Your Opinion: what strain tastes the most like Weed?

To everyone asking about seeing a doctor if they can't smell, trust me I know more about all of that than you want to know.

Short answer -- see above. Have you ever stopped smoking cigs or cannabis and noticed if there is a difference?

Smell receptors in your nose are unlike almost any other cells in our bodies. They can regenerate themselves and will over time. (roughly 30 days to regenerate significantly, a.few days to start regenerating)

30 days is a great timeframe. If you can stop for 2 weeks or better, 30 days, you will know if you are burning them out or if you have a bigger issue.

If you still cant smell after stopping, see a doctor, but don't be overly concerned. Many people have a poor sense of smell.

I actually have what I would consider above sensory smelling. I detect and distinguish smells long before others do then watch them struggle to detect what is very clear to me. That’s why I’m so baffled. Then again I’m the kind of guy that has to add extra ingredients like sauces, butter, salt and cheese to most things because they lack flavor. If I eat a burger I’m putting extra pickles, bbq sauce, jalapeños or if at Burger King onion rings. Same thing with steak, chicken or pork I’m eating with bbq sauce and chiles. Fish is smothered in tartar

Seriously you crusty old bastard we share many likes and dislikes! I have hated the Dead all my life even though I like most hippie related things, including the Dead themselves...just not most of their music.

A song like Shakedown Street is pure magic...but then 98% of their sxxx is some weird hippie folk meandering bore that only a half dozen hard drugs could improve. Drums in Space is the perfect example of wtf is that? It sure ain't Pink Floyd or Zeppelin drumming. No it's an overwasted fool who stepped out of the crowd and walked up to the drum set and just poked away...for 20 minutes. F that noise.

The parking lot however was epic and the only real way for a lot of people to learn about the killer. My friends would come back with ANY amount you wanted from shows and sometimes did not attend shows, just the parking lot.

So yeah, I hate the Dead more than you do. The scene was amazing and the end of an era. Last of the true hippies carted themselves around with the Dead for a decade. Phish tried but it was not the same.
Aw man, some of there drum sets were awesome. I was asked by a stagehand friend to roadie for Mickey Hart when he came to my town because they were understaffed. Pushing old crates with the official Steal Your Face logo on them felt crazy. I also got to pluck The Beam.

But I agree for the most part. My ratio of like to hate started out 0% / 100%. I hated Touch of Grey when the video came out. Then years later I found a few songs that I liked, so the ratio was like 97% / 3%. Over the years the scale started tipping more and more towards the like side. Now I'm at about 30% hate / 70% like. I still hate the songs that I originally hated, but the songs that I felt mostly neutral about became more appealing as I got older.

I've been able to smell a yeast infection since about 12. LOL.

i remember once about 15 years ago my buddies and i scored an 8th of some OG. we were used to schwag brick weed so we were stoked. We smoked it with my cousin who was a west coast kid a few years older. We were all raving about the taste but him. He was like "it literally just tastes like weed.....it all tastes like this back home"

i really get it in the back nostrils/sinuses or back tongue/nostrils...it's both, that's the "taste" for me. maybe why i love smoking it so much, it's candy to me. The most tasty weed was sour diesel, we got that alot up north back in the day.
East coast sour diesel was our preferred growing up. That and skunk. These were the weeds worth something more back in the day in NY.

Sour Diesel for me too. I have had the same killer pheno for 15 years. I lost track of how many other strains I have tried in those 15 years but nothing compares to the Sour D. It's a little sweeter smelling and tasting than a roadkill skunk. Roadkill skunk is the real weed flavor for me. I try to forget the Columbian tasting weed we smoked in the 70's.

Over the years, I found the NYC diesel to be even better and stronger than the ECSD. I dont know if it is the same, with the NYC diesel being just a found pheno, but it was killer. Way stronger than the standard diesels.

That's funny because last winter I found a pheno of straight ECSD from an unnamed Cannarado strain, and it was the strongest bud I've ever smoked. The high felt like it was being delivered via shotgun blast.

Is a burnt out thread one where you can no longer find anyone to argue with?
I don’t think it’s burnt out at all. I think it’s great to know I’m not the only one that is watching weed evolve way to fast. I don’t get that hash/kush/skywalker og smell anymore
Unless i go to one spot in Bakersfield. And that’s it. They have like preserved phenos of something. Because they have everything from the 2000s and no lab test shit which is funny. Just smell and pay.

Yours are my favorite posts. We see things the same, that strains only mean so much it matters a lot who grows them and what pheno.

So often I try something from a different grower and its mediocre. Most annoying part of the evolution is waiting for them to figure out what they do well.

I just figure after each decade. There is a new bunch of people in the culture as well just weekend potheads. And they all have a different demand to what they grew up with or what’s trending. So if you want it. You gotta grow it. Lol
