Weed, container, gas and a glass pan to collect. Easy and quick. I have the honey bee extractor but it will "only" fit 10g grinded.

Put in those back draft dampers today...ever seen a fan mounting like this? Nice and quite with no vibration induced into the ceiling...uni-strut and truckers bungee's work nicely. Pardon all the insulated vent line but it keeps the room liveable in summer months. The last pic is the same addition to a closet vent line. Note the simple twist-lock adapter....makes it easy to remove if necessary.

Looks good Jela, that should stop any bugs from entering the house and keep any backdraft down.

Moe ive made lots of BHO. Some people use PVC but (could be wrong) seems to me using a polyvinyl chloride as a container when running a solvent through it may lead to leeching of unhealthy compounds. So i used copper pipe (flush it good for a while like they do for water systems) basically 1 inchcopper piping cut to about 20 inches long and two end caps copper also. Drill a hole just the size of a butane nozzle in one of them. You want a tight fit. On the other cap drill very small holes like a salt shaker pattern. This is the end fluid will come out. I put a small piece of coffee filter on the inside of this end.

Then all you need is a can or two of ultra refined butane and a glass collection dish. Preferably flat bottomed for collection.

ALWAYS DO THIS IN AN OPEN AIR SPACE OR A VERY VERY WELL VENTED AREA...!!!!AWAY FROM WATER HEATERS, FLAME, HEAT OR ANY SOURCE OF SPARK THIS INCLUDES STATIC!!!!!!

reread above

I like to grind my material very fine with a coffee grinder then attach salt shaker end cap to copper tube and lightly pack/fill the pipe completely. Not too tight or the butane will miss spots. Put the other cap with nozzle hole on pipe...Grab gloves because that pipe is gonna get really damn cold. Position the salt shaker end about 6-10 inches above the collection dish insert butane into end cap and push till it starts filling the tube (i run 2 cans of butane per load) keep it pumping butane until all gone and leave it in after its spent until dripping stops from salt shaker end.

CAREFUL YOU JUST MADE A FUCKING PIPE BOMB NO DAMN FLAME OR SPARKS

I take the end caps off to help the pipe vent. Then warm water bathe the collection container to hasten the evaporation of butane and use a razor blade to collect oil. For very pure cleaned oil you can use pure isopropyl

It was rather nice here today also 82 degrees so I was like Watt, washing perlite and hydroton as well as buckets. Going to transplant two Auto's in buckets tomorrow and get my 2L's cleaned and ready for my Flav's.

Oops hit enter.

You can use isopropyl to wash the oil then evaporate it if you want.

Make sure youre in a well vented area...ive been in my backyard had the waterheater in the kitchen click on and a resulting 30 foot wide ball of fire that burnt my hair and nothing else luckily. Kitchen was 15 feet away.

Good point with the static mention - they sell anti-static wrist straps at radio shack for working on computers that are hella cheap and very well may prevent a disaster. +rep

Im with ya TX. I made a lot when i would have garbage bins full of trim literally metric yards of it and BHO was going for 100 bucks + a gram. I dont even like smoking BHO. I like to freeze trim niw when its fresh and then kief box it and bubble. BHO doesnt really have all of the terpenes like sifted hash and i firmly believe i get a better high with a full terpene profile.

I smoke hash everyday and have been for 9 years. For me the BHO is without a doubt more killer than hash. Normally ill smoke 2g a day. and that is good hash. Yesterday i was high all day from 0.6g bho in a bong mix.
I have a friend that doesnt smoke as much as me. He likes drinkin and cocaine. He wanted to try the bho i swear he was crawling for 10min with eyes closed. Some of the funniest shit ive seen. Dogs tryin to play with him at the same time lol.
BHO is killer shiz. Cant say bubble hash aint doin the same cause i have never tried it. Cashmere is a normal day smoke. Afghan Kush Ryder bho is when i wanna feel royal :D

Nice lookin brick you have there. I'm not knockin your choice of what to use, and when I said "bad things" I was referring to the possible dangers of making it. As even growing it where I am is Taboo.

There is only one grade of plastic pipe that is ok to use with butane, it's CPVC, it's the same plastic they use in the honey bee extractor. Copper is not a good choice either, it leaches certain metal compounds when exposed to butane. I'd only recommend stainless, brass, or glass, and the best glass is pyrex due to the extreme cold (I had a standard glass tube break in my hand, was extremely lucky to not get cut up real bad).

Now I only use SS, I have a turkey baster for small loads, and to do thin film method of drying. Shiva mentioned the lack of terps in bho and that is due to heating the oil to work the butane out. That's why I like the thin film method, because the oil never gets above rm temp. It takes a couple of wks for the cure, but you'll end up with all the fruity, sweet, sour, or whatever flavors.

For larger loads I use a modified 12oz "Kleen-Kanteen"
extrac 028.jpg
extrac 026.jpg
I carved out the plastic on the cap, drilled holes in the lid and one in the bottom of the canteen. The screen is from an old french press coffee maker. I used a small brass machine screw to hold the screen to the inside of the lid. I cut a place a piece of coffee filter between the screen and the lid. The screw extends down about 3/8" below the rim of the lid, this way I can just set the screw end on the pan bottom and spray through, and not have to put the death grip on the frozen can, I get a lot better control, with no freezing butane splatter. In use below.
