Man... it's incredible how many cross breeds there are nowadays. Original land run strains are almost no-existant. It's almost like we fucked this up over the past 40 years. Im not saying that there aren't good strains out there, but finding pure strains are impossible to find.
I know of a few tackle boxes and fishing vests besides mine holding 30+ year old treasures. Only our cars and dealers couches and carpet from the 70's and 80's beyond that.

Not quite, but I hear ya. The real Durban Poison is still around. I had one my first grow, but killed it because I decided to put Green Crack in it's spot. It was a beautiful plant though. I'm gonna get it next time I see it when I'm on the lookout.

It was a nice short compact sativa that was growing like an indica. Big fat leaves. Not a typical sativa.

My Green Crack is about that old. Chem 91 has that name for a reason, and the Durban I just mentioned has been around even longer. It's crazy. Thankfully some awesome growers have preserved the true strains of a lot of shit.

That’s mostly what I’ve been smoking for the past couple years. Afghan #1 and Moroccan and Packistani Citral Kush. There are seed companies dedicated to pure landrace strains like The Real Seed Company.

You are much younger than I am. Lol. Either that or I started smoking waaaaay before you. Either way the strain is quite telling of peoples age in this thread IMO.
I feel that, the diesel taste if def how I would describe most weed tho. Could be the butane coming from the lighter now that Im thinking about it. Im gonna grab a hemp wick and one of those plasma lighters and try that

Oh I smell it and they smell amazing but as far as taste?? I taste it when it’s in an unlit pipe or joint but the whole “ Tastes like ******” has me feeling left out. With a vape I detect a pleasant scent of the weed on my palate but it’s nowhere ever as nice as it smelled. Maybe I’m expecting too much and thinking it should taste like pipe tobacco which actually has a very nice flavor. I mean do you really taste it?
thought i was the only one and its always been that way even with the terpiest weed imaginable but once in a blue moon with a freshly cleaned bong and some super terpy bud ill get a hint of the flavor on the first hit but thats it still quite salty about it lol so now ill take new strains/phenos to the wife or buddies and look at em like a kid on christmas waiting for them to tell me what they taste lmao

I guess we are just going to have to learn to live with this disability.‍

Lately I’ve been consuming some Chocolope that a friend grew and gave me. It reminds me so much of weed that I smoked in the late 70’s that I can’t leave it alone. Kind of like smelling something that reminds you of your childhood.

Interesting question. It sure seems like there is a high correlation to when a person had their first "good" weed. So for me it would be 1970s Columbian Gold, Guerrero, and Michoacán.

I always preferred the smell and taste of dope (do you call that hash?). I didn't smoke it much as they say it was often mixed with all kinds of plastics and shit.. but I did prefer it's taste over typical weed. Back in the day, weed just smelt like sweaty socks or something, and I remember thinking ''why would you pay twice as much for shit that smells like that''. So yeah, didn't smoke weed back then.

Pure chem 91 from cannaventure was the most weediest, skunkd was the nicest weediest and super lemon haze, stardawg has a golden place in weedy to me.

Chems are as nice as folk say.

That first hit after at least a month off tastes the same as the first hit ever, doesn't matter what strain it is in my experience, it tastes like you just fucked around and are about to find out.

God damn I can't wait for that taste again

All weed tasted like weed in my youth because it was reggie bush. Then popcorn came around and it tasted slightly less like weed.

And then my world changed

The day I tried blueberry, was also my first exposure to “dro” aka anything not reggie or corn; and I’ll never forget how good it tasted. I was 16
