WTF, 50 bucks for ph pen, and yeah, my gh three part ph balanced my nutes just right!

Lol, that is right. I was worried as hell as I saw some probs on the leaves of a 4 week old slh dying and thot it premature. I have in the last five months or so never ph onced my gh three part with harwater micro and tapwater and bragged about my good results and relied on the shit "the astronauts use".

Well I sprang for a nice milawaukee ph 55 and cal solutions. I soaked for two hours in 7.01 ph and then calibrated it easy as cake. I checked the dwc cloner. It was about 7. No nutes and roots are showing. "well, I will maybe fix that".

"on to the next". I said with dread. I plunged it in to the flower and then read "5.9". WTF! No probs at all. Not really.

I checked the veg girls. Same thing. One was 6 but low and needed a res change. Old reservoirs too people.

So it appears that gh three part has been in fact buffering perfectly my tapwater. WOW. Kinda bummed I got the pen tho. lol. worse things to be bummd about.

I had added a ml of ph down tearlier in the week to each res tho for safety. These are five gallon dwcs for trees.



So go gh. I was right. The astronauts make the right choice.

ok, I am stoked all around. While my grow and flower ph is good my cloner ph was 7! I was getting clones but for the last two months no matter what I did I was sol! It was so embarassing. I tell no one but I used to be able to clone. Well finally I went back to a coffee can and an airstone and I got roots today. After two weeks.

Well now, five minutes ago, I just ph 'd my cloner to 5.8 with superthrive, h202, and kool bloom for p to promote rooting. Lavender clones at last and I can fllower that bad girl!

you put kool bloom in your cloner?? never heard of such a thing

why not? a little p is good. read albfucts clone essay and many others and also look to the standard lit on cloning and root forming and yu'll see that P is a good additive. So I add a little but i am nervous so I add maybe a ml a gallon. Prob not enough to do anyting but hey.

A few hours after I ph balanced the 1 gallon clone container to a 5.8 it is at 6.5. It is bubbled. I checked the container I mixed the water and ph down and superthrive and other additives and it is still steady at 5.8! What gives. Variables include a coffee can (lucky) can and the lid, the plastice folgers cleaned very well. The fish tube and the airstone are the same in every system but maybe they have something going on. They are the cheap airstones.


Next i mixed a batch of veg nutes for fun. I had to use 2.5 ml a gal of ph down to bring my water to 5.8. This is dangerous I read with hardwater micro as it buffers slowly over 24 hours. However I want to see it myself. So I buffered it and gave it to a month or more old plant and checked a half hour later and it was 6.0! It was 5.8 earlier when I checked a week old solution with a ml or so of ph down added.

I then mixed some pure blend pro at a week str and used 2 ml a gal of ph down to get it 5.8. I will see it prob fail! compared to gh, lol. JK. I hope it succeeds as this is just a possible donator for clones later. Some accident where i dropped the seeds and i dont know if it is herijauna, or purple wreck or el monstre. That is no fun.


So I am having a ton of fun with a ph pen now.


I do trust the long term buffers of gh and will be checjing my res every few hours on this my day off where like a dumbass I drank a pot of coffee in the evening and cant sleep no matter what. Lol.

Dont worry you'll get sick of that pen... I got a hanna and run everything at 5.8ph, I use mad farmers PH because theres no dyes, ect.. but I have to adjust ph at least once a day still and its quite annoying when you have 15 reservoirs to check. How does the GH ph work compared to the Mad farmers? anyone?

even tho when I checked the reservoirs they were balanced after a week when i poured the nutes they were around 6.5 mixed with over 7 tapwater. So i ph downed. The ph has statyed the same. So I can wait or do it right away and no prob. I heard the gh would take it to low. It hass till been only a couple of days.

Lol, I am sick of reading the clone container at 6.5. It drifts right up. No idea why.

The gh works fine for me. U never heard of pharmers. Since I have gh nutes i will stay with the gh ph down in case of nute company sabotage. It is phosphroic acid. There is also N acid but I here it is a little skethcy.
