wait...for the weight...
It was a first for you with cobs...so things gonna get better and better...so a hint of final phase with the next watering would be nice to clean your soil from every nutes left...to smoke a clean product...I only add water the last 2 weeks with mineral nutes and the last 8 days with organic ones!
I like your screen it is the way I grow too...nice job!
Have a great day ★

Dude, I wish I could tell you I have it figured out, but what I can say is there are many people here on Riu that are finding the new batches of Fox Farms Ocean Forrest is running HOT, and I waited the 4 weeks from transplant before I started adding nutes, and Bam all hell broke loose, now I was adding nutes very light, I was even testing them with my meters at 1/4 strength and the Total disolved solids were reading 335 to 400, and I got nute burn and nitrogen tox real fast, some say I went wrong by feeding 1/4 strength nutes 3 feedings in a row, but with soil by the time you see an issue its kinda too late , my other problem and this was pointed out to me at the start is that i had now way of flushing the soil, that may have helped,
Alright with all that said, I am temped to do as some others do on here and either run a grow in ffof with water only , of course transplant before you go into flower if you can so the plants go into fresh soil into thier final containers, I have found several threads where guys are making organic soil mixes and using water only start to finish, water only guys get a bad rap at times, but when I added nutes things F**** up big time, and before i did the plants were healthy as hell, you can see it in the pictures, some are saying that ffof was remixed to be a start to finish potting soil????
so I have to decide in the next few weeks if I am going to try another soil run,, or switch to hydro,, i have everything I need to try a flood drain,, but gosh soil is so easy other wise
Good to know about the fox farm. The current set of plants that I have are in the FFoF and my friend who is using it uses no nutrients, personally, I feel like that would be a very attractive option. I would much rather have to only think about watering the plants, and it would really cut down the need for any flushing at the end of the grow. Seems to me from an engineering perspective that going from clone into 5 gal cloth pot, veg, grow only adding water, no need to flush would really cut out a huge amount of work. Plus if you are only using water it would be much easier to implement an automated watering system...

What kind of nutrient toxicity do you think it is? Are you sure that is it not a deficiency like Mg? Maybe its just a balance issue, you added nuts and kicked the plant growth up a notch and the soil did not have enough Mg handle it? Everyone always seems to be saying that with the LEDs the plants suck up a lot more Mg.

BTW I am a newbie grower really still... only on like my 4th flowering set of plants at the time being... And I just had to add some Mg today :)

Maybe a Ph problem...
FFOF is a dream for a french grower...looks like a very good soilbag!
How much is it for 50L?
I don't know a brand available here in EU who have such a product...I even heard that some batch could burn even 1month old plant and that it was better to mix it with lightmix if you want to control feeding...
Have a great day ★

my nute issue was over fert burn and mostly Nitrogen tox, ,, how can I tell you ask, I had the classic CLAW of the leaves,, no other nute problem causes claw other than nitrogen toxicity,, and once your nit tox your screwed, it causes much less yeild and other problems,
Can you grow a complete plant start to finish is ffof,, yes several growers say you can, but your stuck, your stuck with that they give you and you cant change anything,,
My biggest mistake was not waiting for a nute def to show itself first, if ever a nute def even showed up, dont guess at nute issues, look at leaf charts and make sure what your seeing lines up with the problem, thats the biggest problem I am having with soil, quess work,, i hate guess work,, " how does it feel",,
the other biggest problem was not being able to flush, get your plants so you can either take them to the bath tub , or have them up on a grate and over a tub so you can flush, you say it would be nice to not have to flush, thats true, but what if your like me and something comes up, and your only solution is to flush to correct,
then I say if your going to the trouble to se t up to be able to flush,, then why not go hempy bucket,, and get the easy of soil, and the speed and big BOOM buds and speed of hydro,, if your going to measure run off and measure ph and other things in soil, then your already doing what hydro requires

10 $!!!! Very cheap if it is 50L bags!
And powerful as I can see...maybe better to use it with 30% coco
I would love to be able to purchase soil who can burn plants (you can start from seed with every soilbags I know...!) The worst who could happen is to have a too green plant.

