Snake head, Mid-Atlantic region, caught at daybreak during a bass tournament.

Although these fish are an invasive species they have been demonized throughout the mass media and have been subsequently become feared as a fish that ushers in the Apocalypse.

I will say this, they are a top of the food chain predator, they are badass. I saw one come out of the water and remove a blue heron from the air, in flight...gone, adios bird.

You may fear them as most people do, BUT they taste delicious!!!!
Fry 'em up in some beer batter...whooohooo!!!

Well... I happen to live next to some of the best surf fishing spots in Cali. I prefer surf fishing. I don't need no boat brah, I just wear my slippahs in the freezing water I don't care. I go alone at night, most of these beaches are also haunted. I can drive 35 min and be at a great fishing beach. I use 11ft daiwa surf rod, with penn 525 magnetic casting reel for the big guys. I also have a lighter tackle set up for the perch/small guys consisting of penn ss series on a cheap light rod. I can cast my rig all the way out to where the great whites swim, so cool. I have landed halibut, shark, bass, ray, perch, rock fish, and some other weird fish. Nothing like fighting some weird mysterious sea creature on a beach at night, going home and frying it fresh. I know one day a creeper wave is gonna get me and wash me away into the pacific ocean, but you can't be afraid of everything in life. fish on
