WTF?? Is this bud rot or something??

I've been noticing for a couple of weeks that the bottom buds on my Power Kush are turning brown and I've picked off a couple of gooey cocoon looking things. It's continuing to go up the damn plant and by the time October is here I won't have anything to harvest. I've never seen this before. Does anyone know WTF this is?

thats nasty. kill that plant. and replant. after sterilizing everything. id even search until i found out what the fuck caused that cause DAMN. thats nasty.

Could be excessive N. Too much can cause flower necrosis.

That almost looks like you have beattle bores try to see if you can find a hole that looks like it is covered in saw dust if you do try spliting open the stem just slightly and you might find a red orange like worm inside, the only way I know how to get rid of beattle bores is to put a needle up the stem and try to kill the beattle bore.

If it's a cocoon thingy- then most likely powdery mildew or a kind of mold. But that may not be the cause of it- because flower necrosis, as mentioned above, opens the door to such infirmities.

Yeap your plant is done, sorry to tell you that but it is all over but the cleaning up and getting it the hell away from any other plants you have. The caccoons I don't really know, hard to tell unless you can get a very close pic of them for us. Just make sure that your growing area is cleaned throughly because you can infect the rest of your plants. Sorry man it sucks but we all end up with this at one time or another.

Damn... I think I'm going to dig it up and transplant it well away from the others. I have 3 more kushes planted right next to this one and they are all doing well. Thanks for the advice guys.

I found some fungicide and I decided to trim off the bad parts and spray the plant good and give it a couple of days to see if the brown keeps creeping up. Now I've got sticky, stinky fingers from trimming it.
