car guy here as we'll. I used to own a evo 9 with tein fully adjustable suspension, turbo back exhaust, dyno flash, all the bolt ons. My next step back then was a fp red on meth. View attachment 2462768

Hempy guys new year and trying hard to have my showcase come soon.
So... you'll be running 90 2l? What is your light setup again? I look forward to seeing this unfold!

My second 1000w ballast and bulb will be here tomorrow, meaning I will have a digital 600w HPS on the shelf until I could find a use for it. I could throw it back into my 6" cooltube (hate it) or scoop up another 6" Blockbuster reflector and run 8 trays of 18 - 2l hempy bottles (144 total)... I really dont need to do this, and my wife will just roll her eyes at me, but I like the thought of the challenge... This hobby is addictive lol

ive scanned this thread but its near impossible to read the whole thing haha. I want to order my nutrients ASAP. My setup will be finished sometime this next week so im getting ancy. lol.

What nutrients have been found to work the best with the Hempy method? Ive been hearing good things about the General Hydroponics line but I want to be sure since this is for hempy. Can anyone recommend a good "package" that can be purchased online? I dot care to use a bunch of different sweeteners and boosters, just basic nutes with maybe something extra. Let me know whats out there, ill keep reading
I just use Dynagro mix it with the recommended hydroponics feeding chart. It's my first grow and I got monsters out of these Hempy buckets. Damn near one lb plants it looks like on the mothers. It's simple for sog grow and normal big tree grows. Won't use any other method cause its simple and feed and forget.

I will be running either two or three 8" xxxl magnum hoods with digital ballast. Right now i have two 1000 watt digilux bulbs (from my previous aeroponic stinkbud grows)but I will buy two 600 watt digilux bulbs and turned down my ballast down to 600 watts. I will be using a Gorilla 5x9 tent with a portable a/c with either two 4x4 tables or one 4x8 table. The portable a/c is design to cool up to 2000 watts of air cooled lights. Later on if things go well I may venture into co2 either a tank or mini gen.

awesome. Too be honest im in between going with hempy or using my aero setup. If I do decide to go hempy ill probably go perlite/vermiculite miixture. If I go with the aero ill probably run the Dutch Master line of nutes
What kind of aero setup do you have? I used Dutch Masters nutes in my old aero grows. I will be using them in my hemp grows as well. I have heard of great reviews from Blue Planet nutrients lineup from another forum growing in hemp and hydroponics.

i have a 12 site rubber maid setup but im only going to be starting with 4 clones. I hear Dutch Master is some of the best nutrients for hydro. Can I use their stuff for Hempy Buckets? Im looking for the stuff that will give me that sweet medical bud taste. Lots of homegrown stuff ive smoked is always harsh, smells like plant, and not good. Im just looking for basic grow and bloom and maybe some sweetener during flower and some sort of flush.

I also wanted to ask, can I use hydroton pellets for my reservoir and then add the perlte/vermiculite mix on top of that? It seems like that would create the perfect mixture of water/air with the pellets.

Dutch masters can be used in hempy, but ya want to start off by doing feed, water, water and so on. . . When feeding DM nutes in hempy

Thanks Bozo.

No, Im not trying to over-complicate things but if I want bare-root cuttings then Aero or Bubble are the main options. I will go passive but it might take me a week or 2 to get my head around it.

In the meanwhile I may pick up an air-pump or 2 with air-stones tomorrow morning. I already have the Box with holes cut out (actually have 2) and the neoprene collars.

Edit;
Out of interest, why did you stop with the bubbler?
yeah man, sorry if i came across wrong as i wasn't implying that you were over-complicating things, just that maybe you were so used to doing things in a particular way that maybe you couldn't see how it might work without all that complication.

...and the bubbler just got kinda left behind, as it were, because once i'd started rooting my clones in this new, passive way, it worked so well i just never fired up the bubbler again, ...it was always more of a pain to clean than i liked so when my friend pointed me at this passive approach i was already very open to the idea.

...oh yeah, what i do when i pot up is i dump the liquid that was my reservoir into a big bowl and then i just dip my clones up and down until i rinse off most of the vermiculite, ...i don't go nuts trying to get 100% off because i'm just potting up into coco so a little vermiculite doesn't hurt, in your case you could just be a bit more thorough with the rinse.

