What does it mean to be organic?

Can a person grow organic MJ using Fox Farms and Bottled Nutes or do they have to start with peat and amend or something to that affect?

I use Fox Farms or Roots Organic plus GH Floronova nutes. The clerk at the hydro store was telling me that Floronova is basically organic, but they didn't want to pay for the testing and licensing. Maybe it's true, maybe he was just trying to sell me product.

Am I organic or not or sort of?

Thanks

Also keep in mind the materials you use are important. Food-grade plastics over tupperware, PVC, and so on.

Organic gardening is also a great way to get sick. Wear gloves and consider a dust mask when working with things like guano.

Hahahaha.. Classic Clip!

EDTA is clearly posted on the label. Stay far away from anything that has that on the label. Anything that"s OMRI listed is good to go. If it doesn't state all natural or 100% organic stay away, read the labels carefully. Most of them are out to trick the consumer into believing its all natural.

OMRI doesn't mean a damn thing. It is a 'listing' only, they don't actually do any testing at all. The label game has been going on for a long time now, and you will have to dig a little deeper on your inputs. It's a pretty safe bet, if it comes out of a bottle it's been adulterated. Exceptions that come to mind are ful-power, and maybe pro-tekt, molasses... Most companies in the canna biz are looking to make big bucks fast, they are not looking out for your best interest, and they sure as hell don't care about what rule they bend to put out a cheap product that adds to their bottom line.

Inert ingredients anyone?! Lol!

All bottled nutes that claim to be organic in my honest opinion are not due to the very simp0le fact that theyll have preservatives of some sort and id even dare say inert nutrients They are organic based meaning theyre derived from, hoeflly, organic matter. Now any dickhead can use that organic matter himself in the raw form, and get in my opinion better results.
The only organic bottled nutes that do make a difference are boosters cause they have some enzymes and plants hormones and humics and fulvic acids depnding on the product.
Growinbg organic is as easy as getting hummus, guano and molasses and top dressing as you go. You can get fancier if you want but if you just use those two youll have decent organic results at a fraction of cost.

I agree with everything, except you don't need boosters. Enzymes, pgr's, pgh's, etc are all easy to get from organic ingredients.

These are but a few of the enzymes that contribute to a soil’s health:

Amylase
Arylsulphatase
Β-Glucosidase
Cellulase
Chitinase
Dehydrogenase
Phosphatase
Protease
Urease

Chitinase is the enzyme created by bacterial action on Chitin. Chitin in and of itself does nothing but the enzyme created, Chitinase, is what provides the pesticide action.

And here's a good link for an introduction to plant hormones.

What i was trying to say is that out of the organic bottled nutes the ones i find that were any good were the boosters. I dont use any of them anymore. When i can be fucked i make a seed tea for the hormones, you really witness faster growth with those but messy on larger scale, and i use pond cleaner a few times during the life too. Apart from that just water my own piss(i dont eat meat nor processed foods) and molasses.

Im pretty confident that bio bizz is 100% organic you can not state something is organic if it isn't bio bizz has been omri listed in the uk and America and has had plenty of tests to prove its organic

It's semi-organic, it has preservatives in the bottle to keep it from spoiling, OMRI certs can be a bit misleading, your best bet is just don't use bottled nutrients, that's not really how organic gardeners grow.

Totally agree with Yoda's post there, it's already been stated that OMRI doesn't mean shit, and that's especially so in the UK, it is just a listing not a certification. 'The Soil Association' actually 'certify' organic businesses and products here in the UK, they're a non-profit organisation/charity, where any money made from certification charges goes into educating farmers and growers how to become organic successfully. They aren't exposed to the same corporate pressures as OMRI are.

You'll find that if your soil is built right, which is what growing organically IS really all about, that adding bottled nute's will cause more problems than any benefits they bring. It's took 2 years of tinkering with things for me to actually learn that if you've got good soil, you DO only need to add water.

Hahaha........ok........OMRI may not mean shit, but, I do believe that this may be legit though. I've just looked at the Biobizz certifications and this one was at the top. The preservatives in this must be natural. After all, I can keep concentrated lacto serum for as long as I need to before using it and that's just down to the really high sugar content.

As long as your nutes/ferts/food comes from microbes eating organic matter and shitting out stuff your roots can take up immediately and there's no artificial or salt-based nutes, you're organic. Usually, liquid nutes are not full organic, but are accepted as such if it's organically derived.

Edit: COMMERCIALLY BOTTLED liquid nutes are typically not truly organic.
