Yet another DIY panel!

The front plate is 2mm thick PVC. After some thoughts, I don't think it is the best material for this application. Teflon or other higher quality plastics would be much better as PVC starts becoming soft at 60°C (I think the star PCBs can get pretty close to this value) and it becomes a bit yellowish over time because of light radiation.
Holes are drilled at 8mm and then enlarged with a 90 deg cone end mill to about 12mm. The plate is tighten and "rests" on the solder of the wires that connect each star to its neighbor.

On the production panel I will use teflon, drill everything with a CNC mill and holes will be matching the LEDs perfectly, watertight without supplemental front screen so no light losses. I might as well offer a "DIY kit" with LEDs mounted on stars (done in a real reflow oven of course) at killer price, a good driver and a heatsink. I do believe most companies that sell star mounted LEDs are exaggerating their prices and sell much higher than what it actually costs them.

I've seen PVC offered on some heat sinks and it makes no sense to me, (then again I do smoke alot of weed :)). Great job, cant wait to see the finished product! +Rep to you!
