I don't see the sport in spear fishing...I guess i'm just old school.

I prefer rod and reel.

I can't imagine what it would be like to hook into a 700lb goliath grouper. it'd be pretty awesome.

Oh man spear fishing is harder than rod and reel believe it or not !
The advantage is , you can see under water , you can actually see the fish , and you can stalk them if you are a pro and can hold your breath for that long .
The disadvange is , the fish see you and fuck off very quickly , you have to hold your breath untill you almost pass out , I could never get that close to big stuff here , only because i use a sling pear / hawaiian spear .
Three prong style with a elastic rubber band to shoot it .
With a rod you can creap up on them and just throw a bait infront of there nose and if ya lucky BAM .
Any way i mostly do fish with rod and reel as you would have seen in previous post's here .
I don't go snorkling anymore , to cold for my bones .
My 2 cents ! lol

This is dad's little tinny !!!
It's motor is a 350 chev (worked ) , the drivetrain is doen jet , so it can travel in very shallow water where even small boats struggle .
At full throttle she absolutlly hammers , with like a 50 ft rooster tail out the back !
We are slowly doing it up , big job . It will end up being painted and stuff .
