Zimbabwe has $217 in the bank. No, I didn't miss any zeros.

Taken it back?.....If they would of waited a little longer they might of been able to get in the casino business....like our natives...It took awhile, but I don't hear them bitching anymore......nitro..
Segregation in the US ended in the 60's, segregation in Africa was still going strong all through the 80's; it's not quite the same.

If they were real smart they would just rent the land back to the people that were productive........And then sit back and collect the fruit.......and share it with the people,.. They could get health care on the backs of the producers.....just a thought...........nitro..

You didn't address your race points that you emphasized in your OP, still. Redistribution is taking land from one group and giving it to others, so that happened. You have yet to address the fact that Europeans have treated Africans like second class citizens well into the 90's, and the long term repercussions of those actions. Not saying Mugabe is the best choice of "elected" leaders here, but you reap what you sow.
the farmer were almost all white and when displaced by the government they made a point of pointing out race. That's why.

Anymore info you need you will need to look it up yourself and wiki doesn't count.

It seems to me that the problem here is not race but political economics. Zimbabwe socialized (seize and nationalize land; run the money presses at full tilt) and is reaping the rewards. Imo the race issue is incidental; it would have been the same regardless of the race of the former landed class. cn

Openly racist OP supports colonialism but ignores that the first world continues to benefit from the third world conditions of resource rich nations.

YOU emphasized race, they made a note of it as a fact of the matter. The fact they are white is irrelevant, it's their skillsets that made a difference. I've got all the info I need. Makes me sad to see racist and imperialistic sentiments like this floating around though...
LMAO. I just knew that when they kicked out the White farmers and the White engineers and professionals this would happen.

The actuality is
The white farmers were supposed to get paid
They didnt
The new farmers didnt have the skills to farm the land they got
and the white farmers didnt have the skills to farm the land they got in trade

less than 9% of Zimbabwe is arable meaning you can farm it. Before Mugabe. Only the whites farmed that land. Because years ago they killed off the natives that originally owned it.

Yeah Zimbabwe is fucked up. But the whites didnt make it better for anyone but themselves to the exclusion of others on land they stole

That's the definition of the USA... so whites invading black peoples land racist, blacks kicking out whites not racist... Or are we trying to head for a level playing field?

Openly very racist

Would of been a different story had the Zimbabwe goverment paid the white farmers

If the people of Zimbabwe received greater payment for the rare earths mined in their country, Gina Rinehart would not be cutting wages in your country. Follow that fact to everything it implicates and you realize you're being cheated just like the people of Zimbabwe and it is only labor unions protecting you from tyranny.

It's racist, it's theft; but is it shocking? Not really, that's what happens when you treat the locals like shit for all that time for your own personal gain. They may get a bit vengeful and whatnot.

If it is not obvious to you, why the price of rare earths coming from Zimbabwe impacts Australian wages for miners, I can answer with a rhetorical question.

Why would I buy her ore, if I can buy theirs cheaper?

That's exactly what happened
The whites didnt get paid
and the natives started moving into the land they were promised
The goverment did nothing to stop them until the offered the whites some shitty land in trade because they had no money.

Long story short
The colonials got the boot.
The natives didnt know how to farm.

Makes no difference though
The colonials didnt improve anything for the natives the whole time they were there