Thank you Moebius for trying to get a Hempy sub-section. Apparently admin feels that (Hempy) falls into the same category as (DWC). Looks like we will just have to do massive amounts of hempy gro journals to help spread this clean, easy, cheap and efficient way to supply meds. On a side note it's been 3 days and my hempy clones are still alive lol. I figure they should be getting close to hitting the rez. Peace!!

Nice pictorial Bozo, +rep :)

haha Bozo, No worries man I know what you meant dude, you've been really helpful. .. Its the limitations of long distance communication that often confuse meaning in these forums, I learnt that years ago. People are too fast to take offense when none is meant. LOL

FWIW. .. I WELCOME suggestions, criticisms, and ideas. For me its what RIU is about and I respect those that take time to post. Please keep them coming. :leaf::bigjoint:

been away for little while fellas... wasn`t too well...

anyways, got back yesterday and i find my hempys in good condition so tought all wasn`t lost, upon further inspection tho, turns out we have out of 30 we have only 13 fem`s..

not too bad, its still a decent amount to finish as in economic to finish, but at week 6 of 12/12 there only sexing now with few hairs showing and no flower heads as you would expect at week 6...

my room is in my shed and here in ireland the weather is really cold, so i`m thinking i might have to bring them indoors to finish. Just seems to be takeing forever to get them going.. and time is a bit of an isue as i need these done asap, the room has to come down, for mega upgradeing....;)

Is it worth insulating the shed or is it too big a job?/ Depending on the size of the space, insulation roll is relatively inexpensive.

Thats too bad about the sex showing late, for some Sativas doms this might be expected. What strain you doing again?

0 - Copy.jpgHere is a little look at the Hempy Vs. DWC portion of my grow. The bucket on the left is an all peralite Hempy with Osmocote + and the DWC to the right of it is being run with Lucas formula. They are both Critical Kush and were both put in the buckets at the same time. The DWC took off faster than the Hempy but the Hempy Critical Kush is just as big now and looks a bit better.

It will be interesting to see them go head to head in flower soon.

have the shed cavity wall filled, its just not up to it... hence why i`m starting again with it and building a box in a box something like a thermos, if i want it hot it`ll be hot if i want it cool it`ll be cool...

strain is lemmon haze...

Nice work! It would be nice to see a side by side comparison of a coco hempy vs DWC too. In regards to the OC+ hempy, are you using PH'ed water or just straight tap/RO?

So far I have just been running tap water that is in a rez with an air stone for at least 24 hours. Just got an RO system so I will be making my way toward that soon. I actually have a Critical Kush in a Coco Hempy at the moment that is doing just as well - it actually took off faster than the Peralite hempy. The only difference is that it is in a 2.5 Gal bucket instead of a 5 Gal bucket like the DWC and Other Hempy.

All my hempys are running with OC+ so that is Coco, Coco/Peralite, Peralite, Peralite/turface. I have lots of test hempy's going to see what works best for me and so far the coco is showing faster initial growth than peralite.

More pics/info to come later

As a dedicated OC user, I'll be really interested in your tests.

So I built a little table for my flood table to sit on so the res sits underneath and the flood table drains back into it via gravity. Came back from work and plants were still looking great so they are getting enough water it seems.

Took me about 10 mins at work to build and cut it all in pieces. From there I came home and did the rest of the assembly which really was just screwing the 2x4's to the sides and wrapping it in poly.

Here's the plants and a better picture of it over-all.

Watt, I saw that you will mix OC+ with OC 14-14-14, do you use any other additives with the setup? I have some OC+, just wondering if I need anything additional to run my tests.

Ok I went back through the thread to find when I started this, it was 12/7/12 and it looked like

So today is 1/3/12 and shes now like this. Doing pretty well if I do so say so my damn self!

She went through a gallon of low strength grow, now shes been on a gallon of transition grow/bloom. Still havent finished that second gallon yet, almost though.
Botanicare CNS17 grow and bloom, no micro or cal/mag. I am a Botanicare fan, the bloom nutes are kinda chunky though and dont absorb well into the water, hasnt proven to be an issue yet.