I really wanted to give soil a chance, but if you start mixing in coco, and start mixing in perolite, then your actually changing the soil into guess what,, Soil-Less medium,, then if you flush the hell out of it, and strip the soil of nutes,, so then a person can add them back in, we have basically made the soil inert and we are controlling what goes into the medium for the plant to eat and drink, so I ask
if we do that, why not just start with pure coco and or pure perolite or a mix of perolite and vermiculite and then just ad the right mix of nutes from the start, then we KNOW whats going in,, whats going on and we have control over what happens

I stopped hydro because of taste...
If you grow for quantity go for hydro...but if you do it only for yourself...go organic soil...
The coco is to "cut" the very rich soil and to avoid nutes burn...
But it is always good to try new things and to make your own opinion!
Hydro gonna give you better yield when you know what you do, but you need more water and nutes.Try with a small system on 1 plant and if it's your
cup of tea change your all set up!
Have a great day ★

you are so right on,, it all depends on the person and what thier needs are, some people are soil lovers and some are hydro lovers, but if your a techy type of guy, Car mechanic type,, lol,, hydro just feels right and natural, I have no green thumb in me,, its all about the numbers, the meters the drops per gallon , ratios, and it turns out right, I just seem to screw up in dirt , 2 times now,, hahaha

There are all sorts of numbers involved in soil, however, you are making sure to set up all those numbers before you even stick the plant in the soil. Hydroponic you are just having to constantly monitor and adjust the numbers on the fly :)

Also, my latest plants finished 2 weeks early under Vero 29s 3500k, 900 watts in a 8x4 tent.

What do you call screw up???
It was the 2 first time? Is it only your second grow?
I get 150gr under 600hps 12 years ago...it was a disaster...then I try to understand why!?!...heat, nutes, air, water, medium, pots size, strain...but also your mood, state of mind, xperience, equipment...etc.
All of those factors have to be taken in consideration!!!
Normally it is a constant progression...since you're at the top of understanding and practicing!(it take 3 to 5 grow to be constant on gpw imo...without changing too much your setup!)
Have a great day ★

I was a grower twenty five years ago, prohibition and the law, plus getting married, I quit and became a family man, now it's legal here now, so I got back into it, do my years growing all those years ago count, it's kinda like roller skating, but back then I grow hydro, honestly I think the main issue is ffof growers all over RIU are talking about it, so it's not entirely that?

Sorry...but outdoor do not count...lol
Thos ffof mist be very powerful...that is maybe why I heard people put light soil (30%) in it!
Definitely want some...
If there's any EU growers who know where to buy some or something similar just let me know...
CU @Tim Fox I wish you a good hydro grow!

Your pretty cool man, twenty five years ago was in my garage, ghetto plywood box, under a four hundred watt bulbs metal halide, it was rad

60 dalys flower they smell wonderful , Trimmed off dead leaves , thinned it out a bunch, found some leaves that were still green under there, looked thru the loupe found trichrimes switching from clear to cloudy, also found one live spider mite, and a couple of eggs, I knew they werent gone just knocked back as I had to spray in early flower, so I want to harvest before they make a big come back, certainly before they spin webs,, gross
So I think I will let them go until Tuesday that will be 9 weeks 1 day, by then I hope the trichromes are milky, thats right about were I like my smoke,
hard to guess a dry weight yet, my dry weight guess is going to be 2-3 ounces?,, lol I am not big on guessing,
The Cob light draws 104 watts, so 50 grams would be .5 gram per watt who knows, its always good to make it to the end of a grow, just a few more days, I may have just done my last watering todayIMG_7012.JPG

Remember to let them sit in the dark for a day or two. I also like to give them a little drink right before the lights go off. Looks like a great harvest for two plants. Were these blue snow dog or donkey kong?

Thank you Dave, these are the donkey kong , good tip on the lights off, easy to do, if the mites are still few and far between on Tuesday, they can go a couple of days more even, just waiting and watching now

I love the harvesting part. Always make my day better to chop some pretty little buds down. I'm not far behind you with my outdoor grow. Put some pics on my seed post. Will have lots of seeds to share if you want some.
