The slime needs light. ergo you HAVE a light leak bro.

By the sounds of it, the reason why your clones are yellowing is that the rooting is taking too long and the clones are using up all the available (N) stored in their cells. You could try misting with 1/5 bloom nutes. Although if the cloner is working correctly, this is definitely not needed.
i think the lid must be letting light in then, i will pick up on the bubbler again in the future and sort that issue out. i have been spraying every 3 days but these went yellow quickly before i started

With cloning you can always use the cheapest easiest method. Soil seems to be highly compatible with root growth. One thing I really like about soil is it has a good base nute charge so there is no need to feed, (a party cup clone using FFoF can go 4wks).

Quick update. Here's my maui-wowie X big island thunder at day 25 12/12. She took 9d to show sex, I'm guessin' 40d's to go. Her bud structure is different from either parent. It might have been a good thing that only one of these was a girl.

There was earlier talk of purple and seeds, here's shot of the stash. After New Yrs I'm gonna pop one of the purple herion crosses.

So I checked my water temps and it was 28.8 c degrees. I guess it's back to rock wool until I can find a way to control water temps
Just send it to me if you aren't using it lol.. Sorry you are having problems with it, I say keep trying and once you get aero cloning dialed in you won't mess with anything else.. BTW, what is your light setup with the cloner? I had problems in the past with too strong lighting for my clones, that's really the only time I have problems with it. I use two (2) 24 watt CFLs about 8-10" (I think) above my cuttings. Weak lighting encourages the plants to form roots rather than photosynthesize.

Its amazing - I have been using my aero cloner for well over a year, maybe 2, and I just rooted my clones on this round in only 7 days. My furnace is right next to my tent with the cloner in it (basement), and the heat from the furnace, coupled with me misting once a day improved the humidity to the point of cutting the rooting time in half! No joke - my normal wait time for clones in about 12-16 days. My point is - even folks who use the aero cloner can improve its use after long periods. Don't give up on that cloner!

So I did a little experiment last night when starting my seeds. Put 3 in shot glasses and 3 I used the paper towel method. All 6 were cozy on the heating pad in complete dark. 16 hours later all 3 in the paper towel/baggies had cracked and had tap root out about 1/4 in (barneys critical kush, ch9 jack and vintage 2006.) All three in the shot glasses (2x blue dream and g13 haze) showed signs of splitting open but no visible roots. Remember this is my first grow so trying to figure out what works best. Anyway all 3 were put into starter plugs and went back in the dark on their cozy heating pad.

Nice one Steve.

I'm a big fan of G13 Haze, its definitely one of my favourite smokes ever. I've grown it a couple of times but its a bit stretches a bit at 12/12 and always ends too tall for my setup. Its a fantastic plant. Is it from Barneys?

Thanks Moebius, yes it is from barneys. I was impressed how fast they were delivered. About a week. My tangerine dream was crushed though. I emailed the seedbank, hopefully they'll replace it.

How tall are you talking? My tents 79", should I train it? I'm curious about scrog, I def plan on trying it sometime.

Now, I got a 600 w hps with a dimmable balast. If I turn it down to 50% (300w) with a mh bulb will that be to much light for the young plants? I planned on having a t5 but money got tight. Or should I try to set up some cfl's?

79" is abouts 6'6". You'll have enough height, no probs. ... Just don't veg too long 3 weeks max and you should be good.

I myself have little experience with scrog, I'll let others talk on that. Although, if you have a few strains going on in one tent, you may want to leave the scrog for another run. :peace:

I decided to leave the tops off and went a little bigger on the clones

Hi steve - first off, welcome to WOH. Your method sounds similar to mine - I put my seeds into DO water in a cup for 2-3 days, or until the seeds show signs of a root. Then, I place them between a folded over paper towel and into a sealed container. I wrap that container in a kitchen towel and place it on my seed mat. Within 2 days they are ready to go into dirt, typically.

Your seedlings will need just some CFLs. I keep a 24w CFL or T5 tubes a few inches above the soil and let the seedling grow with floro light for a few weeks before throwing them under HID. That HID @ 300w will still be too much, unless you have it quite some distance away, which will cause undesirable stretch.
