You got a legal ACMPR grow and cops come to the door. Now what?

So I've had this question lingering for a while now so I'd like to ask here and I really don't want to hear any guessing or hypothetical's. I'd like some factual legal information about our rights now.

Can they inspect our gardens?
Do they need a warrant or are they require to give notice first?
Are they required to call you first, after they've contacted Health Canada, as that's what they're supposed to do should they receive a complaint requesting investigation?

I'd like to know exactly what rights I still hold and what they are permitted to do.

Thanks.

Honestly though unless they have reason to suspect a crime is in progress unless you let them in I'm pretty sure they still need a warrant
Well get your papers just in case.

I'm referring to when you do have your papers. If they receive a complaint about a suspected grow, the police are supposed to check with Health Canada to see if there is a permitted medical garden and get "limited" information such as plant allowance, etc. So, even if they do get notified that it's a permitted grow of say, 25 plants, can they still come out and check on the garden to see if it conforms? Do they have any such rights? Or, do I just show them my papers and tell them to piss off? I like to know these things beforehand so that when I tell a cop he needs a warrant or that he has no right coming to my door, that he does and doesn't.

Seems pointless to ask just because if your legal and everything is on the straight and narrow with your locsl rules etc etc .....then they already know your there in the first place and shouldn't or wouldn't hassle you .......but it's your choice on how you wana treat the police coming to see your legal grow ....

Are you Canadian? Because under our MMJ system, we have a right to privacy and our Health ministry is not allowed to share our information with anybody, even the police. The only time they can do that is if the police get a formal complaint that they are required to investigate and the first part of protocol is to contact Health Canada to find out. Even then, only "limited" information is shared with them such as name, address, DOB and allowed plant limit. Nothing else. From there is what I'm not sure of what happens. It's not about how I want to "treat" police when they come to my door. Has nothing to do with being disrespectful and everything to do with protecting my rights and not allow them to violate them.

Well because I don't know you that's why I said it's all how you want to treat law enforcement ....some people have nasty attitudes from the get go and get Nast results legal or otherwise ....however being kind and compliant can bite you in the ass as well ...mmj is still a grey area no matter where you are ...and further more if you think your legal garden and name is as secret as I assume you do ....the reality is much different ...which is sad and I'm not against what your saying and that's exactly why I stated and you replied above if your legal than simple protocol should show your a licensed grower to police with little searching ........

You're paranoid conspiracy theory is showing and you're sounding like those, "if you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to worry about people". Health Canada is not voluntarily sharing our information with the police. That would be a huge constitutional violation. As far as Licsenced producers, I'm not, nor ever will be, registered with one of them.

I've never had to deal with it, but it is my understanding that the cops require a warrant. They can ask HC if there is a legal garden at an address and the number of plants allowed, but they need to suspect criminal activity to get a warrant. If you're all legal and they show up at your door without one, politely tell them to fuck off.

No conspiracy if you think the law doesn't know you grow when you have obtained any permits paperwork or anything of the sort that's wishful thinking .....not trying to argue with you and you can say conspiracy or disagree all you want but guaranteed if you have any paperwork saying you can grow I'm sure at some level law enforcement can see/find that out without your knowledge if complaints are being made .......I agree it's bullshit and it should be kept private as long as your doing what your suppose to......if it was suppose to be kept so private why not just get the name of a permit/grower/card holder instead of full details on where we live......once again not against what your saying as far as privacy but even in california it's not black and white or private whatsoever ....lots of grey areas and stipulations depending where you are etc etc

It is kept private, in Canada, whether you chose to believe it or not, until this

"I'm sure at some level law enforcement can see/find that out without your knowledge if complaints are being made" (that warrant an investigation)

Then, and only then, can they request information, and only limited. No medical or anything like that.

You really should read what I write first.

if you had been here two years back you would have known that it doesn't matter if you have or have not.
As long as you have a need .....its your choice.
either way you go could end up defending yourself in court.
